We had a very poor experience with uhaul and will never use them again. We booked a 26' truck for Sunday May 28. On Saturday May 27, we revieved a text confirmation that our 26' truck would be available for pick up at 11 am. The following morning, 1 and a half hours before pick up, we recieved a call stating we were only getting a 20' truck. We were moving 3 hours away and a 20' truck was not suitable for our 5 bedroom house and I explained that to them. The call center agent hung up on me three times. The location of pickup had 2 26' trucks but stated they were only for "local" moves. In the end, we had to get a 26' truck meant for local moves but had to return it back to that location, resulting in more gas usage and milage. We spent an hour trying to get this fixed, which took away from our moving time and we didn't end up being done moving until 9 pm. The driver of the uhaul then had to drive 3 hours to return the equipment. I was then phoned on the Monday stating we didn't return the truck. We have pictures showing that we did. The agent said she would check with the rental place. This experience was terrible and I will be advising all our friends and family not to use uhaul again.Theresa L.

Very difficult to access off of Huntington Road as it is very busy and the access is not very clearly marked. I also wonder whether it was Surjit at the location, or the other u-haul staff who called me. They called me the next day wondering when I was going to drop the trailer off. I told Surjit that I was dropping both the truck and the trailer off, as I do not have another vehicle to tow with.Susan P.

U Haul in Abbotsford did not have the trailer, but found another location 10 minutes away that did. She organized everything set it up was wonderful. The chap at the other location was not quite as accommodating and not that helpful, but respectable. Overall, U-Haul is a great company for the most part, their equipment is world classROBERT F.

Was ok once we got the uhaul a day late as the prior customer didnt return it. But was not happy that as our help booked time off work to help move us and I wasn't about to travel an extra hour each way to pick up the uhaul and get it back to where we were moving from. I feel that there needs to be more of a consequence for not returning on time as 2 people could have worked and missed being paid for the day. We were just lucky we had a good landlord and they were ok with us staying an extra night.Michelle G.

Reserved a 10' truck to pick up on industrial ave in Chilliwack. Received an email 24 hours ahead of pick up advising To pick truck up at Huntington. Arrived at Huntington to pick up truck, and clerk (Gurpreet?) advised he couldn't find our booking / reservation in the system ? Supplied a 26' van , advised no smaller equip available ? There was a 15' van on the lot ! This made us change trip plans, as we where only transporting outdoor furniture , ( maybe 1200 lbs). We planned on taking the Coquihalla Hwy (mountain pass), but didn't want to drive this big a truck with minimal weight (for safety). We had to take a longer route with less elevation, Fuel cost was increased and added 1 hour travel time. The vehicle had 1/8 tank of fuel at pick up, and interior of cab was dirty, box had dirt / broken glass.Jacques L.

Should be an actual uhual Rep helping you out. I don't blame the gas station guy. He helped through the payment process but that's about it. If it was an actual Rep they would probably assist you with trailer hook up. If I was someone who didn't know how too I'm not sure what they'd do. Trailer should also have rear Straps as well.Greg P.

Attendant was unprofessional and unhelpful. He took $20 from me to rent pads from him, then when I asked him where they are he said he had no idea and that he hasn't had any for months. I asked questions to which he had no answers and tried to rush me out of the store. He said he would take the money off, but never bothered to.Joel K.

The gas was not at the 1/2 mark as they claimed. I used it for 10 miles and tried to top up the tank a bit but it was broken and I mentioned this to the staff at the location and he said it would be done by U-Haul employee. So I went to leave it at the front of the store where the gas was and he nearly yelled at me saying I had to return it to the back. So I did after explaining I thought we were going to put gas in. So I moved it then he charged me for not putting gas in after using 10miles of gas. So I put it at the back and left the key for the â€œother personâ€ and he chased me as I was leaving asking for the key and I said I left it in the seat for the â€œother personâ€ and then he yelled at me calling me stupid. No one was there! The store itself was closed (listed online as open at 6:00am) and nobody arrived until 10:00 am, and that was after calling head office Uhaul for assistance. Terribly snagged up the moving daysteve K.
The truck we rented had broken windshield wipers so halfway driving home we had to turn around and get them fixed. The guy at UHaul didn't know how to put the new ones on, so I had to do it! THEN we get to our home, open up the back of the truck and it was covered with wet soil and smelled like marijuana plants!! Horrible STRONG odour. The walls were also coated in ink that came off when you touched it and inappropriate words were written on the wall! When we called Uhaul they struggled to understand our issue because of a language barrier. They just said the truck was returned to them in the middle of the night. We did our best to deodorize and clean the truck as we had no other option to move. Horrible experience. We will not go back!Chad A.

