The 4 x 8 enclosed trailer was filthy inside and especially outside. It looked as if it had been sitting in the woods for ten years. Covered with dirt and pine straw. The door was falling out from the hinges because the rivets popped loose. Luckily we made it to our destination, which was over 1,000 miles away! We have rented a lot of trailers over the years and this was the worst vehicle and experience. We told the guy in Michigan about the issues and recommended this trailer be retired.Tom D.

When I arrived at the drop off located instructed by U-Haul I was given a slip of paper and told I would have to deliver the trailer there. The address did no pull up in my GPS so I proceeded to the road, the address was not visible on the mailbox and no sigh saying U-Haul. I saw several U-Haul trucks and trailers so I turned around and went back. The attendant initially was not responsive, told me to check it in online. It was her JOB. I did not have a computer with my liogin to use. She reluctantly got her iPad and started to try using my phone number as the pickup location did, didn't work. She tried my contract #, didn[t work. Finally she used the trailer ID and was able to find my information and get it checked in. She had trouble printing the receipt but finally did get it to work. The initial U-Haul center for drop off should have accepted the drop off and handled moving over load inventory the 7 miles to the alternate location.MICHAEL W.
This pickup location was 20 minutes away from my requested location. It was an extremely rural liquor store. The trailer door was rusty and very difficult to open and close as was the coupler. It took almost an extra hour round trip. Disappointing.James B.

There was some confusion on where to pick the trailer up. Our email said to go to a place on Opelika Hwy, but when we got there, the man there said we had a new place to pick it up and gave us the address. We drove 20min to the address and it was in the middle of no whereâ€¦.no building! Finally, we found the phone number for the package store and got another address. Drove another 20 min and finally found it. We were frustrated with all the driving to find it! But the people at Good Tymes Package store were very friendly and helpful.Jill P.

U Haul emailed me the night before our pick up and changed our pick up location from Auburn Alabama to Opelika Alabama. The new pick up was about 11 miles in the opposite direction down a country road in the middle of nowhere. Ended up being a liquor store with a lady inside that would not let me in because her two kids were running around in the liquor store in there diapers. After 10 or 20 minutes later, she cracked the door and threw the keys at me with no thank you or desire to inspect the truck I was getting. I inspected it myself and took a picture of the cracked windshield and then immediately called corporate to let them know this was already there. Got pictures at their advise. This location should not be allowed to represent UHaul.Paul D.

I rented a 5X8 covered trailer. I was asked to hook the trailer up myself. Agent only took pictures as I was ready to leave. Drop off location asked had I "unhooked the trailer". They asked the question because the chains were not correctly attached. I was provided no instruction at the rental pick up location.CHUCK C.
Was told that a minimum charge of three days for a 5x8 trailer was required up front BUT I would get money back for each day I did not use. I needed it for less than 24 hours. Of course when I go to turn it in at the drop off location I was told I was lied to and that the 3 day rate is what it costs to rent the trailer regardless of the days I didn't use it. Fine that's your policy Uhaulâ€¦your locations AND websites need to reflect this. Never again will I rent from you.Jason C.

I wouldn't have minded going completely out of the way to this location if the equipment was in good working order. The trailer was full of mud and leaked water into the very front so much that several tarps had to be used to keep the bottoms of things getting wet. I was very frustrated having to water proof all of my belongings after getting a covered trailer. The standing water in the bottom of the trailer caused the humidity to skyrocket inside of there and thankfully I completed the trip before mildew had a chance to start growing.The cardboard boxes I had stacked on top thinking they would be safe were soft after being in there 3 days. All that aside, the staff there was extremely helpful and courteous. They got me on my way quickly and safely. I may have just gotten a one offJared C.
I picked up the dolly at the second location after the first one gave my reservation away. I had to pay for an additional days hotel and postpone my trip. The tow dolly had faulty wiring on the passenger side. I had to have the attendant repair it before I could leave. But other than that the staff was very polite. Also they included the insurance without my knowledge. I would have not gotten it. My auto insurance would have covered any issues. So it cost me an additional 40$. Every time I had to call the U Haul corporate number I was on hold for very a long time.walter W.

I reserved a trailer at the main store in Opelika and got sent 10 miles out into the country to pick up the only trailer this location had on site, while the main store had at least 8, 5x9 trailers sitting on the lot. I do not understand this at all. The trailer I picked up only had one tail light working, and being the remote satellite location had not way to fix it. I took the chance and made it home safe. The person at the Lee Road location was very pleasant to work with, not a ding on her. The people at the main store in Opelika not so much.Ricky C.

I was extremely disappointed that I made a reservation at one location but then told I had to drive 20 minutes out of my way to pick up what I had reserved at the original location. Either the online system shouldn't have let me reserve my trailer at the pickup spot I requested or UHaul should have brought what I reserved to the location of the original reservation.Chris F.

I rented the trailer for 24 (two four) hours picking it up at 10am on Saturday and dropping it off at 10am on Sunday. I was billed for 2 days when I only rented it for one because I was told by the employee that the trailer just needed to be dropped of and they would check it in on Monday as the business was not open on Sunday. Not only that when I dropped the trailer off because it was Sunday and nobody was there due to the business being closed I had to improvise and use my trucks car jack to get the trailer off the hitch. If the facility is not knowledgeable about the drop off procedure enough to tell the customers they either do not need to be a UHaul dealer or be educated on it and held accountable for their lack of disclosure to the customer. Also when they are not open they need to have a set plan on how customers can get the larger trailers off their vehicles in place.Christopher G.
