I reached out via email three days ago asking about some charges to my bill that I did not approve of and/or was not told about during the initial pickup. The person who initially helped us was a bit rude to us. He was asking us questions and we didn't fully understand what he was asking for and got annoyed when we kept nicely trying to ask him what he meant and come to a resolution. Also the fuel was nearly depleted when we got the vehicle and the reported fuel remaining on the contract was not at all what was actually in the tank. I'd rent U-Haul again, but certainly not from this location.

It was hot, with no A/C, and in a very difficult to find location. The people were nice though. Slow, as there was a customer before us, who had trouble, and so had to wait outside in the heat for quite a while.

Everything went very smoothly. This is the second time I have rented from this location. The inside of the van could have been mopped out before the rental as an extra touch, but it was otherwise in good order and acceptably clean.

Customer service ... people were pretty matter of fact and not necessarily willing to help me resolve the confusion when Uhaul sent me there in the first place. Phones were also busy when calling during business hours, no matter how quickly and frequently calls were made. In the end, when I returned the equipment, the gentleman returning it was polite and helpful.

The person working was very petty and very unreasonable. The truck I used barley used any gas but just because the gas gas gauge moved slightly he charged me for gas when it was still a half of tank when I got it. I was told by other people after the fact that is the worst location to ever go to. Do not go in vine street ever .

The experience was good. One potential problem: I had to get the keys from the office despite the fact that I was enrolled to the Truck Share 24/7. I was lucky because it was the last few minutes before their closure. I'm not sure how this location would let me pick up the key, had I arrived outside their normal business hours. I would call and validate in case you need the truck outside the business hours. There's a dropbox for returning the key so I guess returning should not be a problem.

I already filed a complaint about this, on the phone I was supposed to pay $130, in the office this older guy made me pay $30 more dollars selling me stuff I didn't ask (truck insurance) he said it was the system there was nothing to do about it, I was running out of time my client was waiting for me i Couldn't stay longer to discuss the issue, then today the sent me a new bill $60 dollars more because they say I didn't return the truck on time which I did I got a lot of proof gas receipt and I took pictures, when I get there to the parking spot no one was there I just left the truck next To Others uhaul trucks. So now I cannot trust estimates by phone they sell one thing by phone and they charge more in the office. Worst experience ever. I run my own moving business but I think I have to change of truck rental beside of this.

U-Haul allowed me to reserve a truck for 09:00 on Jan 2, 2021. This location did not open until 10:00 on Saturday's, which is an hour later than my requested time. The location then gave me a difficult time about returning my truck late, but I explained to them that I requested a 6 hour timeframe and they were late, therefore my timeframe should be extended . Would not recommend coming to this location.

They didn't check correctly the equipment. I rented a trailer and I noticed that the tire was in bad condition. (SAFETY FIRST) I'm not recommended this place.

This is more reflection on my overall UHaul experience than the location itself as the man working there was as helpful as he could be with the resources available. UHaul switched locations when confirming the UHaul rental which I did not see since I looked that the confirmation of the rental van itself and was busy packing to prepare for my move. When I get the original location on my reservation (which I printed when confirming) it was the wrong location and I had to drive another 20 minutes to get to this location. There, a 3 person line added about a 30 minute wait to get my van, despite checking in online (I thought I was simply picking the keys). At this point, tired and having to pee (I'm 6 months pregnant), the man let me use the employee bathroom in the back. We were supposed to wait outside due to COVID, but it was so cold, that I waited crammed in the small office and exposed to people who came in without reservations, asking for what rentals were available. Finally, I get to check out the van and they want additional information, emergency contact (but somehow didn't accept my husband's valid phone number) and did not have the two dollies that I reserved. Why this was never stated when they confirmed my reservation, I still do not understand. So now, I have less equipment than I need for my move and I am an hour behind schedule due to the location change. This pretty much set the mood for my overall move, which was the worst move of my life (but that is another story of the horrible movers I booked, also through UHaul). I will not be using UHaul again. Horrible service, lack of supplies, and absolutely no response to my initial complaint on the service. I know it is a pandemic, but please do not make people go through extra stress during a move. This should be the easiest part of your move!

"With U-Haul Truck Share 24/7®, you're able to pick up your truck at any time." Well that wasn't the case at all. Got to the location at 8:15 AM but the app kept said I had to wait until the office opened. I called customer support; it took about 20 mins to get through. She was friendly and helpful but in the end she said the truck had not been prepped and I had to wait for the office to open at 9:30. When you're having a long moving day, you want to get started early, right? The 24/7 remote option does not work as advertised. Then, once someone came at 9:30, the first truck assigned to me had a flat tire. They switched me to another truck. The cabin was filthy. I thought Uhaul would be ensuring that the cabin is sanitized after each use. In addition, the drivers side window had been left partially open overnight and it had rained so there was water on the seat. Overall a disappointing experience with Uhaul.

The operator gave us a bad truck that resulted in a flat tire in the middle of the move and then blamed us for not knowing there was an issue. The flat tire happened during a torrential downpour. I had to uber to a car parts store to get it fixed because we were paying movers hourly. I am going to dispute this rental unless someone calls me to straighten out. The operator was rude.

Got the job done with the truck I reserved, but several of my reservation requests were unfulfilled (such as no dolly availability and no one-way trips), and I had to pay again after pre-paying online because my first payment was not registering in their system. I imagine some of this is out of the individual location's control, but it was frustrating to have been promised one thing and given another. Moreover, I now have to chase down a refund for my first payment. If I could do this over, I would not pre-pay online, and I would make a reservation at a location that guarantees your pick up will be at that location you selected.

