ARNOLD DI was surprised to see this location closed at noon on Sunday, this used to be a very active hardware store. When i picked it for the return I didn't have any indication it would be closed. I've use it before but I could have taken it somewhere else. I left it outside their gate where several other U-Haul units were stored. I called them in the AM to make sure they got it and they were really friendly. I couldn't get the app to work until Monday AM.
ROBERT HThe experience I had with the U-Haul at True Value in Ridgecrest, CA, was great!!! From pick up to return everything went very smoothly! Everyone was very friendly well trained! Kudos to tnem all!!

RICHARD MWe always rent trailers from here, never had a problem until yesterday. We needed to use a 6x12 trailer with ramp, the trailer is not a true 6x12!!! The opening is about 4 feet! So it was a waste of money and time. When I asked the guy what happened to the 6x12 trailers that completely open in the back he said “this is the biggest trailer we have” not understanding what I was talking about. So beware if you need a true 6 foot opening.

ANGIE CThe first truck I was given did not have a place to plug my phone in..no USB. It had two 12 volt charge ports but those are useless. Truck DC10228. This should be remedied. The great staff then brought out another truck. DC124312 that had a port to I could charge and use my phone to listen to you tube tv on the long drives. Unfortanely this truck had a fuel inlet problem. I could not place fuel in the tank unless I held the pump trigger at a slow rate and even then it was .3 gallons at a time and it would click off. It was like the pump thought the trucks tank was full and was trying to prevent and overflow. This happened at 4 different gas stations..so it was the truck and not the pump. This caused me a lot of wasted time trying to fill the tank. I called for roadside help and got ref # 3210108 but no one could come out the evening of 2/20 and it was inconvenient to wait for them the next morning. I took my chance that I could get fuel into the tank which was my biggest concern, and continued on our journey.

CHRISTINE FThe tow/haul button did not work. The transmission was slipping. Also, the location did not offer a walkaround of the vehicle, and inaccurately recorded the starting mileage, resulting in an overcharge in excess of $400.
JOSEPH BTruck only had 13,000-ish miles, but didn't idle well. Guessing ignition related problems. Door seal on passenger side damaged (by shoes getting in/out of cab). Otherwise unit in fine working order and clean.

JAMES HDropping off trailer Sunday the business was not open. I dropped the trailer in a small area outside the locked gate. Tight fit between two large trucks. No personnel to help as the business was closed.

JAMES HThis was one of the most difficult, stressful moving experiences I've ever had. The process was extremely cumbersome & the location pick-up location seemed to be understaffed & generally under-equipped to handle the challenges being presented to them. We reserved the equipment way in advance, but when the time came, the equipment we reserved was not available & while the staff was trying, it felt like the weight of the world was on the customers' shoulders to piece together solutions on move day.

DELVON AAll the paperwork says that you are refunded if you bring it back early, but no one could help me with that. All I got was shoulder shrugs to which I got tired of standing in 110 degree heat trying to figure it out.
Mace RI was very disappointed at this rental location. I had a reservation for a two o’clock pick up and took care of the necessary paperwork. We then were escorted out to the trailer. There were two transports. After a quick inspection I noticed the straps that go over the tires (transport) were rotten and broken (unusable) and brought it to the attention of the attendant. He then instructed us to pull over to the other transport. When we drove to it the office called him and said the unit was reserved already and we would have to call roadside assistance. We went round and round for 45 mins as I tried to convince him that our reservation took priority over the one later in the afternoon. He didn’t see it that way as he said we already sighed the contract for that unit. I told him this was totally unacceptable but he remained adamant. He then tried to contact roadside assistance for us because there were zero transports in Ridgecrest and we would have a choice to wait or drive 70 miles to another town. I was pretty much done with is person by now as we had no leeway in time to continue on. Then the owner manager showed up and was able to work out a solution for us. We ended up taking the good trailer and the poor fella that had the later reservation was stuck with the bad trailer. This was not my problem. Basically I’m upset because why aren’t these units maintained a bit closer by the regional Uhaul manager? Nobody had any record of maintenance and the license plate was dated April of 2020. I mentioned to the attendant that one of the license plate lights was busted and just hanging by the wire. He told me to take a picture of any damage and it would be fine. By this time I just wanted to get gone. I did take the picture and when I tried to use the link to document the damage, the link had expired. When I got to my destination I popped out the old rivets and just repaired it myself. The drop off people documented the incident I’m presume. I have yet to find any documentation for this and any of my last 4 Uhaul rentals. Isn’t this what the Uhaul app is for??? Short story long, I did make it to my destination thank god but I guarantee you if there is any competition for trailers in the future I will make Uhaul my second choice. You guys have really gone downhill from the looks of things.

SHARON WI drove 200 miles and when I got there they told me I could not rent the truck unless I came up with 2 referrences?! This was on a Saturday and non of my contacts were answering!!! You think they could let you know this before you drove 200 miles!!! I never heard of needing contacts and referrences to rent a U-Haul truck before, it was a total fiasco!!!
Ellen BI dropped the truck off at the Home center not a U-Haul. Their store and staff were clean and professional unlike the people that U-Haul And I’d be happy to refer people to the Home center because they were all just lovely people. I would shoot my arms before I would ever tell somebody to rent a truck from U-Haul.
