Archie PTake a look at this location on google earth street view and that says a lot. The guy there harassed the heck out of me before my drop off time of 10am, that I was a few minutes early for as well. This is a dirty, grimey location as was the owner.
STACY DThe app didn't work. When I called Customer service, she did the best she could. We couldn't do the pick through the app because it wasn't working. We than tried online, and there were numerous glitches. I was on the phone for an hour & 43 minutes before I could pick up my truck. Whatever happened to the old days when you could just deal with someone in person.

G MI arrived and could not find the U-Haul on the property. I was able to look around and found a U-Haul truck parked around the corner on Vancouver Street. Nobody told me that the Truck would not be on the property and it was located on a side street. I was lucky that I looked around the area. I also just received my U-Haul bill and noticed a $20 charge for after hour rental. Where does it say that we have to pay for an after hour rental? They never charge us after hour rentals when we return the trucks to the Topaz location. Not impressed.

Harry DI had to park on the street as there wasn't space to drive into the location. When I walked in to return the keys, there was a recorded voice in the parking lot alerting me that I was trespassing! Very confusing. The man was helpful, and it took no time at all to return the vehicle.
MARIANNE EThe drop off at James Bay Service on North Park St. in Victoria was great and super easy. There was another gentleman picking up a U-Haul just in front of me there and he seemed very pleased. I would recommend this location for pick-ups & drop-offs! Great people there!
Ronald CI returned the vehicle with more fuel in it than the amount that I left with. I was charged for 7 liters of fuel. I have used Uhaul for decades. This might have been the last time.

Then app wouldn't work to end the rental so had to call customer services again. Incredibly frustrating, the whole process too and extra hour and half of standing by the van in waiting for thebapp
Kaitlin FFix your app! The scanner doesn't work. It took me 30 min to get the picture of my drivers license figured out. Actually Rick (Super forthcoming and helpful, great guy), helped me and did it through his phone. Fix your app. This has been a problem for a while now.
Paula HThe developing team needs to fix the app when picking up the truck and submitting the license photos. In my case, the app didn't recognize the back of my license, even when it was a clear shot of it. I tried many different angles and positions, but the app kept showing an error even when it recognized the bar code. I lost 30 valuable minutes dealing with the last step of the app. But then I tried the help chat which was asking me for more information that I didn't have. The person from the chat wasn't giving me any possible help options. This is the first time I have rented a U-Haul and I am not renting one again. It was a very stressing experience.
Marco NThe app and website are not user-friendly. Location doesn't work on Android phones, the pickup process is very confusing and time-consuming. Waiting time for customer service after business hours is ridiculously long.

There is a motion detector on site that says "you are trespassing" as soon as you step on property and it continues to say "you are trespassing" until you reach the office. Once I was at the office it was fine. I arrived during business hours when James Bay was open so I'm not sure why the trespassing message was playing across the yard while I walked on the property.

WILLIAM CNo instructions were provided by UHaul on where to park if returning after hours, and it's a small lot and I had a big truck. Would be a good idea to provide check out instructions for after hours returns.

Jesse TI had requested a dolly and a moving furniture blanket, neither were in the truck and the location was closed. The app for mobile pick up showed error messages at multiple steps of the pick up and drop off processes.

Georgia TStrange locking mechanism kept making noises during the trip. I was charged $150 damage fee when after reporting a minor bumper collision and there was no damage to the U-Haul (photos sent to dispute).
erik aI had a difficult time dropping it off online. Them felt nervous bc he had warned me about a 20$ service fee He could chose to make me pay. He pulled the van around but didn’t insisted or remind me of the photo check online. So I had to take photos after. Overall Since his place is closed on Saturday I couldn’t drop it off directly. I’d use another location next time

Kushal MFirst, nobody was around that place even though their hours of operation indicated to be open until 3 pm. I arrived to pick the truck up at 1:30 pm and my starting time got updated to 2:30 pm because it took that long to figure out with someone over the phone. Second, it was unclear where to return it, and I understood that it was at the same location which I did. I notified via chat that I had dropped the truck back, and they gave me a link I followed but there was nothing else to do from there, so called in with no answer. So I called in the next morning, to make sure it was marked as return on time. This is the third, the service person Markeisha, was insisting it could be ok that I dropped it off on time but they were going to need someone to pick it up because I didn't return it to the drop-off location, I explained that was the drop-off location and if I needed to voice something to talk to James Bay Autor service on Monday (Family Day - Canadian Stat) because it said they'd be open that day. I said they wouldn't, I live next door. She explained that I was going to be charged $20 for picking up the truck from there. Terrible experience.

Drew SI wasn’t initially made aware of the drop off time for my rental. The person who called me to let me know I was late, proceeded to guilt trip me over the situation. Not very professional.
Blayke AI rented the vehicle for 3 hours (11:30am to 2:30pm) because I was moving to a new apartment. It was not a big moving, but my old building manager was delayed to the final inspection. For this reason, I had to keep the vehicle with me for a couple more hours. I was aware that I had to pay a "charge" or something like that. That's ok for me. The problem is: someone from Uhaul called me at 2:45pm and said I should return the vehicle immediately. Movings are stressful and the delay was not my fault. I paid the value of the additional hours that I was in possession of the vehicle, but the attitude of the attendant telling me to simply stop moving and return the vehicle was not one of the most correct in my opinion.
Matheus VEquipment was missing. Interior of truck was dirty - leaves and dirt, required a good sweeping before loading.

Sam DLocation wasn't open, not clearly marked, I was overcharged for an extra day and responded to uhaul and no one has responded. Very poor service for picking up and dropping off the truck. The actual truck was in good condition. Please call me back so I can get a refund.

Alex CDrop off location was closed for the weekend at time of drop off. There was no parking on site which required truck to be parked on the street. No clear sign specific for UHaul key drop off, only a general key drop.
