I selected the option to pick up the U-Haul through the app, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to complete the process through the app, so I had to go inside. The location was in an area where I personally did not feel very safe, especially since it was at night. It is located at a gas station, with a hotel nearby, and there was a lot of activity and people coming and going. I don’t want to make assumptions or judge anyone based on their appearance or circumstances, but the overall environment made me feel very uncomfortable and uneasy. I would recommend being aware of your surroundings, especially if you are picking up a vehicle after dark. The U-Haul itself also had a strong smell of marijuana. The employee’s attitude also made the experience uncomfortable. There was also some difficulty communicating. English is not my first language, and I have an accent myself. The employee also had an accent, so at times I genuinely had difficulty understanding what he was saying. I completely understand that everyone speaks English differently, and I have no issue with that. However, when I asked him to repeat himself because I genuinely couldn’t understand what he was saying, he seemed annoyed and asked me in a frustrated tone if I couldn’t understand him. I was genuinely trying to understand him and simply needed him to repeat or clarify what he was saying. I wish the interaction had been handled with a little more patience and understanding. At the end of the rental, we also felt like there may have been an attempt to charge us more than expected. We didn’t use many miles, returned the vehicle with the same amount of gas, and there was no damage. However, the way everything was handled left us feeling like they were trying to take advantage of us. We decided not to argue or make the situation bigger because it was late at night, there were many people around, and we did not feel comfortable staying there any longer. Our priority was simply to leave safely. We needed the U-Haul in an emergency, so we didn’t have many options at the time. However, if we had more time and other options, this definitely would not have been my first choice. I’m sharing this review so other customers can be aware of the location and the overall experience, particularly if picking up a vehicle after dark.

Very helpful and efficient assistant for new users

Upon returning U-Haul the sales manager made me take a picture of the speedometer instead of coming out himself. Stating I can’t leave from behind the corner. He was extremely rude when asked about the process for returning the truck sarcastically stating call customer support.

There were delays when I went to pick up the truck and when I dropped it off. Even though I completed all the steps in the app, the person who I picked up the keys from took a picture of my Driver's License which made me uncomfortable.
