Will never use UHaul again. The software is HORRIBLE AND A WASTE OF TIME....SPENT 3 HOURS AFTER DOWNLOADING APP. Finally the local person got rescued by the 6 or 7th person he contacted.

I was charged a second day’s rent for a trailer that I returned within 20 minutes of the rental location’s morning opening. I had rented the trailer at 3 pm the previous day and was unable to return it by closing time a couple of hours later. The trailer was not supplied with a means to elevate the hitch and it had to be disconnected by an employee with the location’s own jack. So I returned the trailer the next morning shortly after opening. I should not have been charged an extra day’s rent. Fail.

I am just repeating my previous comments. This was the WORST customer service experience I have ever had. The truck was dirty and only had a quarter tank of gas when we picked it up..The appliance dolly had a strap that was maybe 4 feet long and far too small for any of our average sized appliances, so it was unusable. We had to drive an hour down the mountain to get the uhaul, and then an hour back so we could load it, and then an hour back down the mountain to head out. It added up to roughly an extra 250 extra miles that I had to fight for. I am disabled and had to break the trip up by planning my route according to family and friends locations so I had somewhere comfortable to try and recover from the days long drive. For me to safely arrive at my destination; I can only drive for 6 or 7 hours in a day before I have to stop for the night. The woman at the drop off site was incredibly rude. She had other angry customers because there aren’t any signs directing uhaul returns and pick ups, there is no indication that there is an office beyond their cattle fence. There is also no way to see if there is a way to drive through without having to turn around. I was driving a 26 foot truck with a vehicle transport in tow. The manager was incredibly disrespectful, walked away when we got there and told the cashier to tell us just to wait without giving us any direction with the truck: She did not have a broom so I could sweep out the truck and gave me an attitude about it. I wasn’t comfortable driving the giant truck to a local gas station because we don’t have travel centers anywhere near me. I didn’t want to get the truck stuck. Lastly, my payment didn’t go through on my sons card and instead of approaching us let us know, she yelled across the parking lot in front of customers that the payment was declined. I asked her to try again and if it didn’t go through to send us a bill. She then screamed that I would never rent another uhaul ever again. After this experience, she is definitely right about that! I always use Budget and I move long distances every year or two. This time uhaul had a deal going and the tow trailer was less expensive than Budget, so I took a chance on uhaul. I won’t make that mistake again. Apparently I’m black listed anyway, The pick up experience wasn’t as bad as the drop off, but then again, when the manager of a business where you are the patron screams at you that a payment was declined and I would never be able to rent a uhaul ever again. It doesn’t seem likely her customer service skills could be fine tuned at her age, I have never been so humiliated during a business transaction in my life.

A walk through on where to drop the key after hours would have been helpful. I cleaned all the windows; prior to using, and prior to returning. The interior was in the same condition returned as when I picked it up, yet I got popped a cleaning fee.

This store is taking advantage of its customers with additional fees. Getting my rental was easy and painless but how they are taking advantage of customers that became very apparent. All of their trucks are parked in a dirt lot with dried grass. I rented a 10ft box truck to move a single large appliance and drove it less than 10 miles. The cab has dust and some dried grass from where it is commonly parked. Upon my returning the truck in the exact state and with fuel gauge still on F. I was charged a $25 cleaning fee because, “I didn’t sweep it out and there was a piece of grass or something in the back”. This looks to be a routine practice by the way this was executed. Never coming back it, it was a joke.

I turned the truck in a day early after bringing the gas up to 15/16 of a tank. I have a picture of the dash with the mileage and fuel level. I parked it in the field next to the other U-haul vehicles and walked into the building looking for someone to check in the vehicle. The cashier at Larsens could not provide any sort of receipt of return, or any other acknowledgement than taking the key and saying they would email me a receipt. She was friendly in her demeanor. Today I received a receipt via email from U-Haul reflecting a charge of $61.06 for 6 gallons of fuel plus a $20.00 "After Hours Service Fee", plus taxes. The emailed receipt showed the fuel level as being 3/4 of a tank. I called Larsens and advised that the fuel amount was incorrect, and that I have a picture of the dash with the mileage and fuel gauge reflecting the 15/16 tank level, which is a higher level than when I received the vehicle. I also advised that I returned the vehicle during normal business hours (12:17 PM JULY 3) so there should not be an after hours charge. She said she would get back to me. It appears to me that this may be a standard practice at this location as means of squeezing money from renters who may not think to document the return details. I am disputing the charges.

