The process is not well defined. The need fo download an app to pick up a truck is ridiculous. Most U-Haul rentals are one way or one day and yet another app is annoying. This was a used car lot that is not in the best place and not easy to work around the cars to get the truck. Having to them drive back to the dealer to pick up the requested dolly, hand truck and blankets was unexpected and annoying.Janet S.

I did not drop my truck at teh location above. I dropped it at 2307 Elmwood, Columbia. No one was there and next day I had to return and once again, no one was there. Multiple calls to Uhaul to ensure truck was agreed as returned. Horrible customer experience.Ronald U.
I got a call as to the truck we had setup was not there and we need to go to 2307 Main St to pick up the truck at 10:30 am he was not there and the phone there is cut off so we left there we did see a U -Haul up the road she call Brandy and they had to call his cell and we had to go back there he show up at 11am he could not do the paper work he call some guy and had him do it and he could not give us any paper work as he did not have a printer and was told I get it in my email we did rent a dolly and then he told us I don't have one so I took it off omg we had to go back to 1037 Elmwood Ave to get a dolly she call Brandy and Brandy told us we would get a $50.00 credit back but we have not seen one yet his office was so nasty you could not set down it took us tell 11:30 to get the truck i don't think he need to be renting U-Haul .I don't know if i will ever rent a U-Haul this was so bad running here and there Thank you for your time Erin Blocker ( 404-316-7300we clean the truckErin B.

Wow was this a horrible experience. The guy had no idea what was going on it seemed. Then he sent me to the truck, said it was clean and the keys were in it. It was locked and had trash in it. Didn't have all the equipment I needed--said I could try the other haul place down the road. The building he was in literally looked like it should be condemned. He had messed up my order which took the other haul place down the road that had the rest of my equipment half an hour to fix before they could give me my dolly. One of the worse experiences I remember in recent memory. I tried calling corporate several times to leave a review with a manager but never got through and finally gave up.HEATH D.

I waited for over thirty minutes for the manager of the location to show up, and when I was on the phone with customer service letting them know there was no one there he told them he was pulling up. When he finally decided to show up 10 minutes after he said he was pulling he in, he took his sweet time getting out of his car and was carrying a McDonald's bag, so he clearly did not care we had been waiting. I was told nothing about the truck and just handed the keys. I did not know about being charged for over mileage so I was surprised to hear that when I returned the truck. I was given no directions on what location to return the truck in Chapel Hill, and had to call customer service again to get this information.corey W.

The representative there was late. The phone number on the uhaul site was invalid, as was the phone number on the sign there. I had actually left there and tried another uhaul site down the road as I didn't think they were going to open due to the person there being so late to open. The uhaul rep onthe phone I then talked to then reserved a hand truck for me thinking that I wanted that instead of a tow dolly. I even described the equipment as the two wheel dolly you put the front 2 wheels of a vehicle on and then towed it.Jeremy C.

When I arrived at 10 to pick up my vehicle, dolly, and blankets store was not open. At 1015 person arrived to work. He took a photocopy of my DL and told me my truck was on the next door lot. I asked about my blankets and dolly. He told me he does not have them and I needed to go to UHAUL store around the corner to get them. Truck cab was dirty and gas was below a quarter of a tank. When I went to uhaul location to get my blankets and dolly I was told that this was not a the way things are done. I did not have any paperwork and over the next hour the uhaul clerk worked to get me my blankets and dolly. I was delayed by and hour and a half by the poor customer service I received.Mark T.

Well, I had to upsize from a 15 ft truck to a 20 truck and the charge was more in that I was given a 20% discount on-line and was not given the discount on the 20 foot truck. That was a big disappointment and I even returned the truck a day earlier and still got charged the insurance for the day I didn't use it. People were nice but I wasn't happy with my loss of discount and a day of insurance I had to pay even though I returned the truck a day early.Robert P.

I went into the West Columbia location to reserve the trailer 5 days before I needed it. On the day I went to pick it up Uhaul called and asked what time I was coming. Which I thought was good. We agreed on 2:00. I went to the West Columbia store, where I reserved it and they told me it was not at their location and that I had to drive 10 miles from there into down town. I saw that there were 3 of the trailers on site and I asked about them and they said those were reserved. I asked what I had in my hand that they have given me on Manoday and they said it was a reservation. But Corporate had moved mine to downtown. Those were reserved for someone else. So I drove downtown to a very small Uhaul store that I would not send my wife to to pick up or deliver anything. Very disappointed overall. The Uhaul center where I set up the order was very nice and the trailers looked almost new. The one that I received had spray paint down the side, the trailer was beat up a good bit and very dirty inside. Last week my daughter rented a trailer to pick up furniture and they scheduled her to pick up her trailer on that sunday at a place that was not even open on sunday and had to send her to a different location that postponed her trip that day by several hours. Very unhappy right now.David L.

The owner/employer was friendly but not helpful. He could not explain what something on contract meant. When we needed his help hitching the dolly, he was inside the building on the phone and wouldn't acknowledge me. A set of the brake/signal lights fell out of the dolly while we were driving. After that happened the other set of brake/signal lights wouldn't work. Poor customer service and equipment.Janae D.

don't allow customers to reserve a trailer for pick-up on Sat and return on Sunday when the location is not open on the weekend! The attendant attached the trailer, and a mile down the road, the trailer pulled the hitch off the car and the whole thing hit the pavement. While waiting for the roadside assistance, 2 city cops and another man worked on it and got me back on the road.B Jean B.

I did an online reservation for a 10 foot truck in a specific location in Columbia, SC. The night before, I learned that I would get a 14 foot truck instead and I needed to pick it up at a more distant location. After leaving I discovered the 'Mileage Out" figure was 35 miles lower than the actual odometer reading. The oil change light was on throughout the trip. Then I only got 6 miles per gallon with a truck that was only 15-20% full of furniture. On the plus side, the truck was clean, ran well, and the U-Haul reps at both ends were helpful in not charging me for the mistaken "Mileage Out' reading. A.M.ALAN M.

The management at 2307 Main St is very helpful and polite. The lot is rather small, so options are limited. To be absolutely fair in the "no" responses given in this review, this location is currently in a part of town that city efforts have been attempting to revitalize after years of neglectâ€¦and the efforts taking shape are making a great change - the overall transformation is not yet complete. The manager/owner should not be judged for conditions in the general area, which are improving each month. Very good customer service there. Our only issue with this rental was the equipment; specifically the 20' truck (TT 1897D - AE09729 AZ). This truck only had 37K miles on it, so the problem experienced is probably uncommon. While refueling before returning the truck, the fuel gauge "stuck" and did not give an accurate reading (even though the ignition switch was activated 2-3 separate times during fueling to prevent "over filling"). Result: ultimately paid for 18.8 gallons when only 9.4 gallons was needed to return this truck with the required "1/2 tank" fuel level, as it was when picked up. Maybe the extremely high humidity & temperature on June 26th contributed to the gauge malfunctioning (which it did not do on a previous fuel stop). Am waiting for the $32.50 overcharge to be credited to the card used we for this rental (seems fair enough, as the service fee charged customers would be much more than this if returned with less fuel than when originally picked up). Otherwise, good experience. Be careful when fueling this truck.ASHLEY A.
