Storage 5x5x8 indoor, fit all the way to the ceiling. 1.5 years. Great location, large carts provided, BYOL, easy pull up with a vehicle, easy to reach from SF (this direction has the advantage of no toll) or East Bay. Never had any issues. BUT access is NOT 24h as UHaul states and UHaul’s access code is a dud. I’d recommend contacting the facility for current hours.

I took a three month lease, while I had a home remodel. The only thing that wasn't moved was the kitchen, so there was definitely no food. Unfortunately, most of my furniture and property was destroyed by rats and I had to pay for it to be dumped. I asked for a refund and was ghosted. The insurance that they make you buy isn't worth the paper it's written on. On the bright side, the staff were friendly and helpful and I should mention that my movers said they'd used this facility before and never seen anything like this, so perhaps it's a one off but I definitely don't recommend it.

I reserved a truck online which was supposed to be available for pickup in San Rafael location. My complaint is not toward Island Park Storage. My complaint is toward UHUAL company that made me believe I had a truck rental reserved at San Rafael location then told me last minute there were no trucks available and that I would need to pick up the truck in San Franscisco.please forward to corporate office from a displeased customer

there is no option where you can return to any office, no you have to return where you took it from and return it, this is bad and a large fee for returning to wrong addres. This is the second time I rent a uhaul truck and the gas level is not full, but low, but when I return it, they charge me for the fact that it is not full, how can this be?

My odometer did not match my paperwork. The inside of the cabs drink holders and storage area was dirty and disgusting. There was food and drink residue. The whole front of the truck was covered dirty and the windshield was so dirty I didn’t realize until we started to move that it had a chip in the windshield. I was disappointed to say the least.

My pickup location was changed 3 MINUTES before I arrived. The treasure island employee that I worked with was rude, unhelpful and threatened to unhook the trailer at one point when we asked if he had a trailer plug adapter. Couldn't be more unhappy with this experience.

The person checking me in told me that there was no gas left in the truck because someone had siphoned it. I was told that there were no options for uhaul to rectify this, and that I should bring my own gas, since it would not make it to the nearest gas station. This is unacceptable and uhaul distribution centers should have extra gas on site for situations like this. I ended up having to bring 5 gallons myself the following morning.

No access to anyone. Only able to return via app, but every time I had one time code sent, it resulted in error and lockout. Waited on phone 50 minutes to figure out safari and app wouldn’t work so had to go to use google. Even after that had to take numerous photos to check in. What is good for U-Haul stinks for us.

TL;DR: Even if you store your stuff on Treasure Island, rent your truck somewhere else. This is the second time I've made a reservation at this location only to find out later that the equipment isn't actually available the day of the reservation. This time around when I received the phone call the night before, I was told I'd have to use a cargo van rather than a 10' truck - same $19.95, lower $.99/mile. Fine. The following morning the agent can't find the modified reservation, complains that yet again, people on Treasure Island have siphoned gas out of his trucks, and writes me a new contract, telling me "Says on screen, make sure customer knows $100 fee for lost key." Um, OK, I won't lose the key. Later that "Best price guarantee" results in me being billed $99 for a whole day when I have used the truck for 2 hours and 18 minutes, driving it 19 miles. The agent I speak with offers to open a dispute.

I have rented for years from various U Haul locations but this is the first time I used this location because the San Rafael California location did not have the trailer I needed to rent. The men working at this location were professional and easy to work with. The overall office and yard were messy, disorganized and did not look like the normal U Haul's I have worked with in the past.

Staff was not flexible and very unfriendly. The place was dark, and very creepy. When I called to cancel my rental after I had emptied the unit, I was told, for the first time, that I needed to take a picture of the empty unit in order to cancel. I live 30 minutes away, so was not going to drive there to take a picture. Never heard of anything more ridiculous. Never using a storage facility again!

This was not the location I selected when I made the reservation. I went to the location on my reservation confirmation and told I had to go to the Treasure Island location to get the trailer. That cost me $180.00 for movers I hired that were waiting over an hour for me to arrive to load trailer.

The tires on the trailer I rented from this location were more than unacceptable. They were completely bald and both tires had a spot where the tread was showing. I didn’t see this at the lot when I picked it up because it was raining. I noticed it once I got to my destination. I have pictures and videos to prove it. The roadside assistance technician said I was lucky to make it to my destination. The total lack of consideration for my safety and the safety of others on the road while I was pulling this trailer is unbelievable. Shame on U-Haul.

I came back at 4:00pm to stop Uhaul back of and they left. I was two hours early before they closed. I didn't know where to put keys or if I got charged extra its not professional not to explain what to do or call my phone to let me know how to leave truck or where to drop keys off.

Was stored here from 2016 to 2023 and they did a great job keeping up with the 24 hour access even through COVID and holidays. Staff was always super helpful and friendly. Mike knows whats up! I never had any security or safety problems. The con is there are mice that will chew apart anything you have with a scent. So you can't store any bath products or vitamins. The mice chewed apart a mouth wash bottle I had in there and all my stuff smells like spearmint. The other option would be store all your stuff in locking plastic tubs or glass. The other con is there are no public restrooms within walking distance so don't come here when you gotta pee :).

