The U-Haul van was great, I had a problem with the staff at the location. My rental time was set for 8 am. I was there a little before 8 yet had to with until about 8:45 am to pick up the vehicle because the location was closed. When someone did arrive they gave me the story how the train was late yet they had time to get breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. When returning the vehicle the same person told me that they couldn’t check the vehicle back in and that I had to download the U-Haul app and check it in myself. I went to this location because I need someone that could do these things at the front desk, luck my friend was able to help me out with his phone. I don’t think I would have to again but I’ll never rent from here again.

Should upgrade the trucks
Angelique LMatt, the employee on duty, was absolutely incredible. We were late, had issues with uploading our license, and he had several customers waiting -- and yet he was always polite, understanding, and supremely helpful. Really satisfied with our U-Haul experience.

BARBARA JI had completed the check-in the night before and even stopped in that evening to meet the guy that worked there and to confirm I would see him at 8am sharp when they opened. I got there at 7:50am and he was outside cleaning and sweeping the sidewalk. Not in any rush so I started picking up trash to get him done so I could grab my van at 8am sharp. When he finally got into the store and pulled up my reservation - he said that my checkin was incomplete - I had to re-enter 40% of what I had already done the night before. He then asked me to grab the blankets that I had requested and then went out to the van to retrieve it. It had moving dolleys and debris in it from the prior evening so I removed them before he then did a quick job of cleaning the van with a leaf blower (not very well I might add)... and then I departed at about 8:17am. The reason for my low rating was I was told all of these things would be done before I arrived as I needed a quick departure and it led to a very dissappointing rental. I drove a total of 12 miles and I had to add $12.60 of gas (amost 4 gallons) to bring it back to just above the level I departed with. So the van was getting 3 miles to a gallon... not a very efficient mode of transportation. Overall a really bad experience.

JOSE JTbh I will be returning tomorrow. I had a horrible experience I wouldn’t recommend this location at all. Upon arrival they didn’t have what I reserve. I didn’t receive a phone call for a heads up or if another location had it. Upon arrival as well, I was called for a substitute, my dad spent 45 mins for them to pulling up my information. Then the substitute didn’t have what I requested. He offered to give free blankets free of charge I was still charged. I was also giving the truck with no gas I was charged for gas. I also brought it back before the scheduled and still was charged. I’m owed money and not what was said to me. Please don’t go here

sebastian bI originally scheduled my pickup at a location significantly closer to my home, I was called the day before and notified that the location had moved. I was scheduled for 7AM pickup, when I arrived at the location at 7AM (per the updated reservation) I saw a sign on the store window saying they don’t open until 8AM. I tried calling to see what was going on but did not receive any help. Despite the store hours starting at 8AM, no one showed up to open the site until after 830AM. I stood outside for over an hour and half at below freezing temperatures while the movers I hired for help were sitting outside my apartment on the clock despite me waiting for a truck while no one answered my calls. I understand that things happen however it is unacceptable to be booked for 7AM pickup at a store that doesn’t open until 8AM.

ELIAS DThe initial person trying to process the rental was unable to fill the appropriate in-house forms, leading to a 40 mins delay. The items that were ordered as part of the rental (blankets), and which were eventually paid for, we’re not available. This amount ought to be refunded.
Philippe Swell first when a customer request a truck and i receive reservations my location was in Manhattan and they wanted me to go to the Bronx to pick up my truck that didn’t make sense to me at all their are other places in manhattan then the employee by the name of Matt glasses with no teeth, told me oh because of you someone did not get the truck. That’s not how you talk to a customer that’s paying nothing was free. I paid for that in advance so when I brought back the truck now this is the second time me going to that location. The first time was very customer service. I don’t think the gentleman is there anymore. His name was Mr. cruz very good I know next time I don’t know. I will go to that location. I will try somewhere else in Harlem. I was comfortable because it’s around the corner from me, but knowing that you have somebody there that I feel very unprofessional

RUDOLPH SI was upset that the Van I ordered was not there. I was told the person did not return it on time. How is that my issue? I did not feel comfortable with the truck, but had people waiting for the move. I was also charged more and due the inconvenience; I should have gotten an accommodation. I was basically told "take it or leave it" I had to have my son help me park the truck. I chose a place in Manhattan where I reside, but I will rather go to the Bronx and get better service. Goodfriiend is no Good Friend.

Asena TThe clerk arrived 10 minutes late to open the store. When he did arrive he complained about there being a line. He was rude to me and the other people waiting. When he let me into the office he grumbled at me that I needed to wait because he needed to log in. When the second customer tried to get into the door, the clerk tried to push the button to unlock it but it delayed to the customer walked to another door. The clerk then grumbled to me "He's a mute, he can't hear anything." I calmly stated that what he said was very rude and wouldn't stand and listen to that so he grumbled angry excuses at me. When he finally pulled the van out of the lot and to the front, I inspected the van and notified him that the tire pressure light was on, he just said it was a faulty gauge and walked back into the building. Not wanting to further delay the rest of the customers as it had taken up a half hour already, I documented the indicator light and went on my way. I am very unhappy with this experience. I did the dropoff through the app so I wouldn't have to deal with that clerk again.
