We rented a truck to move our furniture in town to our new house. The latch on the truck was broken and so therefore every trip that we made the door opened as we were driving and furniture fell out. Multiple items were damaged, some beyond repair. There was no one to talk to about it because of course the place was closed on the weekend. When we took the truck back, again the door unlatched, and the Dolly that we had borrowed fell out. It was lost. I called this faulty equipment on their behalf because the door would not shut and remain closed as it should be. We suffered great loss from this. On Monday when they reopened, I explained to the business what had occurred over the weekend and the lost furniture. All he said was that he would check the latch. Then, although we had purchased the additional insurance to ensure that we didn’t have any damage charged to us, he blamed us for the Dolly loss and then charged us $120 plus tax for that. It stands to reason, that they should be blamed for the loss of the dolly and even reimburse us for their faulty equipment, causing our family distress and financial loss due to the furniture that was ruined. This is the worst company I have ever used a U-Haul from. I will never recommend this company to anyone and will in fact discourage people from using this place of business due to their unprofessional business practices.

SHARON SI ordered a 20' from one location who sent me verification of the uhaul to be picked up in Coldwater OH ( I requested). Once a U haul rep contacted about the pick up they said they didn't have a 20' at that location...... What is the point of requesting a specific truck at a location and it not being there? My original transaction receipt was $100 less than the charge I actually got. I had put my friend on the account to make it easier for him to pick it up. My email, My credit card. When I called Uhaul about the change in charge I was told I had to have the name on the account to approve me discuss the matter. (I paid for it with my card with my name on it) Hassle for my friend who has already done me a huge favor by tracking down ANOTHER truck at another location that was not too far away. Overcharged from original transaction and had to FIND another location to pick up.... Not cool Uhaul.
