Lakeland Automotive was SPECTACULAR fixing a potential screw up by UHAUL!!!!! Thinking I had a reservation there, however it was moved 24hrs prior and the pickup location was 50km's away!!!! YIKES No thanks UHAUL. I would imagine the the extra 100km's would have been on my dime too! Maybe have a "preference" box to tick as to would you prefer the vehicle model or pickup location more? It's like showing up at the airport and having them say, sorry we are out of SUV"s so your rental car is located downtown....thats just dumb! Lakeland Automotive gets 5/5, U-Haul gets 1/5.

Nobody even showed us how to hook up the trailer and when I asked I was told they were too busy so I hooked it up on my own and had to drive away not knowing whether or not it was hooked up properly. We were charged a $15 cleaning fee even though we left it as clean as we found it (which was not very clean) and we were never told about a cleaning fee when we rented it.

after rental almost completed and credit card payment submitted complete transaction disappeared from computer and had to be re-processed. Appears to be a glitch in U Haul software not local dealer.

The only reason I gave a poor rating is because the truck is not in a secure location. When I picked up the truck I did not check the fule when leaving, thinking it was full like most rentals only to check a couple kilometres later to see that it was empty. I had to fill it up before starting my move. I returned it Saturday late with a full tank, not having driven much (72km). On Monday I was informed that someone had siphoned the tank again and less than a 1/4 tank was left.

Adhere to your own policies, which indicate that: 'a U Haul rep can assist if you require assistance'; 'all towing is subject to inspection'; and 'portable tow dolly lights should be installed on the vehicle in tow'. Provide at least a few minutes - especially if you're going against your own policies and also upon request by the customer - to go over the equipment to ensure proper and safe operation. This would reduce/prevent the chances of damage and/or a dangerous situation from occurring, as happened when our car was damaged by the tow dolly we rented. Improving resources to make proper operation more clear would also be helpful, as would better communication by staff. I will never rent from U Haul again and will spread the word of caution at any opportunity I have.

Information given on the phone regarding deposit was incorrect was told it was 125.00 deposit when in fact only is 100.00. Was not informed about needing a contact to verify who I was so at 10am on pick up day we were told this tried a couple of numbers and got a hold of someone the girl was not very professional in her phone mannerisms and was pretty much expectant for my contact to figure things out for themselves as to why she needed a contact did not even at first say her name or where she was calling from. Service was slow as molasses. No walk about was done when we got the keys to the truck either. Just so very very unprofessional. When calling back after making reservation to inquire about a bigger truck the person on the phone was less than educated about their products and services.

Staff member was rude and told us that the truck we had dropped off was "very dirty". When asked what was dirty was just told there was dog hair and dirt. Employee showed me the truck and it looked exactly as it did when we picked it up - not pristine but not dirty either, just normal dirt/dust from the truck being used (dirt on floor mats, small amount of dust on dash, smelled of cigarettes as noted above, etc.). Was charged FORTY DOLLARS "cleaning fee" for this small amount of dirt. Employee offered for me to clean it myself if I had a problem with the charge. Very rude. With this experience and the experience at pick-up I will NOT be using UHaul again.

This Uhaul experience was good. However, we are still awaiting follow up from a very poor Uhaul experience dated September 2017. We’ve issued complaints utilizing all available channels and made numerous attempts to reach the appropriate person/dept regarding this matter and have to date received no return communication

Very friendly and helpful ladies at the counter and no hidden charges. The back of the truck was dirty. We (men) started moving before I had a chance to sweep it and clean it so my mattresses got quite dirty. It appeared clean but wasn’t.

No walk-around pre-trip inspection was performed. Customer required to sweep and then mop truck box (it was raining heavily) on return and carry in blankets, carts that had been in the vehicle to begin with. In contrast to basic components of normal reputable vehicle rental operations. Check in service was slow, check out service was otherwise fine and staff did provide broom and a mop.

We went in on the off chance they might have a truck and we got lucky.. thanks to someone else moving their dates around.. It was well worth the extra expense to get out of an apartment with stairs. Customer service was awesome help to us and we thank her very much.

Once I got there and spoke with someone it was a smooth process but trying to get any information over the phone about how to make a weekend rental work was impossible. Also the fuel guages are not digital and fairly open to interpretation so make sure to take your own pictures of where levels are at in case there are any questions at the end.

We were very surprised to be asked for a phone number of someone that would confirm our identity. It seems like an unnecessary and awkward step to take. We weren't informed about it in advance. Our credit card should have sufficed to verify our identity. However, the Lakeland Automotive representative was excellent and very helpful. We really appreciated her.

The move went very well. The truck handled the snow shed on the coke ok. Surged during the steep part but other then that it was efficient. Decent fuel economy considering the size of the truck and load.

There’s no room on your survey for this comment so will add it here, but it’s not the fault of this location. I rec’d a call from your main office asking if I was still picking the unit up. I told them I was and at the same time mentioned that I would need extra kms for the trip as the 1600 wouldn’t be enough. The lady told new, “No Probkem, I can give you an extra 500 in the same price”. I was happy with that. I got to the drop off location and was promptly charged over $100 for excess mileage and was told that there were no notes on the file. I find this totally unacceptable, plus I have yet to hear from U-Haul Head Office about the complaint that I lodged.

I was told that I would be charged 25 dollars if I didn't clean out the back of the truck yet when I got it the truck was full on broken glass. I reserved my equipment ahead of time yet they didn't have the equipment I reserved with my truck. Over all this was a shitty experience and I would never use uhaul again or re commended them. Very unprofessional. My reservation for 9am was also changed to 945 putting my move behind by almost an hour.

Check to make sure the truck is swept out properly. There's supposed to be a$25 charge for those who don't do it. I had to sweep it out before I could use it. Thank you, James
