The price has skyrocketed this year as compared to last year. So expensive! Also, last year Uhaul had given me extra miles as a courtesy. This year, however, I was denied any extra miles. This gave us a bit of stress. A truck was unavailable at my 2 preferred locations. So we had to drive further to retrieve the truck than we had originally planned.Kalbert W.

Terribly inconvenient location on Treasure Island. The Uhaul stalled several times which made it impossible for me to put gas into it for fear of breaking down. The rental place closed earlier than was listed and then had the gall to charge me double for the rental because of the inconvenience they caused. Might be the last time I ever use Uhaul, if something is not remedied.Colton G.

#1 and 2 not fair to use in this case. The space was on dirt, and seemed like a junk yard. BUT, facility was convenient to SF, price below competition, and staff helpful. So we knew the condition when we chose to store our campervan. I have recommended the Park and advised of the conditions. Worst experience ever. Spoke to the person Neff and was offered additional time to return the trailer outside of normal business hours to avoid bay bridge rush hour traffic. After speaking with agent twice I was told after the fact that I would be billed additional day. I will never rent from this facility ever again.Tim C.

Tell people there's no gas stations on this island!! So we had to drive back to San Francisco to get more gas, which adds on to the mileage of the truck. Why were there no drop off locations in San Francisco?JEFFREY B.

The truck I got was dirty inside and out. It was obvious the truck hadn't been used in a while. The truck had a hard time changing gears, and well as had bad wheel handling. The trucks wheel alignment was off, and the truck and steering wheel would shake as well as it would veer to the left instead of going straight. The truck was is poor condition. 10/10. They deliver exactly what they promise, and with a smile! The staff is wonderful, totally transparent and honest, the location is very secure, and I'm very glad I did business with them! I would rent there again in a heartbeat. Bravo and thanks! But there's a reason it's 40% less expensive than many other facilities. There are three downsides to this facility. First, that you can enter and leave 24/7 as most other facilities have. There is a very friendly security guard available 24/7 who comes and unlocks the facility for you, then you drive to your unit. This takes a few minutes of course. The guards are extremely nice! They move as fast as they can! But you should factor that in to your choice. Second, you're renting a shipping container. It takes 5 minutes to open, it's not roll in/roll out, and it's a scant 8 feet wide. garage-style units take seconds to open, are flush with the ground, and 2 feet wider. A car does fit in the container, but just barely! Third, it's on Treasure Island. Which is often difficult to get to, with stop and go traffic on US 80. On the plus side, if you're coming from the West, there is no toll to get there or to drive back. From the East Bay, you will pay the Bay Bridge toll every time you visit by car. I understand you can walk or bike from Oakland to the island at no coast, but I've never done it. So in sum, a terrific place with terrific people, but you get what you pay for.Scott W. | Overall Experience

Terrible moving service that never showed up and left me hanging having to move everything on my own. I am still being charged for the movers that didn't show up. I also bought insurance just in case which I never do and the Uhaul got broken into and I had over $1500 of stuff stolen. Uhaul said it wasn't their problem. This was awful customer service experience and moving is stressful enough.RYAN P.

Using U-haul was an absolutely awful experience. Honestly I am not sure where to begin. Unfortunately U-haul has a virtual monopoly in this type of business so a thorough review about their beyond sub-standard operations and customer service won't even matter. they screwed up my reservation from the beginning not giving me the right truck that I had reserved 3 weeks prior. they put me in a truck with 150,000 miles and no gas. they sent me to a location that was far from where they originally told me. The customer service rep that called me the night before and told me that I was only going to get a 10-foot truck instead of 15 foot that I had reserved called me at 4 pm and a location that I was unfamiliar with. She was rude to me and when I asked what the point of making a reservation she asked me if I wanted the truck or not. Horrible customer service.THERESA D.

Fix the rollup door on the trailer, it is a pain to close and latch, and sometimes the latch catches at the top when the door is all the way open (up) and you have to mess with it and pry the latch free. One should not have to work that hard every time you want to open to close and latch the door. Most women could not operate that door!Adam W.

Their after hours system is absolutely horrible, I spent 10 pm to 12 pm trying to get a 26 footer truck that was parked in front of another truck and I could not go forward because it was a narrow parking so I had to very slowly back out to not hit the building or the other truck. It took me a while but I did it. Then I noticed the empty gas gauge and the low fuel tank indicator on dash. Customer service was horrible, no one knows what they're doing or saying and very frustrating. The only person who got things going was someone in Arizona and she was my last contact who knew what she was talking about and was able to help otherwise i was ready to call my attorney about this situation.ALEN H.
