There was no place to sit when needing to take photos of my Driver’s License. I was not strong enough to open the lock, which was upside down and difficult to enter the alphabetic code into, when I got it open, the lock box was empty and did not contain the key to the van I rented. There was a nice Hispanic couple, who spoke little English, and lived in the same building as the business. The wife was not strong enough to open the lock on the lock box either. The husband had keys to the business. He eventually found a key that opened the door, entered the business and gave me the van key. The van had almost no gas in it. Usually when you rent a vehicle it is not almost empty. I went to this location because it was the only one with a van. I have used 2 other locations in Santa Barbara that were far better. The whole process of picking up the van was time consuming and stressful!

PAUL CThe "lot" where the van is kept is a TINY triangle of asphalt, and I left my car in place of the van. Someone there called me to ask me to move my car, threatening to tow me! There is no street parking or other parking lots nearby so there was nowhere else I could have left my car for the day. Bad, stressful experience. I wouldn't partner with this place if I were UHaul -- gives an otherwise customer-centric company a bad rep.
John RThe U-Haul inside was filled with napkins and trash and sand all inside the back cubbies that are on the walls of the van. There was stuff spilled under the seats, and the customer service was atrocious. I will never be renting with you again.