We got the truck back to the house after almost an hour of struggle with the store clerk, just to open the back of the truck and see dirt everywhere and Marijuana plant still scattered around the back, it took my sister and myself an hour at least to clean the back enough so we could ruin my sisters new sheets just so we could put her stuff in the back, the odor if Marijuana was so strong it made all my sisters things smell like pot, so not only does her belonging smell like Marijuana, her entire house now has a lingering smell because the employees at this location didn't do their job what so ever.. literally if I could rate it "0" I would.. worst service I've ever experienced woth U-Haul.Tyler B.
***-READ COMPLETELY-*** This location has a consistent track record of not having the equipment they advertise. I booked a 20ft truck and when I arrived I was told it's just not there as if it's ok and I shouldn't be upset. My move on Sunday December 11th was time sensitive and when I originally placed my RESERVATION (meaning you reserve a vehicle) I received a call stating the equipment was not at the Hazelwood Ave location in Abbotsford but was moved to HuntingdonGas Station in Abbotsford which was ok at the time. Coming to the day of the move, I find out the truck isn't there and I have to settle for a 15ft truck because â€œ one truck is in the shop and a customer didn't return a truck on time.â€ I understand that things do come up however U-Haul is a big enough company where the above problems shouldn't be my problem. I pay good money to not have to deal with internal U Haul problems and just get my truck, move my things and then return the truck. U Haul Neighborhood Dealer located at 32375 Huntington Road, Abbotsford,BC, V2T5Y9 needs a thorough review of its license to provide u haul equipment as my own friend has dealt with this exact same problem at this this location. My closing questions are 1) How long will it take for U Haul to look into this serious problem before it gets out of control? 2) How much will U Haul suffer in loss of business (money) due to customers going elsewhere? 3) How far off track has this location gone with managing the most basic business practices of reflecting accurate and up to date inventory of U haul units? 4) Does my experience that I had seem to align with U hauls core beliefs? I book the truck with package(bed cover, box), but the system defaulted the location of the said package, So, the first location wouldn't give me the box/bed cover. I had to purchase it separately. Only after looking through the order could I find out why. But the lady at the first location couldn't see the said package from her side of the computer adding to confusion. Then the drop off location, was 800 to 1km from the actual drop off location. They forced me to walk it. He rushed the process as he was dealing with another customer who was there earlier than me. But he did not communicate he needed the mileage clearly, only the gas. He then tried to charge me 12 but for not having enough gas. He tried to gaslight me saying it was misunderstanding, but he clearly said: it was a bit above 5/8th now its at 5/8th exactly. I had to wall back down to the lot and take another picture. When then he claimed he never said that. Would love to never have to deal with these situation. The first lady did nothing wrong. 2nd location, very displeased.Soon young K.

We reserved about a month before and it was confirmed the day before. We move out town and when we went to pick up the truck there were no trucks in the size we reserved for!!!! It has cost us a fortune for u hauls mistake that we did not have!! in extra hotel and finding a second truck to take the stuff would not fit in the size truck we got !!! When we called the main line there Not helpful and could only give a 50 doller credit! We will not deal with u haul again.Robert T.

I reserved a 26ft truck, called a week before our move, to be told it was given to someone else. I was offered a 20ft truck, which I had to take with great disappointment. Given we could have done our move in one load instead of two. We were told 100 free klm, which even in two trips it was under 100 klm and was still charged $45.00 for over klm!!. Two other couples in front of me were also dealing with the same problem. This Huntington U-Haul is pathetic in every aspect. Myself and the other couples will not be using your company ever again, unless you get Qualified people to run the business instead of concentrating on their convenience store!! Honestly an awful experience. We got there 5mins early (9am) and were told our uhaul wouldn't be available until 6pm due to it not being dropped off, which obviously wouldn't be OK. The lady there was super sweet and professional and made the whole ordeal a lot more better than if it was someone else. It took us an hour to finally get a truck which wasn't even supposed to be our truck but that's a whole other story. It seemed very much unorganized, but dropping it off we were met with a friendly guy who seemed understanding. At the end of the day at least we got a truck, but I definitely won't be going back. Also to add, I think the reason you guys have people dropping trucks off late or just not at all is because your late fee is so freaking low, after spending $160+ $40 means nothing.