When I got to the the location Where I was supposed to pick up the trailer , the woman over there told me that it was not available. Nobody called me in advance to change the store and therefore U-Haul made me lose money of my pocket since I had a moving in progress. I was paying for help, and in addition I lost my time. After the picking up time I got a new message changing my picking up location from Capitol Heights to Alexandria. From 2 pm, which was the original time to 3.30 pm. Unbelievable. How irresponsible was that. Playing with your customer's time and money. Terrible experience.

I booked pick up for outside of business hours. When I arrived and started the pickup process, I was informed that I could only get the van when the location opened. If a location cannot do 24h pickup, one should not be able to book a rental staring outside of business hours.

Terrible, horrible service the person on the front desk was very slow and I did put a reservation for a 24” truck I supposed to pick up from Richmond Hwy and they don't have it there.after they sent me to this location and I guess WHAT?? They don't have it either so I have to keep the trucks an extra day!!! I will fill out a complaint about this very bad business to the BBB

The service at this location is pretty good, I like the prompt turn around. These guys are on target. No complaints. The location is a little dark at night, but we got to see some cool wildlife, a deer, a red fox and more. This will be my go to place the next time I need something.

Pick up took 40 minutes and was supposed to be remote but had to go inside for the key. Totally unacceptable. Got an error message that there was a problem reconciling the account when returned truck at 2:45, more than an hour early. THEN got a call at 3:40 asking when we were going to return the truck! It was due at 4 and I already had the email receipt!

The man owner was late getting there Saturday morning. After renting the trailer I returned it that day at 4:30 pm but was charged a late fee on my final invoice. The final invoice said I returned the trailer yesterday at 11:47 am yesterday which was not true. I have a picture of the trailer in the parking spot at 4:29pm on Saturday the 5th. I was very unhappy with my visit. And I called the location Yesterday to try and find out what happened and the same guy who checked me out and who I spoke to on Saturday afternoon letting him know that I returned the trailer, told me that he couldn't help me and that I would have to call back tommorow because he was closed. Total bullshit.

Agent did not offer to examine the vehicle with me to document its condition. Instead, he brushed me off with a non-question, "It's OK, right?" Odoomter reading was 8 miles higher than stated on agreement.

Clean the truck and provide the items that he / she rented in a clean / dry state. 1. The cab of my truck was filthy. I seriously doubt it had ever been cleaned during the truck's 6,000 miles of life. Food, dust, grime, earrings, boots behind the seat. This is unacceptable in a Covid world and in a Covid-free world. I cleaned it myself. 2. I rented 12 blankets. I only got 6. And some of them were wet. 3. The lock I purchased at the location was too small to use with the latch entirely closed. In summary, clean the cabs of the trucks, supply what the customer rents beforehand (ideally, dry) and sell the consumer products that work for the obviously intended purpose. Credit where credit is due: the gentleman who served me was very kind and sought to give me a truck with low mileage because he knew I was going on a long trip.

The truck had trash from the previous mover inside. There was some sort of scented oil that had been spilled near the edge of the cargo bay. The building where the truck is located looks to be filled with hazmat paint. The dude operating the business could t get the computer to print the paperwork. Overall it was a horrible experience and uhaul should be ashamed that they allow JT Enterprises to be associated with a great American company. I'm extremely disappointed.

The service in 5409 Vine St no a, Alexandria, VA 22310 was excellent from the moment I rented my cargo van that was clean, working properly, and with a full tank of gas. The service was kind, easy and without complications. When we turned in the van, they only charged me what was due. Therefore, I 100% recommend renting a U-Haul from this location.

I was told by corporate over the phone when I called that the truck would come with a lock. This was not provided when I picked it up. Also, I was not instructed by the office manager to complete the vehicle evaluation using the link provided via text message when I picked it up. I didn't see this link until I got home and then was told it was too late.

Present clean equipment & not advertise for moving helpers that fail to respond to calls for service, but charge the customer's account. It defeats the purpose to tell the customer not to give the payment code until the completion of the job. Then U-Haul released the payment without any service at all being received.

I was charged for two dollies that were returned with the truck when I dropped it off after hours. Convenient the store claims that they are missing after I didn't sign the insurance waiver. The guy said he would call me back no call back but I got charged. Makes me wonder if I had if they would make the same claim. I will never rent from them again.

I made my reservation for August 29th on August 24th (5 days in advance). I arrived at 10am (my scheduled time) and did the mobile check in since that was recommended to save time. After checking in (locating my rental, uploading pictures of my license, etc.) I approach the entrance to pick up the keys and see at least a dozen people already standing there. I asked an employee if I had to stand in line although I checked in online and showed him the “pick up key” image that was on the app to which he said “yes. You have to stand in line.” I waited in line for OVER AN HOUR. Once I arrived inside to pick up the key, the employee told me that THEY GAVE MY RENTAL AWAY and there were no more available for today. After fussing with him for 45 minutes, he was able to find a truck for me. How is it possible that my CONFIRMED truck was given away? I had several confirmations in my email stating that the reservation was good to go. I even had a receipt Sent to me while I was standing in line showing the estimated charges for the confirmed vehicle. If I had the reservation, confirmation, and receipt, why was my truck given away? The man working the counter was blatantly clueless and told me to contact the corporate office for answers since he had none. I eventually received a rental, after bickering with him long enough. There was no apology issued and finally had my rental by 11:30am, an entire hour and a half after my reserved time. Planning to move is difficult enough as it is and this definitely just added to the stress of it all. I have dealt with U-Haul before, but have never experienced such degrading service.
