Staff was grumpy and no masks on. The building was dirty and cluttered. There was a red plastic tape up but the staff still came super close to us. They did not take health and safety seriously in my opinion. They gave the vibe off that they were annoyed that we were returning the truck to them. Parking was super limited. Customer service was really lacking. Disregard for my families health and safety was not appreciated. It was the only return option availed to us otherwise I would have gone someplace else to return the truck. In my opinion not up to u-haul standards. My pick up location was so amazing this was a complete let down. Someone from corporate might want to visit this location and do some training.

not friendly. None of the employees where wearing a mask. There was a baby in office (one of the employees Kids) Really need to follow state guide lines on health and safety. They had a red tape across an area but the employee walk with in inches of me to get my contract paper. I was sent to the wrong location by the first uphaul agent (pickup) we wasted 40 minutes getting to the new location. The location that we where sent to was really friendly and helpful but not set up as uphauls location until 2021. The lady at Grover tool seemed really put off that we where redirected to her. The location was dirty and very little parking to return trucks. She did check us in which I was grateful for but she and the guy that checked the truck need some customer service and health and safety training.

I rented the truck for two days and was told I could return it anytime on Wednesday 11/11/2020 before closing time. Then I received a message saying I would be charged $40 for an extra day if I did not have the truck returned by 9:00 am. That was NEVER told to me when I rented the truck. Then when I did return the truck on 11/11/2020, I get told that I also was charged an additional $28 for insurance. ANOTHER THING THAT WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME AT THE RENTAL LOCATION OR ALL THE PHONE CONVERSATIONS I HAD WITH UHAUL!! All in all, this was a terrible experience for me and I will NEVER use this service again!!!

They had my order all messed up, and at first said I didn't have a truck. Once I produced my printed confirmation (thank goodness I did that) they found my order. They also charged me $10 for moving blankets, but did not give me any. And no one working there were wearing masks, nor did they make customers wear masks - right when SLO county is having the highest number of covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Also, the truck was not full on gas, and we had to fill it before dropping it off.

Customer service was excellent. I had a hiccup returning the vehicle after hours. Better instructions listed on how to return a vehicle after hours using the app would be appreciated. I locked the vehicle and dropped the keys before properly going through this process - not aware I would need to take pictures of the fuel and mileage gage, and cleanliness the van was left. Fortunately customer service was able to help during normal business hours.

I was confused whether to follow the instructions i was getting in texts from Uhaul vs. following the instructions from the place i rented from. Also there was some mix-up with truck and paperwork I received, but thankfully it got all straightened out after the fact and the Uhaul representative was helpful in resolving that.

Truck was not available upon the guaranteed time, and I had to wait nearly two hours. I lost money on the movers standing by for this waiting time. It was especially frustrating because there was a truck on site that they wouldn't let me us. I understand the truck was for someone else, but they weren't picking it up until later in the day and in my opinion made sense to just switch our trucks to make everyone happy. I also understand that it was a one way truck and your system doesn't allow you to switch them, but from my point of view it was just sitting there not being used. This is a policy U-Haul may want to consider revising. Truck was somewhat clean, but I had to sweep out the dirt from the bed, which was not that big of an issue considering it was 2 hours late and I just wanted to get going. Also, the truck seemed significantly worn down compared to the last uhaul truck I used. Maybe the local trucks are more run down that the one way trucks, I don't know. I would like to recover some of the money I lost on the movers since the pickup time was guaranteed (maybe U-Haul has a different definition of guaranteed...). If reimbursements are on the table, I don't want this coming out of the local business's pocket. This was a U-Haul policy that preventing me from using the truck that was available.

