Great and friendly service. I wish that U-Haul had a smaller sized closed trailer. I did not need that capacity, and while my car can handle that size trailer with no problem, it did affect the fuel economy. Smaller sizes would appeal to those with smaller cars, or electric/plug-in hybrids.Clive C.

It was an extremely NOT customer friendly experience with the app. I arrived, then found the UHAUL quickly. But the app and emails weren't clear about how I would gain access to the uhaul so, until I clicked through the other steps of the uhaul, i thought i might have to cancel the order. Then the lock box was VERY difficult to open and there were no explicit directions for how to open it (pull the lever all the way down to open). Also, about 3 of the numbers i called were out of service or had a very long wait time. Terrible customer service. Would recommend hiring a UX Designer for your app and deleting phone numbers that aren't usable.Erin L.

The attendant that called me the other day was quite curt, and spoke in an inappropriate way to me as a client. I am not her child, and do not deserve to be spoken to the way that I was. They need to improve this part of the service. I made it very clear to the gentleman that served me initially that I may keep the trailer for a few days, to which they said not a problem. I called and left a message regarding keeping it until Thursday and received no response that they needed the trailer for any other particular schedule. In fact, I was told very clearly that they had many trailers and they carry the most inventory in all of U-Haul in this area.SHAWND B.

not sure, I was told I could drop off in Courtice but received an email to drop off in Oshawa .Went to Oshawa , the guy said no so we had to drive to Whitby .I just hope I don't get charged the extra mileage .Moving is so stressful and these added things don't help .Leone L.

You offer numerous locations and advertise that to the customer but you have lack of stock on desired rentals. Making customer drive past 2-3 closer uhaul dealers to find what they are looking for. Then you have to return it back to same location. 40 min drive each way to get a trailer. If your short equipment atleast let the customer return it to their local dealer if it's within a certain amount of kilometers.Stanley O.

My experience with uhaul was a nightmare. I booked a 15' truck and a 26' truck 2 months in advance of my moving date. I even checked in online the week before moving. Two days before moving, I receive a call from the local dealer saying they just happened to notice that they don't have a 26' truck. If the secretary hadn't noticed, I would have found out the day of the move. They had a 20' truck on site they offered to rent to me. If I refused, they would send my order back to head office and I would either be stuck with no truck or if they found one I would have to drive anywhere in Ontario to get it. I accepted the smaller truck. They compensated me with free dolley rental. Big deal! It cost me more doing extra trips with a smaller truck. It's a good thing I rented 2 trucks. Otherwise, I never would have gotten moved on time as we were 2 families moving. Furthermore, I had to return the trucks half full with gas the way I received them. I managed to do that for one truck but the other still had a three quarter tank of gas. They wouldn't refund me $50 for my gas but they would have over charged me if I had returned them under half. When I asked why we don't get and return the trucks full like every other car rental as it would be so easy to just fill up before returning, I was told it was because they wouldn't get paid to fill them up. Sounds like an excuse to cover up mismanagement. If most people are returning them full, they don't need to do it. If they charged extra for those that don't, they can be paid for their work. I asked why I couldn't get the truck I booked 2 months in advance. I was told that with all the people moving out east, there was a shortage of trucks in Ontario because the trucks are going out east and not coming back until they are conveniently rented by easterners moving to Ontario. Smells like mismanagement again! Why can't they charge extra for not returning the truck to its original location like other rental companies do? Then with the extra charge, they can hire drivers to drive the truck back to its original location. It's time they fired the CEO of uhaul and hire someone who knows how to manage a business and value their customers. I was surprised to learn when talking to others that they had their own nightmare story to share about their uhaul experience. Everything they do is good for them, not for the client. If you can rent trucks from a small local company, go for it. Atleast they, would be concerned about their reputation.Peter C.
The phone app for picking up the car did not work. It asked me to take a picture of myself which I did and then it wouldn't go any further. I then took pictures of the front and back of my license as these were also listed on the page (with exclamation marks in triangles) but this didn't help the situation. Luckily the office opened up as I was trying for the third time. The gentleman in the office did it online and was very accommodating. I also sent a chat note to ask for help and got no response. While the location itself was great, the phone process was not. I'm just glad I was picking the truck up during business hours. I don't think I will be using UHAUL for my next truck rental.John B.
