I had spoken to a few different managers and this location will receive more training after my encounter. I did receive a credit to help me out for the mishap, BUT this was a very unprofessional experience. I have never had this happen with uhaul and I’m not too sure if I will use them again unless it’s absolutely necessary. I went into our local Feel Good Floors in Lexington Wednesday 8/26 and asked if they had a uhaul available for Saturday 8/29, the woman said they had one left. I immediately went and booked it, got confirmation, gave my card info and printed my reservation. Come Friday 8/28, I am checking my reservation to see the earliest pickup time, and what may need to be completed before check in and I discover my reservation has been moved to law road exit 28 minutes from my house! Feel good floors was 10 minutes! No one called me to notify me or ask if that was okay. I call the 1-800 number the First Lady I spoke to was very rude, told me she’s sorry it is what it is, it’s their “busy season”, which I understand and is why I booked in advance. I was told that myself and someone else had booked 10 minutes apart and they were given my reservation. I called law road multiple times to try to talk to someone, the number on Uhaul website is wrong you have to call the convenience store. I was told the owner isn’t there and won’t be until the next day which is when my booking was. I called the 1-800 back talked to a different lady, she’s the one that gave me the $50 guarantee. Let me know my reservation is successfully booked at law road and that I am secured a uhaul. I get to law road and they tell me they don’t do them anymore and they shouldn’t have rented me one for that location. They give me the owners number and he gets the intake started and takes all my info over the phone, I then had to wait 30 minutes into my booking time to wait for someone else to arrive with the truck keys. We get in the uhaul and it has ashes all inside and liquid spilled in the cup holders. When we get back to return the uhaul they did not go check the vehicle at all. I had to call the 1800 myself to get it checked in because by Monday it still hadn’t been. And come to find out we took the wrong truck! I ended up driving 47.7 miles when originally I would’ve only drove 22.4 if I had gotten my original booking.
