We live in Westfort and there are 2 places to rent u haul one location is for 1 way trips only there were 2 trucks sitting in there parking lot all day. Land of spices is way out of our way . Kingsway motel only has 1 truck and unfortunately for us it was rented. It coast us way more in mileage!

EDWARD MThe parking lot is very small, so you cannot back the trailer correctly. The manager and workers are very threatening to customers. The workers are distracted by their other customers coming in to purchase the East Indian food they sell, so its a long process to get the trailer hooked up and unhooked when returned.
Sterling FWinter tire was not on even the tire which is on was there's no life left on it. I got stuck in snow when I tried to cook for a help. Just asking 500 bucks approximately. We thought never ever going to rent from U-Haul again.

AIDAN BThis was far from a seamless rental... First, despite the U-Haul website saying that it's possible to pick up the rental outside of regular business hours using the U-Haul app, the night before my rental pickup for 8:00 a.m. the following morning, the dealer called and advised that they don't have the lockbox system to allow me to get the key, and I had to drive in a raging snowstorm to rent the vehicle that night to be able to get the key in time for me to pick up my rental the next morning as their business didn't open until 11:00 a.m. Second, after getting the key and knowing that the business would be closed when I had to pick up the vehicle, I went to start it to make sure it ran. The drivers side door had not been properly closed following the previous rental and return inspection and the driver's side seat, dash and inside door panel was covered in snow. I asked the attending U-Haul person to make sure that was cleaned out before I came to pick it up the next morning and to ensure that there was a snow brush/scraper inside the truck for me to be able to clear the windows and mirrors after the snowstorm. Upon arrival the next morning, the snow was still there and there was no snow brush. I had to retrieve the one I had in my personal vehicle. Finally, upon arrival the next morning, it was colder that heck with a brutal cold wind. I decided to start up the truck to let it warm up before leaving. I unlocked the door, started the truck and closed the door. After 10-15 minutes I went to take the truck and the door was locked. I couldn't access the vehicle at all. I called U-Haul customer service and they told me I'd have to pay $200 for roadside assistance to unlock the truck. I argued that I hadn't even move the truck one inch and that there was something obviously wrong with the lock. I believe during the freezing rain and then snow and wind we had the previous day, with the door slightly ajar, that the lock froze up and didn't fully unlock when I initially turned the key, and when I closed the door, the latch shifted and relocked the truck. I know I did not press the lock tab on the door. Despite pleading my case, and asking for the local dealer and/or the area service manager to be contacted to let me in, the Customer Service person was demanding I pay the $200. The CS rep said that if I paid the $200 and the dealer later determined that there was a problem with the truck, that I'd be reimbursed. Yeah, sure - I know how that conversation was going to go. And it turns out that I had the truck inside a heated building for 2 hours so everything thawed out and worked fine after that so I would have been stiffed with the bill. I ended up contacting a colleague who had the proper tools to provide the lockout service for me and get me on my way. Meanwhile I was 45 minutes late for my pick-up appointment. Like I said, this was far from seamless both, with the dealer and with U-Haul Customer Service.

Marja KTerrible cleanliness, no furniture pads inside, I filled the tank and they said it was 9 litres down which is not possible based on the amount of fuel I put in vs mileage driven. Parking lot is very tight so getting truck out not as simple as it seems. Lots of other customers at the business in the small lot that don't care you are trying to move a truck in or out.
Derek TFuel the vehicle and clean the loading area. In addition to that get newer vehicles. The one I was given I could tell was old, roll up window and everything. It's good from going to point A to B although expect to pay a hefty cost in fuel going across Canada (prolly would be cheaper with a new vehicle, maybe at least disclose to the customer if they'll be getting an older vehicle). Oh yea, it's winter and I got all season tires. Your lucky I'm a great driver but can you say the same about everyone, so please put winter tires on that are designed for winter conditions. ON and BC aren't always forgiving. Overall it did the job but I was left unimpressed. oh and include ice scraper in the vehicle, like what, that cheap huh??

VIJO CTruck needed basic maintenance supplies that were not available at the pick up location ie: windshield washer fluid, engine oil and coolant that were all low. Location was very busy and had no one designated to the U-Haul rental so it was a very long wait. Friendly service though

JOHN KAgent was polite but could hardly communicate in English. Basically handed me the keys and didn’t even tell us which truck to go to. Small grocery store parking lot and hard to get out of. Took 35 minutes to get our print out and key. Reserved a 20 foot and got a 26. Reserved a car hauler and was told not even 24 hours prior that there wasn’t one. Second time this has happened. U-Haul staff in Kingston on princess were amazing. Dealing in Thunder Bay was an exhausting and majorly disappointing experience

HARSHIL PWe had a pick up time for 11am. We were waiting in line to be helped for almost an hour! The guy at the counter didnt really know what he was doing. We finally got our keys just after 12pm. We had the truck for 5 hours. Obviously we r counting it as 5 hours from the time we got the keys, not the time we were supposed to pick them up. I got a missed call at around 4pm from them and no voicemail. At drop off it took the same guy 30 minutes to actually take the keys back from us and he was gonna charge us late fees because he forgot he was super busy and didnt give us the keys on time. He said he remembered and wouldn't charge us extra. Later that night I got the final receipt... I was charged twice! You bet i was upset. I called uhaul at just after 11pm and they explained to me that I was indeed charged incorrectly and that they will refund me almost $40! I always use uhaul, but i will NEVER be coming to this location ever again. The service was HORRENDOUS!

