I dont like the idea, that the location changed from where i reserved the truck. And the front driver tire looked flat. I checked it and it had 42 lbs of air. If I didn't notice that I would have been side the road for sure. I was not happy it was not in drivable condition.

The guy charged my account 100 dollars more and didn't inform me of it. Said my extension on my rental would be at the same rate and it wasn't. Paid for a dolly that wasn't included

Scott EI reserved a dolly but when I got there it was not available. I also did not like that when I arrived I had to ask the convenience store clerk where was someone for me to talk to about the truck rental. I had to wait while she called someone . She then handed me the phone to speak with the manager or owner. When I asked her for the key I was told that she needed to wait until he called her back and confirmed my information. The truck ran fine and I received my receipt via email as soon as I returned the truck. The receipt was correct as I had taken pictures of the odometer prior to leaving and upon returning. Overall the process could be a little more professional, meaning the store clerk who I had to communicate with to receive the keys was not very professional or personable.

Bilal AFirst of all, I reserved a truck at a convenience store on Dutch Fork Road in Irmo. When we got there we were told that they didn't have any trucks. The person who rented the truck didn't bring it back. We were given an address on Nursery Road, just off Lake Murray Blvd. We drove over there and asked the clerk behind the counter of the convenience store to see the manager. About 20 minutes later a young man came out from the back. He never asked of he could help. I had to tell him we were there to pick up a truck. My reservation had been deleted and we had to start over with my information. We then asked for a hand truck and a furniture dolly. He ssid they didn't have either. He said that the trucks had been returned without them. We had to go to a Home Depot and rent them for an extra cost. After we had gotten to our apartment I checked my email and saw a copy of the reservation. The pick up time was noon on 4/5 and the drop off time was 3pm on 4/5. My original reservation was from 11am on 4/5 until 11am on 4/6. We finished with the truck and took it back around 8pm on 4/5. The employees I dealt with were totally unprofessional unwilling or unable to offer any customer service. They didn't care about us at all. Because of their horrible attitude I will never rent anything from U-Haul again.

DELLENE GFloor mats were full of dirt and sand. Candy wrappers were in the cup holder. Chewed gum was stuck to the floor of the inside of the truck. Loose screws were on the floor.

RAKESH GI felt the add misleading. It was 19.00 a day and 9 cents a mile. When I got the receipt it was 99 cents a mile. And then I was late getting back ( under 24 hrs) and they were going to charge me for 2 days. This was somewhat resolved ( l left more gas in the tank) but it was not at all what I was lead to believe my total would be.
Phyllis HI dropped off the trailer here, and I used the online check-in. I did not go into the store or interact with any of the staff. The drop off lot was easy to maneuver.
Richard FWorst U-Haul experience ever. I was originally booked with the U-Haul location down the street but was redirected to the convenience store. I walked in and the woman at the counter handed me a phone to talk with someone else. After 20 minutes of answering questions and taking pics of my drivers license, I was told I was all set and handed the phone back to the woman behind the counter. She said nothing. I asked which of the 3 trailers was mine to take. She brusquely responded "Well, I don't know what you reserved!" I just left and selected one on my own. There was no help on getting it hooked up or how to deal with the overly long safety chain. I did my best and got it home where I separately purchased links to shorten the chain. Turns out, someone left a dolly in there that I didn't need but I wasn't going back there. The U-Haul at the other end would need to deal with getting it back to them. Stay away from this location!
Art SI did not interact with this location, as the truck was no longer fit to drive after I arrived at my destination and thus had to be towed. I did speak on the phone with someone from this location regarding the situation with the truck, and they were helpful.

ANDREW THad to navigate large pot holes in the parking area. The Auto transport was not clean, and the ratchet straps were rusted and did not work properly. Had to use my own straps. Luckily I had them with me.

DESTINY ADO NOT go to this location they refused to check my rental in while I was present and they ended up apparently giving the truck to someone else and charging me for the mileage. I drove 30 monies and was charged for 117. They stole from my account
Lisa AI selected this location because I wanted an in-person rental. When got there, I was handed a phone and had to do an on-line pick-up. When I dropped it off, the only interaction was a person telling me I would get an email. So much for "in person".
CLAYTON HEverything worked out well. The truck was very clean and ran well, although the truck should come with more than 3/16 of a tank. The pickup location is a gas station! It also seems a little weird to get the keys from the dude making chicken in the gas station. All that having been said, the chicken-making guy was very friendly and everything worked out great. I'd rent here again.

Latina TThe employee that checked me in put the tow dolly on the truck for me, which was very helpful, but when I asked if he could help me with loading my car into the dolly he said no. Fair enough if he's not allowed to for liability reasons, but it would definitely have been nice to at least have another set of eyes on things while I loaded the vehicle onto the dolly, or at least given me a link to a how to video.

Douglas LBe a Little lenient. We brought out truck back an hour later than we picked it up and they charged me for a full day. I would expect that if we’re 3 hours late but even rental companies give you an hour. They also charged us 53.00 for 6 gallons of gas (a 30.00 fuel charge and 24.00 for the 6 gallons) when we brought it back at the same amount. I wish I had pics of the fuel when we picked up and dropped off. That’s my fault but I would give them 0 stars if I could.

Phillip CAir conditioning in the truck did NOT work and it was SC hot that day. Not a fun day. Truck squeaked and ran like garbage. This vehicle should be taken out of service. It smelled in the truck and not a great experience. I will be using Penske from now on. I dont care if the U-Haul is lower to the ground. Much better maintained vehicles.

Mark VThis obviously was a small convenience store.. not a lot of lighting. All the trucks were lined up in a dirt parking lot.. I had a 4 am drop off time...I dropped off the truck little around 6am and was charged 40.00 for the day even though this was dropped off before the start of the business day... U-haul should be more concerned about asking for reviews regarding the company and not about where I pick up or dropped off the truck .. I will not do business with U-haul again.. Penske is just as competitive and is more transparent on the pricing.

ESSIE WFriendly staff. All I needed was a tow dolly. They had it. This is not the place to go for a full service U-Haul experience,. However, if you just need equipment, quickly, they are great. Be sure to complete your transaction online before you show up.

I ended up waiting almost an hour and the only consolation was something free from their convenient store. After writing that I want to give it poor but from what I can tell they seemed genuinely apologetic and nice........

Chris BCheck engine light was on. Manager/owner of the store said they knew the issue and that repairs had been done but the light remained on. He said it was fine. Made me nervous to use the truck. Had I known, I would have purchased the roadside assistance just in case of an issue. Aside from the light, everything went well. App did make me take the pictures 3 times which was annoying. But got through it.
David BOur original reservation was at the 1827 SC-60 location and they were not able to help us at all. Their office was closed when we arrived, they did not have a trailer available, and did not realize that we were expecting a trailer from them. We had to call Reservations to get our reservation moved to the Nursery Road location.