Great service from Larsens. U hauls website was almost useless, Half of my license was uploaded. The store owner had to take the time to take a picture of my license after I already uploaded it the previous night. I Signed up to go to the store and pick the keys up, I uploaded everything you asked for... when your site wasn't down on my/their end. I've rented two u hauls in the past week from two stores, your network was the problem both times. These people renting your vehicles are busy running their own business. I shouldn't have to take time from them to fix things your company screwed up.

Larsen's Feed is a great location for people in between Petaluma, Cotati, Rohnert Park and the rural points west of there. It's a busy, well regarded feed store, so that fact gives you an idea of what's happening there. Also, they're open everyday. As a U-Haul rental point, if you don't need the moving supplies, just the vehicle, they're worth a look. I do have a gripe with U-Haul with their app and website. For the most part, both are excellent, but a bit buggy regarding completing a reservation. But I just went to Larsen's and they found me in the U-Haul system easily, completed my transaction and I was on my way. I love the U-Haul return process. If you have the app on your phone, it's a snap! Cheers!

They claimed the mileage was way more than we used and we returned the vehicle with the same amount of gas as when we picked it up but they claimed it was less. They also tried to blame us for a dent that was already there at the time of pickup.

This review has much less to do with Larsen Feed than it does with U-Haul and their policies in general. Don’t move my 6 AM reservation to an 830 AM 25 miles away. The truck I had came with the check engine light on, potentially causing the 3.5 less average MPG than was listed. I started off this U-Haul fiasco by calling in to get a more accurate quote and on the date of my pickup (3 weeks after quote) was informed it would be $1400 (fourteen hundred, not a typo) more than what I was quoted originally (~$875). They did nothing at the time to try and rectify the situation, only rudely point out that I could have found their error in the confirmation emails. When I went back to check the confirmation emails, there was no information that was incorrect or able to be seen from my end that was incorrect. So I put in a complaint and was given a $500 refund. That still doesn’t fill the remaining $900 I was out and I’m left feeling very unsatisfied as a U-Haul customer. I will be forever warning my family and friends not to use Uhaul for any of their needs going forward unless I can be fully refunded. Overall this was an extremely stressful situation to deal with in an already stressful move out of state. My funds are limited between jobs and this was a burden I didn’t need or expect.

The customer service at this location was excellent and very helpful, but there were difficulties accessing my reservation online because their internet connection was troublesome. With a little patience and good humor, however, I was successful in picking up the equipment and they were able to contact uhaul by phone to change my return location to a more convenient place.

The truck was good and the size that we wanted. The problem was that it wasn’t from the location that I originally reserved and when I was notified it was too late to change. It added an extra 18 miles plus gas expenses that I hadn’t planned for.

The fuel filler hose was cut by someone to siphon gas through, so when I went to fill it up with fuel after I picked it up, fuel spilled all over the ground under the truck. I had to buy duct tape to patch the hose to get fuel in it. I picked it up with 3/8 of a tank. If Uhaul required previous renters to fill the tank prior to returning the truck, this wouldn't happen because either A. they wouldn't be able to put gas in it without knowing that the fuel line had been cut or B. I woukd have noticed that the fuel tank was not full when I picked it up (i.e. the fuel was stolen while in Uhaul's possession. ) I use rental cars for my business and they are always issued with a full tank and require all returns to have a full tank or you get charged for it and the rental car company fuels the car full for the next renter. Uhaul should most definitely adopt this practice.

Using the U-Haul app for my drop off was extremely difficult since it could not find my location on GPS it took me 30 minutes to complete the process. Extremely disappointed with the so-called convenience of the app. A massive waste of my time and a huge frustration.

The lady I spoke to on June 4th at 12:30 pm at Larsen’s Feed was highly rude to me. I did not appreciate the tone she spoke to me in at all. I paid a lot of money for this service, so I expected good quality and respect. There was a lack of communication all around in this U-Haul company, and it caused me to lose money. I am a college student moving into a new house, and I lost money because of a mistake this company made on my order summary. There was a different date for it, and a different date on my contract for the drop off date. This caused me to get charged an extra day for something I was not aware of. Make sure all dates align for truck drop off, on both order summary and contracts, because if not, it will cause more confusion for customers in the future, and my situation will also potentially happen to them as well. This will surely drive more customers away because they are afraid of losing money also. I was already mad as it was that I lost more money from this mistake, but what made it worse was the lady’s attitude that helped me. She did not pay attention to my concerns I was voicing to her, and just helped another customer instead. I felt ignored and like I did not matter as a customer. That was by far one of the most degrading customer service experiences I’ve had in a while, and I will never use this company again.

I was charged for 4 extra days after the employees decided to close early and told me we’d get two for free. Dropped off on the 3rd day but because the front desk didn’t know what they were doing, we got charged another day since it wasn’t turned in by 3… absolutely ridiculous
