Your staff person was very friendly and helpful. Regarding the location, I recommend that you install better lighting in your parking lot and make some improvements. I returned the truck after dark and it was very difficult to see. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Thank you.

On 3/8/26 I rented a uhaul truck at the Lapeer MI SELF STORAGE location. The truck got stuck in mud and I had purchased the road hazard. It took them 2 hours to get to us and another hour to release the truck so we waited 3 hours of time we had help moving. I returned the truck before the 9pm return time at 811 pm the website would not work for me to complete the online information. I text the number that I had been chatting with from uhaul about the road hazard reporting and let them know the truck was returned since I couldn't get into the website. Uhaul wants to charge me a $20 late fee. They will not remove the fee even though all this occurred. The gas was also right where we received it- just below a quarter tank.

Great service. Quick pick up and drop off. Truck was exactly as described/expected. The woman I dealt with was kind, polite, and helpful. This is the second time I've rented from this location, and I actually have 2 that are closer to me, but I will continue to drive a few minutes further to use this location instead.

I rented a car trailer, and it was just kind of beat up all over and one of the wheel straps was ripped. It was like 445 and the lady didn’t come out and hook up my trailer so it took me like 10 minutes to get lined up to the back of it because I was by myself. I’ve rented a fair amount from U-Haul, and this was the worst experience. I never got the link to submit the return paperwork but I dropped the trailer off at 10:30 that night.

The ride was very bumpy. I don’t know if that’s how trucks are. But, I thought all my stuff had to be hopping around back there. Seemed rough. The drivers mirror refused to stay put in the position I had adjusted it to. Which made it difficult to see cars in the other lane. Very dangerous. Pulled over numerous times to readjust it. And the steering wheel is a little crooked while your driving so it might need an alignment.

Not enough lighting outside units and would be nice to have a light inside unit. Lighting was actually horrible for a storage facility. Couldn't get out through the gate one night but elizabeth was helpful and said she would rescue us if needed. Don't think gate was fixed when I moved out. Office hours normal and 10 pm access nice but later would be better. Staff was friendly. No excuse why the owner can't mantain the business better with amount of money made every month

The unit I rented leaked and a bunch of my furniture and other items were ruined. And while I should have obtained insurance, I did not think I would have to be insured against the storage place itself. You would think for the money you pay, being dry would be one of the expectations.

My belongings were very dirty (severe dust & cotton seed) from using this storage unit due to units are not completely enclosed up by the ceilings. My belongings were at a different storage facility for 4 years and was alot cleaner prior to this storage facility. I believe due to open ceiling with all other units is the problem.
