The truck did not run well at all. The mirrors were not secure so they moved while I was driving. Even with nothing in it the truck wasn't easy to stop.Jason W.
The woman that answered the door was very rude! I will never pick up a vehicle at this location. The lady I spoke to on the phe for help was amazing so kind, patient and helpful. She's your backbone!!!Jesus C.
I just got hit with an extra $25.00 cleaning fee! I have rented from Uhaul several times but the first time from this location. Truck was left just like a got it, but I see this charge is very common at this location from other customer's reviews. I had to submit a complaint thru Uhaul about his location to try to get my $25.00 back. This is ridiculous!Jonathan O.

Friendly location-When I picked up, wiring was defective but they switched the harness for a new one. BEWARE!! Online reservations will LIE and no matter how far in advance you reserve-you will not get the location of choice!! Took me 3 hours round trip to pick up the trailer at a â€œconvenientâ€ alternative location. Call the exact location directly!!!!dawn T.

Returned truck five hours early with more gas in it then I got. I cleaned the truck out But they changed me a $25 cleaning fee any way. They must have swept all the nooks and crannies out they sent me pictures of very little dirt. Tried calling to discuss this and they didn't want to discuss this and hung the phone up on me. Aweful experience from original rental location...U haul Antioch,Illinois (route 173)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING else was fine. Was not given all of rental information by Antioch,Illinois Changed pick location to after hours and had no available â€œappâ€ capability...made reservation one month prior to pickup. Was told different instructions for pick up by 3 different people....MULTIPLE phone calls!!...each time I was given different instructions which contradicted the other....finally had enough and called general manager of Antioch,Illinois and he did nothing except â€œdo you want the truck or notâ€. I made reservation one month prior to pick up and all this started with multiple phone calls TO me by u haul â€œschedulersâ€ the afternoon prior to pick up. Then after all phone calls from u haul to me, my initial phone call back to confirm all the contradicted info, I was told that my pick up location had been moved to yet another location again 20 miles away. RIDICULOUSNESS!!! U haul manager offered me NOTHING but asking me if I wanted the truck or not!!!!!!Petra W.

The centralized reservation system is atrocious. I reserved a trailer at a local business, but when I went to pick it up they didn't have it. I had to drive out of town to find what I needed, and that cost me about two hours of valuable time. It would have been more convenient to be able to call directly to the local business and ask if the needed equipment is available. The website needs to list the dealers direct phone number so reservations or equipment verification can be made.Steve S.
Location itself was a bit intimidating. Not the nicest looking place. To be honest I was a bit nervous about being a single woman there. However once I met the owner he was more than nice and helpful. Shows you can't judge a book by it's cover.Susan F.

Terry came in early to meet with us so we could hold to a schedule. Very helpfull and positive. The truck needs a new exhaust system and was very loud. I Got a surprise on our Bill of $25.00 cleaning fee . The truck Box was cleaned when returned. Pat said that we did not "sweep" it out. We rent trucks at least once a month for our church for the last 3 years. We always turn them back in clean and filled to the top with gas. We will never rent from this location again. Be aware of extra hidden charges.John F.

This location was great, but U-Haul online isn't good at all. I ordered my truck from McHenry for a reason and had to pick it up from a Lake Villa location. Nobody let me know this. Poor poor poor communication. It made my move much tougher. Not a good experience at all and will likely use another service in the future.Brian A.

This location wasn't the issue- the entire online reservation experience was awful. Reservation was made and then the evening before I was to pick up the trailer I received a text that indicated my pick up was to be at a different spot AND no one told me the place didn't open till 10 and my reservation was for 8 am. I scheduled a trailer and then I found out that Uhaul changed the timing without a call. I called in and was given a discount on a truck but when I arrived at the location to pick up all the information for pricing was wrong. It took 40 minutes on the phone thru the local agent to get it correct. Not very happy about that.Kalvin A.

This was not where I was scheduled to pick up nor was it ready at the time I scheduled. I was not contacted about the change until after the scheduled pick up time and I was on my way to the McHenry location. This was farther away and the time change made it impossible to leave as I had intended. The inside of truck was covered in animal hair, back of truck had dirt and debris. Person essentially hooked up my car and disappeared, there was no one who inspected the truck with me before I left the lot.Nathan F.

Pat was kind, considerate and knowledgeable. Respected me, not condescending, as some men are when a woman rents a trailer. I've been towing boats behind my big old GMC truck and backing them into places for decades. If I didn't know what I was doing, I wouldn't be renting a trailer. Great meeting Pat. I have only rented a vehicle with a less than full tank in third world countries where the renter hopes to earn a little more free gas by customers trying to fill the tank to 5/8th's full (as in my case) to avoid a $25 fee. I most certainly swept clean the truck prior to returning it and even filled the tank an extra 1/16 of a tank. The couple who runs this place claimed that the truck was dirty and needed to be swept. I'm only sorry I didn't take pictures, but I've never had any issues with cleanliness or damage with any Uhaul trucks or trailers I've rented over the years because I always return the rentals clean. In this instance, when I called to inquire if the charge was a mistake, a co-owner at this location hung up on me. There are lots of Uhaul options. I would steer clear of this one.Momir M.
