You should not have a online reservation and quick checkout if you are going to cancel my order when I get then and charge me again. Also, someone should inspect the truck with you before you leave. I asked several times if the gas in the truck should be filled up when I return the truck, I was told one each time no. I was then contacted at 8am the next morning and told I need to put gas in truck before 10am so I drove an hour out to put $9 of gas in the truck. This was a terrible experience and I will never use uhaul again.

My reservation was not processed timely as the piece of equipment was not even in their inventory to be released to me when I was picking it up further when I receive the truck nor employee even looked at it with me or when over it with me or there was no customer service at all I was just left on my own additionally there were to be blankets left their part of my order however there were none and then they sent me to another location where they say I couldn’t obtain the blankets however there were none and then the third time I went to someplace they had no blankets either my U-Haul experience has been a disaster I won’t rent from U-Haul again

Reservation was for 10:30am but waited in line for over 40 minutes. Not a lot of space inside, people have to wait out in the sun. System was down, staff had to make photo copies of my credit card and do everything by hand.

1) I scheduled a pick-up online and received a confirmation email stating the pick-up location was 4711A Eisenhower Ave Alexandria, VA 22304 Shortly afterwards, I got a text message correcting it to 5409 Vine St No A Alexandria, VA 22310... Which one is it?!?! 2) I arrived at the scheduled pick-up time (10:00AM), and had to wait 50 minutes in line. 3) The computer system went down when I finally made it to the counter, and I had to wait longer. 4) I left one hour late. 5) After driving 29 miles (mostly on the highway), I added 3.6 gallons of fuel to the tank, and returned the vehicle. I was then charged $6 for not returning it at the same level. Let's do the math: average mileage for a10' truck is 11/12 mi/gal x 29 miles = less than 3 gal). The truth is I visually checked the level, and actually returned the vehicle with slightly more gas than I got it with... Last time at this location.

The shop was closed but the person there working late on the rental vans was very rude and unfriendly! Also, The gas tank was filled to 7/8th when I picked it up but I was charged 8.50 for not filling it full when I returned it. That’s not fair and goes against what I was told by the clerk at pickup.

People behind the counter were rude. Two of the people in front of me in line had trouble with their orders which held up the line. Truck was given to me with less gas than required to complete my trip. Could not move truck seat back. Space itself is incredibly cramped and not well maintained. Very poor experience, will never rent from this location again.

I ordered a 17' van and was not given that van as they do not keep those on site. I don't know why I'm able to reserve one if they don't have any. I was given a very small discount, but ended up having to use an additional vehicle to move. Extremely disappointed.

Online booking system let me book at Falls Church location, then I immediately received a call saying they didn't have that trailer there, but they did at this location. The online system should not let me book something that isn't available. Also, the vine street location didn't stock trailer ball for purchase and I had to go to Home Depot to buy one.

We had an appointment for, I believe, six pm, to pick up a trailer. When we got there a couple of minutes before six, there were two people ahead of us in line, with only one man at the counter, helping the first person. Within five minutes of our arrival, three other customers arrived and got in line behind us. I can only assume that all of them had six pm appointments, as the store was about to close. We waited for over twenty minutes while the U-Haul desk worker assisted the two people ahead of us in line, and soon after he began assisting the second person in line, another worker finally came out of the back room and started helping us. I had checked in and entered all my information online previously, but the U-Haul worker nonetheless had to re-enter all my information in their system, so I'm really not sure what the purpose of the online check-in was. Once we finally got to the trailer, it had been backed up into a pile of rocks, so it took about ten or fifteen minutes just to get it in place such that it could be hitched to our van. As we were finally driving away, I realized we hadn't been given the furniture pads I ordered. We drove back, but the store had already closed. I located an employee who was leaving for the day, but he said he couldn't or wouldn't help me. Thank goodness his manager showed up on his way to his car and told the employee to give us our furniture pads. Additionally, we had a hitch installed on our van by U-Haul a few days prior. I set up an appointment for 1:30 pm at the Lorton U-Haul. When I arrived, there was no open bay for hitch installation and there was no hitch. What on earth is even the point of making an appointment? The worker instead installed a hitch designed for a different make of vehicle and jammed it in so it would fit. I couldn't remove the trailer ball afterward, however, because it was the wrong type of hitch for my vehicle. Further, when I signed up for the trailer rental, the website informed me that there were no trailers of my desired size available that day at the Lorton location (which would have been much more convenient, as I could have had the hitch installed and picked up the trailer in one shot). However, when I got there that afternoon, when I had wanted to pick up the trailer, there were at least a dozen trailers in my desired size available. Incredibly poor website and customer service. On the plus side, drop-off in the Bronx was quick and easy. This is why competition in business is important. Please, Penske or some other company, please start doing inter-city trailer rentals so I never have to deal with U-Haul again.

The service to get to the place from U-Haul was horrible the customer service, the fact that online isn’t accurate and u have to make a a call to make an appointment to even get after requesting it online for a certain time. Wasted an hour of my time riding to 3 locations trying to get one
