The pick up was awful. They did not have the truck ready when it was supposed to be and apparently U-Haul never notified the location we wanted to use the 24/7 option, despite having made the reservation a week ago. I was told I would get money off, but have not seen the refund. I will be calling tomorrow about this. The truck also had a bunch of random garbage in the cab when we got it.Robert D.
A terrible customer service I had a very bad experience I would not recommend it at least at this address where I went to pick up the vehicle, there is no staff that receives customers nor does they even have an office to receive customers everything is done in a garage of a car wash .... apart from the fact that they made me wait almost an hour after my reservation .... they take the work and the time of the clients to relax ... The service was over price I end up paying 207 dollar for a 19.99 cargo van they charge me for gas when I deliver the truck with more gas that I got the truck in the fist time and very poor customer service no good never use you againangel C.

Pickup location was in a very dangerous area, had to sit in the car for half hour waiting for customer service to pick up the phone while crackheads came up to us begging for money. Then the key was not in the lockbox where it should have been. Customer service had me get out and go look for some dude on the street who had the key. Felt very unsafe and a terrible experience.Jeff W.

This location did not feel safe and the Dropbox for the keys for equipment was damaged and the lock was drilled out. Was not able to leave keys with contract in the lockbox due to being broken. Review safety precautions at contract locations and review equipment key drop boxes. I was never able to speak with anyone for this location after many attempts not able to leave voicemail their mailbox was full after several days and multiple attempts.TANYA W.

There is no office, just a closed/locked laundromat. Had to all the phone number multiple times, the voicemail was full, finally someone drove up to hand me the keys. Had to remove fast food garbage from the cab of the van. Then, even though I received the van with less than 1/8 of a tank of gas, I was charged to refill to half a tank. Everyone I spoke with in customer service was very friendly. Although after calling what google listed as the corporate customer service line, I waited on hold for 20 minutes and then was told I'd have to speak to customer service and given another number to call. Very frustrating rental, but after speaking with the correct person, the charges were corrected.Leigh D.

The location was not well marked, and I pulled into the wrong parking lot (even though it was the lot with the u-haul key drop box and all of the u-haul signs on it). After searching for anybody who could tell me where to return the vehicle, and waiting several minutes, I was told I had to back the vehicle, with a tow dolly on it, out of the small parking lot and into a crowded street. There needs to be much more clarity about where vehicles are supposed to be returned.David K.
I Don't like that if you leave the van with more than a quarter of a tank, that you don't get refunded for gas. The next person that uses it will have to spend no money on gas and it isn't fair. I got charged for extra miles but there's extra Gas, not understanding that.Antwan R.

Absolutely the worst moving experience ever.. First, went to pick up the 15foot truck rental and tow package at my scheduled pick up time of 10am at the US 46 Saddle Brook location...was told they do not have the equipment and that I must go to the Paterson location on Montgomery street to pick up my rentals. When there the location only had the Truck rental available and no tow package, despite me being told it would all be there. After calling U-Haul, I was advised that the tow package would be available at 5:00pm back at the Saddle Brook, NJ location I was just at! I packed up my truck and went to the Saddle Brook location to pick up my auto tow package at 5pm, however again was told it was not available at this location and was redirected to East Orange, NJ to pick it up. The employee from Saddle Brook called the East Orange location to confirm it was there, they acknowledged and confirmed I could pick it up. I drove directly from the Saddle Brook to the East Orange location and when I arrived, the employees at East Orange said they were closed and locked the door. I explained the situation to them however no one cared and they shut the door in my face and locked it...as a result my move was delayed an additional day! I called customer service with U-Haul and spoke with Shantal from the NJ regional office, she sympathized with the situation and even said I should get a full refund and if not call my credit card company to dispute all charges from U-Haul. Nevertheless I still needed the auto tow package which was guaranteed (again) for pickup the following morning at 7am. When I arrived to the same East Orange location that shut the door in my face, the auto transport was not ready and the employees needed to move some trucks around. Finally we were able to load my car onto the transport, however once this was done we realized the left front strap to hold the car in was broken and would not work. As there were no trailers left, the next resort was to change the strap. I was informed that the person that was able to do that was called and would be on their way shortly. Given the entire hassle of the whole process, I grabbed my tools, and exchanged the strap myself! Finally after that I was able to actually start my moving trip!! All in all a complete and utter disaster of an experience. After the move, I tried calling customer service at Uhaul and they re-directed me around to several different numbers. Finally when I spoke to an actual human being, she said she was not authorized to deal with my complaint and said that her manager would call me back. Surprise, surprise...the manager never called me back and I resorted to calling chase card services to dispute the charges. I will never ever rent U-Haul again and will advise anyone I know to never rent with them either. I will spread the word far and wide that this company is completely incompetent. The drop off location was terrible. The parking lot is very small to park a 20'truck. There was no clear sign for the drop-off to where I should park the truck.Milena M.
We returned the truck last Sunday and it was not checked in until this Sunday causing an overage of charges. We were unable to check in using the website so we called the number on the lock box. They told us to leave the truck and key at the site and that the truck would be checked in in the morning. A week later we are notified of the check in and the charge being a week late! Additionally, there were extra miles on the truck that we did not put on it. We feel utterly scammed and do not recommend using uhaul to anyone in the future. If they do not rectify, then they have willfully cheated their clients.GRACE L.
I was overcharged for both mileage and gas. I took out a tank of gas with less than half the gas and was charged an extra $58.50 (???) for gas. Same with mileage: I took out the van with an odometer reading of 2,622 and was charged as if the reading was 2,510, an extra 112 miles. At .49/mile, I was overcharged $54.88. The total overcharge is $113.38 + taxes. I expect a refund to be issued to my credit card or I will dispute the transaction with my credit card issuer.Yuri L.

The customer service from the dealer at Jay Robinson Inc. was Outstanding. The problem I have had was the dolly was too high for the car to get up on it. So it was not used, therefore being a waste of my money. It would be nice to be reimbursed for at least half of what I paid.Obadiah C.