Not only did I have to buy a ball hitch after purchasing one as part of the rental. The guys attached my trailer without attaching the lock pin that I purchased. I was charged $45 for the ball hitch and had to fight with uhaul to get reimbursed for the $35 part that I had already paid for and expected to be there waiting for me. I should be Reimburse the $45 that I had to pay at the location. Your customer service is atrocious. Then add to that that all of the tiedown bars on the walls have been ripped out the thing was not safe. This was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had with renting a trailer.

I previously called and specifically asked for a drop off location in Berkeley, CA. They set the drop off on Treasure Island in San Francisco. We went to two locations in Berkeley and they said I had to drop it off in San Fran or pay $200-300 extra. The trip in rush-hour was 90 minutes and there was a $17 toll, plus it put our mileage over the allocated trip total and we ended up paying more. Really poor customer service. Buyer beware!

RUDE STAFF AT THE BAY SHORE LOCATION, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE PERSON THEY DESCRIBED HERSELF AS THE MANAGER, I WENT THERE IN THE MORNING TO PICK UP THE AUTO TRANSFER TRAILER AND I WAS TILD THAT THERE WAS NONE AVAILABLE AT THE BAY SHORE LOCATION, I WAS TOLD BY AN EMPLOYEE THERE THAT THE TRAILER IS AVAILABLE AT TREASURE ISLAND LOCATION AND THAT THE TRAILER WILL COME WITH THE TOWING ACCESSORY, I DROVE TO THE OTHER LOCATION AND WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT THE TOW HEDGE IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE OTHER LOCATION WHATSOEVER AND THAT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE BACK TO THE CITY AND PURCHASE THE EQUIPMENT,IN TRAFFIC BACK AND FORTH AND I HAD TO GO, AT THE BAY SHIRE LOCATION I WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO THE MANAGER THAT I WASTED MY DAY BACK AND FORTH FROM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER AND THAT I SHOULD GET SOME CREDIT ON THE EQUIPMENT SINCE IM DRIVING A HEAVY TRUCK THAT BURNS A LOT OF GAS AND THAT I WAS MISLED BY THE LACK OF EXPERIENCE OF HER STAFF BUT I WAS SHOCKED BY HER WAY OF TALKING AND THE WAY SHE HANDLED THE SITUATION, I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER WITH UHAUL FOR YEARS AND I ONLY USE UHAUL FOR ALL MY MOVING NEEDS

I stored materials at the facility and it felt post-apocalyptic. I decided to move to the facility next door which is paved, well lit and has a more secure appearance. I also rented a 9’ box truck from the same facility. It was delivered to me with the gas gauge reading as empty as could beam, a tow light was on and the cup holders were filled with debris swimming in a mysterious liquid. It was disgusting.

The team at Island Park Storage/UHaul on Treasure Island rock! The price for my storage space was reasonable; the facility was clean & secure, the access hours pretty good. The staff (Nef, Mike, Tomas) are helpful, friendly & professional & most importantly, worked with me when my payment checks failed to materialize on time due to Post Office delivery issues. I highly recommend island Park Storage for your storage needs.

My unit was broken into and a bicycle, a big metal box and two suitcases were stolen, apparently months ago. However at that time, before even the move to the new location, nobody informed me and I had to find out myself when I came to beckon my belongings after a five year absence that the staff had just locked the unit zith a Master lock, but apparently did not think I needed to know about what happened there (qI was told some crack heads had apparently stolen items from several storage units at the time before they were discovered and kicked out. Also most of my clothing was damaged from the humidity hat had infiltrated from below, the hole wooden floor of the unit was still wet and I had to discard books and clothes, blankets and even leather clothes due to he damage by moisture and mildew.

I love the folks at Island Park Storage. The staff is top notch, and I was able to get help from the security to open the outdoor storage container when I had trouble with it. The storage container itself leaked a bit on my stuff and the boxes I had wrapped in plastic fared better than the ones I didn't. There was one of my items that developed a fungus mildew also. So if you want the best run and least expensive place, but can pack your stuff in plastic, this is a good place.There is no lighting inside the containers.

The cats in the office are kind, compassionate, and maybe a little bit over worked, but such is life in the Bay Area. #1 and 2 not fair to use in this case. The space was on dirt, and seemed like a junk yard. BUT, facility was convenient to SF, price below competition, and staff helpful. So we knew the condition when we chose to store our campervan. I have recommended the Park and advised of the conditions. This was a good solution for the shorterm.

10/10. They deliver exactly what they promise, and with a smile! The staff is wonderful, totally transparent and honest, the location is very secure, and I'm very glad I did business with them! I would rent there again in a heartbeat. Bravo and thanks! But there's a reason it's 40% less expensive than many other facilities. There are three downsides to this facility. First, that you can enter and leave 24/7 as most other facilities have. There is a very friendly security guard available 24/7 who comes and unlocks the facility for you, then you drive to your unit. This takes a few minutes of course. The guards are extremely nice! They move as fast as they can! But you should factor that in to your choice. Second, you're renting a shipping container. It takes 5 minutes to open, it's not roll in/roll out, and it's a scant 8 feet wide. garage-style units take seconds to open, are flush with the ground, and 2 feet wider. A car does fit in the container, but just barely! Third, it's on Treasure Island. Which is often difficult to get to, with stop and go traffic on US 80. On the plus side, if you're coming from the West, there is no toll to get there or to drive back. From the East Bay, you will pay the Bay Bridge toll every time you visit by car. I understand you can walk or bike from Oakland to the island at no coast, but I've never done it. So in sum, a terrific place with terrific people, but you get what you pay for.
