Truck was dirty, had a headlight out, and I am now being charged an after hours service charge due to the fact that I rented the vehicle over a holiday weekend and nobody was there to hand the keys to. I turned in the truck EARLIER than I had anticipated, but am still getting this charge.Evan B.

Nobody called to confirm the reservation. Advice would be to call and do that. They told us, we were lucky to get a truck (even though I had reserved in advance online). When we arrived at the pick-up location on the invoice, they informed us that they didn't have the truck and we had to go to another location. Our truck made a horrible noise - we drove for 6 hours, it was so loud you couldn't hear the other person talk.Michael B.

We waited over a half hour to pick up because the employee was struggling with the check in process. The same thing happened when we returned the truck. She charged me for insurance that i didn't want without asking me. I previously waived the insurance online. When I called her about it, she said she couldn't help me and that I would have to call U-Haul. Truck was great. Service was poor. When I arrived for my 11:30am scheduled pick up time, no one was there. I called a number that was on the door and talked to a guy about my rental and around that time a lady pulled up and went into the office. I walked in and asked about the rental and she came across mean and rude and asked me why I didn't use the uhaul app and do it on there. I explained that I did not know how to do it that way and she huffed and said she doesn't even know where to find the paperwork to rent it. I did most of it online so basically she just needed my drivers license and credit card. After a bit of listening to her being upset, I told her that we can just cancel it and that all I wanted was to rent a truck and not try to be a bother. After I got the keys, I went out to look at the truck and noticed that the back had been left open and there was a big puddle of water and leaves in the back. Normally, I may not have said anything but since I was picking up new furniture, I wanted to make sure it was clean. When I went in to ask the lady if she had a towel or something to get the water and leaves out she huffed again and said "why would I have a towel?" She eventually went out and swept the back out. I left not wanting to ever rent from them again. Even worse, I got back 1/2 hour later and they charged me for an additional day. I only rented it for 3 hours so it really upsets me to have the charge of an additional day. What kind of penalty do they get for being almost 20 minutes late to rent the truck to me. You want to charge me for an additional day because I apparently didn't come back on time but you are not held accountable for your actions? Very bad service and I will make sure I tell others!Michael R.

Did not have equipment at requested dealer even though 1 week in advance, but second location worked out fine. Online check in did not work, kept asking me for info i had filled in at time of reservation. I have an account, so this should have been easier. Alternate contact I listed at time of check in was contacted, but she did not pick up because she did not recognize number. Caused a delay, and onsite clerk just handled everything manually.Gerald L.

Be sure the checklist has been completed. During my trip, the passenger-side windshield wiper did not work, creating a very unsafe condition as I was driving through a winter storm, over 1500 miles. Also, the cab of the truck was not clean prior to my pickup.

I don't blame the location but the truck wasn't well maintained. The truck didn't run well and the gauges weren't functioning properly. When they went to record the mileage it hadn't been recorded in almost 200,000 miles. The lady at Lakeville was fantastic. I just think U-Haul needs to maintain their fleet better.Tracy C.

Needed to rent a truck to move. Went on the U Haul website Friday to set up truck for Sat. Filled out all required information, did the early ck in so I would be ready to do when I picked it up. Did this for the Central Self Storage dealer on 21002 Heron Way Lakeville, MN. Was there for 45 min because the person working "couldn't get the system to work". So we left and went to Lakeville Dodd Storage store and were in and out in 10 min. She didn't have a problem getting the system to work.CORY P.

When we dropped off the U-Haul, Nancy was in a hurry to get out of the office. Wanted us to leave without a written confirmation. We refused. She stated it would take her a long time and not sure if she new how to do it. We insisted on waiting. She insisted we would receive a confirmation of delivery by email or phone message. She finally did something handed us a receipt and we both left. As we were driving down the road we noticed the receipt was for a 20 foot truck not a 15 foot truck for a Todd Fitterer. We were not Todd! We rented under the name of Janice Knieff. We then returned to the U-Haul in Lakeville and of course Nancy was gone. We then called the number on the door and she answered. Nancy said it was o.k. that we had wrong receipt that we would receive confirmation by e-mail or phone. Our trust of U-Haul was and is completely gone. Nancy said she would not be back In the office till later and we could come back or wait. Needless to say we left frustrated and worried if the return of the truck we rented was official. We did eventually get the confirmation on our phone with the miles credit but no $50.00 gas credit. Very Very disappointing.JANICE K.

The pickup process was extremely slow, incredibly aggravating and beyond difficult. My original reservation was in Burnsville, MN but, the day prior to pickup, I was notified that the pickup site was moved 15 miles further away from me to Lakeville, MN. In addition to the extra distance, my pickup time was also delayed then from 7AM until 10AM due to the new location not being open until 10AM. (which was why I selected the original location in the first place). This forced me to change my original plans while also notifying the dozen people helping me, that our start time had been pushed back by 3 hours due to the changes by UHaul the night prior to our move. Picking up the truck took 45min, even after I had gone through the express pickup process online which seemed to do literally nothing since I had to provide the exact same info at the facility. The 2 handtrucks and furniture pads that I reserved online were not ready when I finally got through the pickup process and the facility didn't have any handtrucks at their site so they screwed me again. And finally, the truck had a gas tank that was 7/16ths full and I was expected to return the truck with as much gas or get charged a refilling fee. What company in their right mind expects you to refill a gas tank that isn't full when you take possession? I then get the pleasure of guessing when I've pumped enough gas to get the truck between 7/16ths and half a tank of gas, clearly favoring extra gas in the truck so UHaul has the advantage again. This was possibly one of the worst managed processes I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and will literally never use UHaul again because of this whole ordeal.MICHAEL C.

Person working appeared to be a temp and she said she was unfamiliar with the computer system. Truck windshield was so full of tree sap and bugs that I had to stop to clean it so I could safely drive. Tire warning light was on the whole time. I didn't have time to check the tires. it was a gas station 20 miles from my place there were 5 other locations including a main facility with 10 miles of me and the trailer was dirty,fender was bad and non of the lights worked had to have a service call before i could start my trip not coolwilliam W.

I had paid for a uhaul on 7 June to be picked up at 11300 Hull St.RD, Midlothian, VA on the 28th of June. I was told the truck would be at that location on the 28th, It was not, instead a truck had to be picked up at the above location (19) miles away. After calling all I was told was that was all they could do. So much for that $50. guarantee. I had paid for the truck in full on the 7th of June, however the person at the above location apparently did not get the word and refused to give the truck without a credit card. It took two hours to get it straightened out because this fellow not only was hard headed and rude, he could barely speak english. It took my nephew to call the district manager to get it straight. Being in the military I rented uhauls hundreds of times. I have never been so disgusted in my life with the handling of this rental. I will never rent another uhaul, I will also spread the word on your "so called" guarantee.BEVERLY B.