The location was in crisis mode (someone had lost a set of keys to a truck) and because of this I had someone helping me who did not know how to answer any of my questions and actually gave me misinformation. I asked for her to get clarification from someone who had worked there for a while (she was new) and they also gave me misinformation. They assured me I would be able to do a one-way drop off “anywhere in Sacramento” with no extra fee. I explained how I believed that to be untrue as l had a brother who used to work for Uhaul and he was pretty sure there would/could be a charge associated. They assured me otherwise, several times. I went to drop my truck off at a location closer to the house I just moved into, and was told I'd have to pay a fee. Luckily, the manager there was sympathetic to the issues I encountered at the shop in Grover and waved the fee. Additionally, I was given the wrong equipment. The truck I received was in working order and had everything I needed, but when it came to confirming mileage and gas levels, it was a bit of a headache. I called as I was driving off the lot to explain I thought I had the wrong truck and the woman who took the call (I believe her name was Becky) was rude and accused me of taking the wrong truck. I explained I was not responsible for making that decision and was given the truck and she sounded confused when she asked me to verify the mileage - yeah, BECAUSE IT WAS THE WRONG TRUCK. I asked, and she assured, that she had updated the information on my reservation so that I would not run into any issues when I went to drop the equipment off. Later in the move, I made the mistake of locking the keys in the Uhaul, and requested Roadside Assistance. The man who was dispatched was prompt and very nice and had me the keys in no time. When they contacted me to verify my location though, they had the wrong equipment number associated with my reservation. I assumed this was because the information wasn't updated correctly on the Pick up location's end. This did not hinder the solution, but was still annoying considering everything else I'd had to deal with at this location. Moving is stressful! Usually I can and have been able to count on Uhaul to help make the process less stressful - I'd still like this to be the case at other locations. After the service I was given at this location, I will go out of my way to avoid doing business there because of the disorder and unprofessionalism I witnessed.

Comment: The truck was unsafe. I took a look around the vehicle as the contract was being processed in the office.. The rear tire was severely damaged with glue applied (THE DAMAGE WAS SEVERELY GOUGED SIDEWALLS, WITH 3 INCH GAUGES GLUED IN PLACE TO MASK THE DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I have forwarded the images I took to an attorney so that steps may be taken against haul to prevent injury and/or death in the future. What can you do? Don't risk the lives of customers. Don't do shoddy safety inspections. Don't deceive the public. Re-establish to your members or franchisees that safety is the primary concern.

None of the employees were wearing masks. The person cleaning the trucks WASNT WEARING A MASK!!!! There were no sneeze guards in the lobby. Just a piece of tape to keep you back a few feet and people sitting right next to each other behind the counter with NO MASKS!!! Even some of the customers didn't wear masks. It's MANDATORY STATE LAW to wear a mask. Why didn't they? Why did they all risk my life!!!!????

I reserved online and even did the on line check in. When I get there, there was a note on the front door that indicates for U Haul rentals, go to the back of the building. There was no truck waiting for me. They were not even expecting me. When I found someone working on machinery in the back yard area, I told him I was there to pick up my rental truck. I gave him my name. He told me to go around front. I went back to the front. I called out, but nobody was there. I waited a couple minutes and a lady came out and knew nothing of my pending rental. She found it on the computer and tried to sell me insurance. I told her I already bought the insurance. She tried to sell me more. I told her I already did everything on line including checking in. She said she had to go over everything with me anyway. That defeats the purpose of on line check in. They didn't go over the truck with me. I rented an appliance dolly, but it wasn't with the truck. When I asked for it, they argued with me, telling me I didn't need it because this U Haul truck didn't have a ramp. I had no idea the truck did not have a ramp. But I still needed the dolly. After getting the dolly, I left. They never went over the truck with me. I inspected it and there was no damage. I received an e mail where I needed to verify mileage, fuel and no damage on truck. It was all correct, so I verified. When I brought the truck back 2 hours later, I gave the same lady the key. She said they would look at the truck at a later time and send me an e mail of the final bill. This didn't seem right, but before I Left, I told her the Number of miles I used. I wanted to make sure that was right. I KNOW HOW MANY MILES I USED. Their final bill to me charged me an increase of 30% of the miles. If they did a final inspection, and wrote down exactly what the odometer indicated, this could not have happened. They should have completed it while I was there. There were no other customers around when I picked up and dropped off. This has impropriety written all over it. I am very unhappy about the lack of professionalism And the overall experience. I will NOT be utilizing this location for my rentals in the future.

Pick up was nice and easy. When I went to drop off the truck, I went out back as instructed, but nobody was around to collect the keys. After a few minutes of waiting I walked to another section of the yard where two employees were working. I was told they would call for somebody. I returned and waited longer. Finally the employee that I spoke to came and collected the keys. They need to put a button or have someway to recognize waiting customers.

Both pick up and drop off locations were great. However, I dread renting from uhaul every time. Your customer service is horrible. I have had to deal with poor equipment, being told 24 hours before a move that the equipment I rented isn't available (2 times), and rude customer service on the phone. I really never have anything positive to say about uhaul - but unfortunately you are a monopoly and are the only option. It appears that you rely on this monopoly and care very little for your customer experience.

I was given credit to drop off in another city which caused me to go over my allotted miles and cost me over 40.00. I was also given an incorrect return address and waited over 15 minutes on hold to speak to someone for the correct address. This put me past the 8am deadline to return the truck. No really good.
