The truck had very low mileage, handled really well, and was way more comfortable than I thought it would be. The location staff who assisted was kind enough to ensure I got his newest truck. However, the location was not fully prepared for my arrival. They did not have all the furniture pads or the furniture dolly that I ordered. When I called to confirm pick-up of truck and dolly they day before, they did not inform me that I should plan to pick-up truck, load, then return for the dolly. Nor did the regional scheduler who set up the reservation. In addition, I did the express check-out beforehand only to have to work with the location staff to complete their form. Finally, I pre-paid, and when we finally got through all the screens, I was charged an additional $187+. And the staff member attempted to use the credit card on file and enter it manually 4 times before finally on the 5th time, it went through. This all added extra stress and additional time both at the location and when I came back on the day of my move--what a terrible thing to do to people when they're already stressed.

The location is in the very end the very back of an industrial area used for body shops and tow trucks. Not inviting and can’t be seen until you are right there. Maybe better signage.

Not easily accessible to public transportation and not easy to locate. Nevertheless, in the pouring rain the agent drove me to the Metro in his car. Because of him, and him only, I will continue to use U-Haul in the future.

A disaster from the very beginning--and continued to get worse! First, U-Haul change the pick up location on me (and the time for pick-up). It was necessary to call Customer Service 6 times and my daughter called twice). 2 of the 6 hung up on me and not a single representative offered anything resembling customer service! It was "No", "No" and more "No". The pick up site was more like a hazardous waste dump than a U-Haul pick up store.

Tell me that if it is not brought back with the exact same amount of gas there will be a 40$ fee for less than a quarter tank of gas.The shop did not open on time. I reserved for 8:30 self-pickup. only the day before was I told this shop does not offer that, so I had to change all my place. I went over on mileage, instead of actually even telling me what the charge was the guys just got pissed and told me I had to pay. Awful experience as a whole.

There's not much that can be done to improve this situation. Vine Street can only be accessed while heading down the hill along Van Dorn Street and making a right turn on to Vine Street. Vine street is a poorly maintained county road with no signage along the way where the U-Haul office is located which is about a mile at the end of the street when it turns to gravel. Also, there is no signage on that road to direct someone up a driveway to an upper-level office. Once there, the equipment yard is tidy and the office is neat.

The fact that the truck is not guaranteed at the location selected is well hidden in the contract, and Uhaul would do well to be more transparent about that. I was called the night before I needed to pick up the truck and told that the truck was not at the location I had selected, and was instead going to be at a location close to an hour away, at a location that opened 2 hours later than my selected pick up location. On the morning of the pick up, I called to check on the status of the truck, and I was told that the truck at this alternate location would not be available until sometime in the afternoon, which would have made my move impossible. Through the regional dispatch office, a truck was located at a different (third) location, which was available in the morning, however this was a larger truck. I would consider these deviations from the original arrangement to be substantial non-performance of our original contract, and I would like to have the ability to pay a reduced amount for the substantial non-performance. This was not possible, because the contract accounts for these eventualities, and Uhaul's business model is in fact set up to arrange for pick up locations with no real intent to honor the selected pick up location, or even pick up time.

There was broken glass in the parking lot from another business. We were also charged an extra day for use despite the representation from the business owner that we would not be charged for a day when they were not open and therefore unavailable for return. We would not recommend this location based on this experience.

I felt fairly unsafe at this location...I arrived around 9:30pm to drop off the rental and it was down a sketchy street tucked into the back of a building with open rooms with random pieces of furniture and miscellaneous items. There were two men who seemed suspicious lurking around the area and couples kissing off in the darkness. Luckily I had my dad there or else I may not have dropped off the uhaul. I never really leave reviews, but I felt like I had to say I would never recommend this uhaul location.

the gas tank was 6/8 full, when the contract indicated it was 7/8. Not a big deal, and I even returned it with more gas.

Store open at 10. There was long line with one person checking people in. 15 minutes later another showed up to help. There was no where to sit and very little room to stand. It was very hot in there because the sun was beaming through the window where we were standing. It took too long to process people in. The truck was clean on the inside but dirty outside.
