I hoped that I could have picked up my truck rental at the U Haul location at 2929 washington Blvd, Lansdowne MD but was sent to Leeds Ave Gulf gas station near my move to pick up my unit. The location was closest to my house. Unfortunately, the person who processed my reservation could care less about me or my needs. He was behind bullet proof glass. I must have interrupted his sleep when I went to pick up the truck. His printer was offline so he gave me a key and rental jacket and told me to go to Uhaul.com to print my contract. The Leeds Ave location contact phone number listed on the email confirmation was a cell phone that was not set up. I was unable to reach the location by phone so I had to drive over to the location and insure the truck was at the location on the day of pick up. When I asked him what was the story about his phone number he just ignored me.When he gave me the furniture trolley that I had rented, the wheels we hanging off and told me that was the last one he had. I told him he could keep it and I would contact Uhaul by phone for assistance, Uhaul sent me over to 2929 Washington Blvd in Lansdowne MD where I was able to pick a up a new furniture dolly that worked. There, I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Ralph Williams who was the owner operator of this UHaul location. He helped me load the new furniture dolly into the back of the unit and then told me to wait for a sec. He returned with a wet mop and proceed to mop out the unit without me asking. I was stunned.He took the extra measure to insure the truck was ready for the road. He was a true professional and went the extra mile for me even though he did not rent me the unit. What more can I say except, I hope someone from U Haul corporate calls him personally and recognize him for going above and beyond the call of duty. He is a a true professional and an asset to your company. He made the whole experience memorable and the truck preformed very well on the road. I also contracted with Moving Up Movers thru U Haul and they did an excellent job loading the truck. Clevon and Ernie were great . I had 7 corporate moves in my work career and moved across the country.These two guys were right up at the top of the list for providing excellent service. Overall I had an excellent Uhaul experience minus the start with Leeds Ave Gulf. It all started with Mr. Williams and ended when I dropped off the truck today. Best Regards Jim G .JAMES G.

It was one of those gas stations that were like a fortress protecting the worker. At the U-Haul place, I talked to the worker through a microphone, and put my ID in the tray that slid into the worker area. It took us over an hour to get there. and they didn't even have a bathroom available. Nor did they have a bathroom at another place across the street. My wife had to beg to use their employee restroom. But that was not the U-Haul business. It was a different business that reluctantly let her use the bathroom. Yet this was the closest location (to Baltimore) that had the truck I needed.David M.

Lack of communication of where I wanted my Uhaul truck. Asked for it to be in the Catonsville location and had to go to the Halethorpe location because the truck was not available in Catonsville. This was not communicated to me, and ended up being a huge waste of time for me and my family during the move.Ryan L.
My overall experience wasn't great. I tried to pick up a 15' truck at the 2929 Washington Blvd location but even though I had 4 bars on my phone and Location Services turned on it wouldn't connect. I had 2 guys waiting for me at $40/hr and had to go to the Leeds Ave location which was supposed to open at 8:00 am but didn't open until 8:15. The guy at the Leeds location was very nice and I got a 20' truck for the 15' truck rate which was also helpful. The operators who were helping me when I was at the Wash Blvd location were great. I'm glad you have a 24 hr hotline. When I was waiting for the Leeds Ave location to open I called 2 times to try and get another truck and both times they transferred me to a Scheduling Specialist but they aren't open until 9:00 am on Sundays. Due to having to go to a location that was further away I paid more in mileage fees. I had to pay my helpers more for waiting around for 1.5 hrs. Today when I got my bill I noticed i was charged for 2 days. I called the 800# and the operator said she has to have the manager of the Leeds Ave location call me to make the correction. I called 1 hour ago and I still haven't had a call back.David R.

The attendant was slow and snotty. The fuel estimate was wrong (9/16 is not the same as a quarter tank). Transmission was loose. At the end of the day, mission accomplished but I might as well have used a cherry red wagon like i had when I was 5.Garrett H.

The drivers side rear tire kept going flat. I had to go out of my way 4 times to get air and the location was unable to credit me any mileage. Both of the doors didn't hinge correctly and when it hit a bump the passenger door came unhinged (didn't open thank goodness) bBonnie C.
I spent a lot of time online making this reservation and was told I would not have to wait at the time of pick up. Not only did the pick up location change 24 hours before moving day, it was changed to a location on the opposite side of town. When I called to ask why, I was able to get it changed back to the other side of town but it was changed to a location where I had to wait outside a window, like a drive thru bank teller. It took over 30 minutes for the staff to make the arrangements and I was told the drop off location would change, too. Having just moved to this area it took me a while to map it out and make the most cost effective arrangements considering mileage, gas and the people waiting to assist me with this move. This is why I did it ahead of time, online with the promise from U-Haul that it would be fast and easy. I can honestly say that in over 20 years of using U-haul, this was the most stressful ill-organized rental ever. Of the seven representatives I spoke to, only one knew what was up. As for the pick up location, I am fairly certain the main purpose of this place is to sell gas, drug paraphernalia and the most offensive condom packages available, not truck rental.Melissa C.
