This location is a hardware store first and uhaul second ,after going inside and telling the lady I was there to drop off a truck she called for the uhual guy who promptly came In,I stood quietly as he went over every inch of the truck inspecting for damage which was tedious because I was in a huge rush and I had the full coverage insurance from uhaul so I wasn't liable for anything

I think the small towns are treated unfairly . In the last year I have needed a rental truck and each time the UHaul location tried to get me to drive another 40 minutes to pick up the truck and drive back to my home. I stood my ground this time and refused to go elsewhere. I had to wait another day. If a customer reserves a truck the company should ensure the customer gets what they want.

The reservation experience was horrible .. I reserved online and thought my reservation was set only to find out that there was nothing available to me with in 60 miles and because of that I would have to drive over an hour out my way to get my equipment.

The manager was rude to the employee in front of us when we can to get the blankets that they forgot to give us. It was hard watching the mgr embarrass an employee for no reason. The employee, Diana, handled the missing blankets very well!!!

The trailer was a total piece of crap. Only half of the trailer SAFETY lighting was operable and the forward top left anti-collision light was completely missing. I did a lights check with the yard workers before I left and they gave me a thumbs up on the lights check even though only half the lights illuminated. I should never have taken their word for something so important. The trailer was dirty and dented all around. I should have gotten more for my money. Even the uhaul rep at the destination said that this trailer should not have been rented out.

Biggest complaint was that the inside of the truck was not that clean. The dash board, cup holders, and inside of the windshield were all dirty.

I asked about doing a walk around to make sure everything was okay and I got shrugged off. The gas cap was broken and we couldn't read the dash panel. The ramp was broke and waited over two hours for roadside service. On the trip the engine light came on, the transmission was jerky during shifting and we had false readings on all of the gages probably due to the gas cap and engine light being on. The gas gage would not read properly.

Tru Value always takes pride in there UHAUL equipment. I have always rented good equipment from them. I don't even try to rent at any of the other UHAUL locations. The last time I tried to rent a at a different UHAUL location other than the Tru Value location, I refused the rental because of the low standards of the other retailers. I never worry about if the tires are bad. If the tires are bad, they will send you with a different rental. Thanks Tru Value for keeping high standards. I will rent from them again.

My local UHaul dealer was great and had excellent customer service. The truck was clean and functioned well. Overall the local office was great. I cannot say the same for Corporate UHaul. I made a reservation for a 26 foot truck on Oct. 19th for pick up at 8 am on Nov. 5th. On Nov. 4th I received a voicemail from UHual informing me only a 20 foot truck would be available and I could pick it up at 1 PM. I called back and spoke a female operator (I believe her name was "Betty"). I explained the 20 foot truck would be fine but I needed it at 8 am NOT 1 pm. Betty was rude, sarcastic, and argumentative through out our conversation. At one point she yelled into the phone and continued to be rude. I told "Betty" she needed serious work on her customer service skills. As a representative of the UHaul company she should be reprimanded. I will NEVER use Uhaul again based on this experience. It is easy to see customers are not a priority to UHaul especially in the Ridgecrest area. When I asked about the $50 Reservation Guarantee "Betty" said, "That's why I am calling you the day before" and explained I am not entitled. If UHaul waits until the day before to notify their customers they do not have the proper equipment and the truck is not available at the reserved time then what is the point of this guarantee and why should a customer make a reservation so far in advance? I am shocked and by the lack of customer service and will not ever reserve a truck from UHaul again. I would like my $50 credit though. Hopefully someone in UHaul Management reads this.

When I called the 800 number for a reservation , I requested a utility dolly. At the location there was not one available. I called the 800 number back at drop off in Tehachapi and informed them I did not get a dolly byt was still charged for it. They said they would check with the high desert home center to make sure I did not get one. I still have not been credited for the dolly I did not get, not to mention I missed a confirmation call and was given a 15 foot truck, instead of 20 foot and had to leave some things in Ridgecrest I could not fit in truck. So none of this is High Desert home Center's fault, just the road blocks along the way that was stressful.
