The initial pick up location the truck wasn't returned in time. The previous renter still had it and was just unloading his items at the time of my pick up. The lady on the customer support line was great. She was able to re route me to another location that had a 10ft truck. The truck was in poor condition. Maintenance wise oil at 0% life. The Rear left tire was at 25PSI while the others were at 75-80PSI. Not great when you have to load the entire truck up with weight. Renting a u-haul is necessary task and something always goes wrong with booking or the vehicle.

The location was convenient so we tried it. At pick up, lots of units available, worker was available and quickly processed. The unit assigned was buried three units deep and buried in snow, had to go in ask for a new unit which was granted. Then the hitch pin was too small and no actual class 3 pins available. Had to drive 20 mins to find a proper pin. The unit had a loose ball receiver, held the ball but not very securely. The return involved a different worker who was unprofessional, insulting and agressive. The lot was full, extremely tight (not enough room to straighten the trailer) so the trailer was parked along the building (in the private u-haul parking lot). This is when the worker came out and began berating me for not parking the trailer where he wanted it parked. Despite telling him it was too tight (one car length wide) space for my skill level to safely park without hitting other u-haul property, he repeated insulted me, spoke aggressively, raised voice, continued to increase in agitation. The worker then threatened me with a $50 surcharge for him to maneuver the trailer, then continued to insult me. At the point, he was sufficiently agitated that the safe choice was to exit the situation. The worker then picked up the trailer tongue, effortlessly pushed the trailer towards the spot he wanted, watching the ball receiver drag along the asphalt before stopping. For safety reasons, this location should be avoided.

Well maintained, but it is winter in Calgary and the van was covered in road grime. And slush when I returned it. Blizzard then melting temps.

This location stole my credit card information. They said they needed to see my card again to verify it after already completing the reservation online. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION.

It was a bad experience at this location. I’ve used U-Haul before and had no problems, but this time there was an engine light on, and the driving cabin was not clean and smelled bad. I had to keep the window open the whole time. I also informed the staff that there was an issue with the truck, but they did not seem to care or take any action. Overall, it was the worst experience driving a 20-foot truck. This vehicle should not be given to customers without a proper inspection.

I don’t understand, why that location has low reviews on Google, to be honest judging on how some of the customers who’s using equipment return it and park all over the place - explaining a lot why they leave low reviews. They simply don’t have ability to drive Uhaul trucks, or how to back up trailer. I been renting from that place 3 times already and every time I had great experience. Thank you U-haul Hawkstone NW.

Make sure you put online that the cost is not what you quote. The mileage cost is ridiculous. If I had known ahead of time what you were charging for mileage I would never have rented the truck. Your cost should be criminalized. I felt like I had genuinely been robbed of my cash when I left. The greed just never stops.

You charged me for fuel (around $9). Even though I filled the fuel to more than I found it. When I rented the Uhaul, the fuel was at 7/16th just under half, and I filled it to around half (more than I found it).

the owner really seemed concerned about doing the right thing, although he would not recognize my temporary (paper, no picture) drivers license, or even realize it was a drivers license. Fortunately I had a second person with a regular picture drivers license and he accepted that without problem.

Truck had major issues with the steering and suppression, check engine light was on, truck was low on fuel, fuel economy was 2km/liter, and truck was dirty inside and out. Couldn't check in on the app and the guy behind the counter kept walking away to help customers who were using the gas station side. Took me about 40 min from the time I got there until I was driving away. Return went smooth.

When renting a vehicle, there should be one person handling all other transactions and one person to finish the rental transaction. Constantly stopping to help others buying pop etc, is inconvenient to those of us who are spending much more by renting the trucks. There was another man there an older gentleman that could easily have handled all the other transactions, but did not. I suspect maybe he was the owner. The young man doing the rentals was a very nice conscientious, friendly person, but again there needs to be two people dedicated to helping all customers in a timely and efficient manner.

This location has too many things on the go and only one person working. They have parcel pick up and drop off, gas station, convenience store and who knows what else. The clerk was on the phone the whole time while dealing with multiple people and poor instruction. The truck was covered in snow and ice and I couldn't leave the lot until 2:40 with a 2:00 pick up time because I was blocked in by a fuel truck filling the underground tanks. The store is filthy inside with packages everywhere and customers standing around looking at each other. Check engine light was on. Below average for sure.

I rented a single axle covered cargo trailer 5X8. Tire Pressures on this little Trailer were 58 PSI on both sides...ridiculous for such small tires and the small capacity of the trailer. Also rented the trailer hitch that was a very loose fit in my Standard Ford Receiver. Rattled severely. Lights on trailer all worked properly.

The vehicle and location were good, but the mobile checkin is pretty awful. It takes forever, it wouldn’t accept any of the pictures of the truck so it wouldn’t progress to the next screen. Very likely I would just checkin in store next time to save the hassle of using the app.

OVERCHARGED FOR THE GAS TO REFILL THE TRUCK. I ASKED THE EMPLOYEE THERE ABOUT THE GAS TANK CAPACITY AND HIS ANSWER WAS 200 L. WHEN I CHECKED LATER THE RECEIPT/INVOICE IT WAS STATED THERE 151 L. NO TRANSPARENCY.
