This guy was a total jerk in Dawson Springs KY. He was trying to do things on his phone. Filling out all paperwork on his phone ...we had movers waiting on us...had to fill out all contracts ... took over an hour .....while my movers were sitting waiting on us. I ask the guy how much longer it would take his answer was extremely rude. He said and I quote, " I am doing the best I can , you don't like it go somewhere else and get a truck ". Are you kidding me ...then he said we had to bring the truck back to him even tho when I called to set it up They said I could return the truck back to Madisonville ky. A terrible experience ... I had lost pretty much everything I owned , my house. My cars , my household stuff was just trying to save what I could from the Dec 10th 2021 tornado... already struggling with so many emotions and then had to deal with this individual. The first problem I had was he wasn't there when it was time to pick it up the day before. I had to cancel and order one for the next day. I had no choice but to get a truck from him because no other place had one available in the size I needed... then I was overcharged. He put in the computer that it had half a tank of gas when it was almost a forth... I was charged an extra $30 because of this. I won't be using U-Haul again unless I have no other choice. I believe I was charged way too much considering I couldn't pick up early in that morning forcing me to have to return it late. Very poor accomodations. I doubt if I use the again due to this money scam trick that was pulled on me.roy F.
It's horrible to be told I'm guaranteed a truck!!! I drive with a friend from Texas to Tennessee, I verified if I would have a truck on the day I was coming and was told â€œyes, the truck comes in tomorrow at 1â€. Get an Uber to the pickup location to be told there isn't a truck. I call your customer service number and the first girl who answered was disgustingly rude and told me she doesn't have to assist me by charging me more for new reservation by making it the same about my regular reservation was for!!!!!!! I didn't ask for a discount!!!! I asked for a truck but to be offered a discount that is the same exact amount of my initial rental is BS. I was talking to someone and swearing and she stated she doesn't have to deal with me and xfer me. Luckily the next person went out the way to make it semi right. The rental agent was quite rude and unwilling to listen. I had to call corporate to get his attention. His attitude did change when he realized I I feed had talked to corporate to make the reservation..kathy P.
I needed a tow dolly I live in madisonville called to rent a dolly but had to drive 30 miles to get it drive back to madisonville used it and could not return it at madisonville but had to take back to where I picked it up so I had to drive 120 miles to use it the equipment was in good condition . The place where I picked it up had issues trying to get the paperwork completed very friendly but it took me 40 mins to get out of there I'm not real happy with experienceROBERT C.

We reserved a 20 foot truck. When U-Haul called they said there wasn't one available for the date we needed, but we could get a 26 foot for the same price. Good deal, but harder to maneuver. Then they told us we had to drive 30 miles out of our way to pick it up, when there are multiple U-Haul locations in the town we live in. Those 30 miles were counted in our total allowable mileage and we ended up having to pay for going over. When we arrived at the pickup location, he told us without checking his computer that he had nothing for us. This was after we had seen the size truck we were supposed to pick up on the lot and after I had called the day before to confirm. He told us the guy who confirmed with me no longer worked there. He also said the truck on the lot had been reserved a month before by someone else. When he finally checked the computer he found that this truck was available and reserved for us! We had ordered a dolly. He said he didn't have one. He still charged us for the dolly so I had to call U-Haul and get that removed. In addition to all this, the place of business was dirty and he and another person smoked constantly while we were there. By the time we left I was gagging on smoke. I would never recommend this location!!Shirley D.

You could make me not have to travel 30 miles out of the way when there was 3 dealers near my house. Had to spend $60 on miles for nothing. Headquarters sent me to 2 locations near me saying I had reservations and they didn't even have any uhauls there available.Bradley D.

No complaints until I was charged the wrong amount I tried to explain what I was seeing in black and white on my copy of the rental agreement but couldn't make the gentleman understand and I think u-haul owes me some money back!

I believe I was overcharged for my 20' rental truck. I was charged a "rental rate" of $39.95 . In addition, however, I was charged a "rental charge" of $79.90. This was not disclosed to me verbally and the rentor said he didn't know where the extra money I was charged was coming from. It just appeared as it seems. This is not right and I feel that it is dishonest. I would like to receive a $79.90 refund toward my credit card account, as the rentor did not discuss this additional fee with me up-front, nor could he explain where the charge was coming from when I returned the truck.