PAULINE PUhaul is a thief and absolutely disgusting organization. Uhaul has doubled standards where a customer is forced to overpay for any gas needed to make up where the gas level was when picked up. However, I returned the truck with double the amount of gas only to find out how disgusting this horrible organization is. I hate Uhaul, their policies are what's wrong with society. I hope Uhaul goes out of business and the CEO goes bankrupt.

MAHROOF ALocation is good but the parking lot is very small and limited space. If you don’t know how to back up with a trailer or maneuver it tight places, you be Fu**ed!!!

STEPHANIE OI placed the hold July 31st and asked for blankets. I only found out there were no blankets available upon pick-up, August 22nd. It would have been helpful to know this ahead of time so I could have borrowed blankets. Some on the furniture that was moved got scuffed as we did not have enough blankets of our own.

Sandra CDropping off to this location was challenging enough with the limited space. Containers of spoiled milk and random garbage littered the outside of the premises. The representative had issues with my deposit being returned to my card and no idea how to resolve the issue. I had to call customer support and pass them over to the representative so they understood an area rep must be contacted. I also, requested if there could be a price adjustment due to the issues and the fact I returned the equipment 3 days early. When the initial rep contacted me to return to the store the next day there would be an adjustment. When I arrived to pick up the funds the new representative had a difficult time sourcing where the cash was left then informed me I was locked in a contract and would only receive my deposit. This location should receive 0 stars. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend it.
DANIEL DWhere to start . . . My sister phoned the Uhaul location at 707 Memorial Avenue in Thunder Bay, Ont., a week prior to our need for a medium truck and was told it would be 99 cents a kilometre. I reserved the truck after I received the information from my sister shortly after her call and when I got to the Memorial location, I was told Uhaul works with miles and that it would be $1.92 per mile (Besides the kilometres to miles change, my sister was not informed that there was lower rates for weekdays versus weekends). That’s on us for not doing our due diligence and asking more questions pertaining to your rates. When I arrived at 11 a.m. on Saturday, one of the questions I was asked was if I wanted insurance. I adamantly said no a couple of times as I told the counter worker I had personal car insurance and company insurance that would cover any incident. When I returned to drop off the truck, the insurance had still been added to my bill. I was also told before I left with the truck that I was to “fill the gas tank close to where the gas gauge line is currently at.” When I returned the truck after filling the tank close to the original line, the attendee told me I had to go back to the gas station and fill it more. I reluctantly went to the gas station and put a little more gas into the tank. I was also frustrated that the attendee asked me to open the back of the truck when I returned to check if there was any damage. Tired from moving heavy objects for six hours, I thought he would open the back of the truck as I’m the client. I asked to see an itemized bill and saw that the insurance had been tacked on. We went inside the store and I told the attendee that I did not take the insurance. He phoned the counter worker that was working in the morning when I arrived to pick up the truck and he told the attendee that I accepted the insurance, which I did not. The attendee didn’t take the insurance off the bill and gave me the number to customer service. Jasmine at customer service was sympathetic to my cause and reversed the $16 insurance charge. I know it’s only $16, but it’s the principle of the thing. Uhaul corporate might want to talk to the proprietors of this location regarding dealing with clients in a proper manner. At least three businesses are being run out of the small, cramped lower floor of the building - Uhaul among them - and with the way my experience went, I believe they are spreading themselves too thin. The truck worked great. The customer service at this location left much to be desired.
JOHN NAlthough we had significant issues with the trailer (wiring not working, trailer not swept out, having to return the trailer for a different one after we had already loaded) the staff and area manager Andrew went above and beyond to help, repair, adjust, and make things right. Uhaul should be proud to have Andrew in their employ—his customer service is absolutely top notch. There were issues but uhaul staff did everything to rectify the situation and in the end ensured we were happy. Will rent again and again with uhaul because of their exceptional customer service.

NAOMI OI rented a tow dolley to tow my truck but none were available so they upgraded me to a trailer which was ok but it was the wrong size of trailer so it was to short from the info i put in
AUDREY LVehicle was not available at this location at 9:00 despite renting it for 9:00. Had to return at 11:00. Why is the uHaul system allowing these rentals. Vehicle was in need of TPMS service as well as a cleaning.

PANKAJ KI found the in-person check in process very slow and left me slightly worried about my identity being stolen. The young lady took a very long time to process my rental. often taking photo's of the computer screen and swapping back and forth between the computer and her phone and required me to repeat information many times. No issues with language or the like, just got the impression she was either new, inexperienced, or just not ver proficient. The uhaul app check in process was fine and normal however i noticed they had not loaded my dolly into the truck and I had to go back in and wait my turn in line before i was able to get a dolly. The lot is VERY small and jam packed with uhaul equipment, a dumpster and a 52 foot transport trailer along with normal traffic for their store so getting OUT of the lot without hitting anything was difficult and time consuming. Overall I liked the lady I dealt with but will not rent a truck from this location again just for the difficulty in leaving the lot.
SHAMUS CUnit very dirty in can and suspension was very worn the steering wheel was shaking vigorously was not able to take on the highway.we used it to pick up our new furniture etc then a dump run and my 13 year old granddaughter in the truck and she felt unsafe in the truck and didn’t like the vibration.Our records show you that we use your business regularly including large moves across the country and never had an issue.Im an Aircraft Mechanic never seen such neglect of maintenance!!!!!!!!!!

I booked a van and 2 days later was told it was noy available and I would have to go to a different location and get a larger truck , which did not fit in my apartment parking lot......my reservation was cancelled and I was told it didn't exist until I gave the woman the #,,,,,,,,,the guy in Thunder Bay is a good guy and he sorted out the mess , but the people on the phone lied to me and told me I was wrong,,,, I know what days I was flying in and I know what van I wanted, Also the vans were available and sat at the other location all weekend.
