I pulled in and walked to the side of someones house that had a room sectioned off to use an an office. It was locked, during normal business hours with a sign on the door and a number to call. Then the lady who runs it comes and does the business stuff. Was pretty unusual, however the lady was very nice a d the equipment was there and ready as promised. I would use this location again, if need be.

Nothing special about this location. Second rental of van in a few months, and vehicle windows dirty both INSIDE and out; annoying to need to clean at my house so I can drive safely on my journey. Easy to use site, and easy to access; have recommended to others already and I have obviously returned as repeat customer.

Bill was wrong when I picked up the unit. Off by over $120 from the web registration. Returned a day early two hours past the website reserved time and still charged for the additional day. Probably less than2 hrs from the pick up time, have to call them at the front door to get service, long wait to get hooked up.

Previous damage to truck not discussed at time of signing paperwork. Had to go back to office to get agent to take pictures & include on Online contract. This should have been clearly noted before signing of agreement in office so as to alleviate this concern.

This location has consistently charged me more to use a truck for one day than any other uhaul I have ever rented. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after this time, I probably will not ever use them again, let alone recommend them to anyone.

How to turn the dome light off is not very specific. We had trouble after loading the truck. It took my friend and I 25 minutes to get it to turn off.

The woman that runs the Lovers Lane Location in Portage Michigan is awesome, friendly, fast, efficient, everything you need when moving. This is the only place I will go to for a truck rental.

I had reserved a 5x8 enclosed trailer several days ahead of when I would need one, in order to help ensure the equipment was available. The location that I selected to pick up my rental equipment, which was listed as a available pick up spot for this equipment, does not even carry trailers to rent. The location was moved to another location a few miles away. I was never contacted by this location prior to my arrival. I later found out that I should have received a call to confirm the pick up location. Upon my arrival, this location did not even have the equipment that I reserved, an enclosed 5x8 trailer. Instead they had a 6x12 trailer. My tow vehicle is not rated to tow this size of trailer. Aside from being asked to wait while the attended changed into shorts as his long pants were too hot. I was then directed to a third location to pick up the trailer. While helpful, and actually able to rent the equipment I had originally requested, the staff on site did not seem very adept at the software used for rental equipment. Also, when I pointed out that there were (2) running lights on the right side of the trailer that were inoperative, she shrugged it off as "it's ok" as the taillights were working properly. Overall... this could have been a much better experience. I will be needing moving equipment again in the next couple of months and I will certainly be considering other options besides U-Haul.

I have used this location before and I new the routine. But overall pretty average experience that met my basic need. I had to clean windshield (inside, too), door windows (inside too), and all mirrors (bird droppings) before using on my trip. Inside floors were clean and engine maintenance sticker was up to date. Drove very well. It did seem the new Ford 9-foot van had a smaller box height than previous rental because I could not stand up the double-size mattress on edge, and this made for extra work to pack my apartment furniture.

The owner/manager of the Uhaul rental center in Lovers Lane, Portage, Michigan is a very customer-centered person. She is efficient, flexible and accommodating. I highly recommend this Uhaul location.

Usually rental and return is easy. On occasion I've had to wait for someone to show up at the office even though they knew I was coming. New app for checking damages to truck before rental was not working, so I had to take pictures of the whole truck before leaving lot. Interior of cab was dirty as well as the cargo area had to be swept out and dolly reattached to the truck wall. They must not have ever looked at the condition of the entire truck after last rental.

The auto transport I rented was not available when I arrived. I had to wait an hour and a half until it was returned. A 4-5 hr rental turned into an all day job on a Sunday. Was not happy with the delay.

Having already input my information during the on line reservation process, I found it all to be incorrect when I arrived at the pick up location and had to correct all of. The only item that was correct was the vehicle I reserved.

This is the worst place I've ever felt with. I paid 92.00 to rent a truck for 6 hrs. And because I was 5 min late because I had to go on to the internet n fill out a form to drop of that took 20 to do. They charged me another 125. Wtf your business is a fucking joke.

I was double charged and it has not been remedied as of now. I rented a truck from a different location and it shows returned on time, trailer shows a day late. I cant return the trailer a day late without the truck!!!

My friend and I slipped on the ice in front of the location when we arrived; as well as when we left. The parking lot was exceptionally poorly maintained for winter and a safety nightmare. Fortunately, neither one of us was hurt.

Service at the location was prompt and professional. There were no issues with the service at the location, however I was disappointed with the on-line check in process. For some reason, the on line system would not let me check in. Not sure why it didn't work, but when I arrived to pick up the trailer I was taken care of quickly by the staff..

This was a fairly new truck but one of the doors did not fit perfectly so it was very loud during the whole trip. Might want to stick some weather stripping on it - passenger side.

In spite of having to drive across town to get the truck we needed, incoming calls were given priority. Waiting to complete the transaction while call-ins were getting immediate attention. I think they should have been asked to hold or get a call-back after our sale was completed.

Only change I would ask is that the website correct the size limit on each storage unit. The on I originally reserved did NOT fit up 1200 sq ft of apartment space. Otherwise, fast friendly service!!
