Joshua PMajor Inconvenience at Kalamazoo U-Haul My recent U-Haul rental in Kalamazoo was frustrating. I reserved a 24/7 pick-up, but the key wasn't available, causing a 12-hour delay in getting the truck. Additionally, upon returning the vehicle early, there were no staff present, and the drop-off process prevented an early return credit. No compensation was offered for the inconvenience. The truck itself was disappointing. It was an older model with several issues, including a lack of cruise control and a malfunctioning passenger door that created excessive road noise. Newer trucks were visibly available on the lot, so the allocation process seems flawed. Recommendation: If you're looking to rent a U-Haul in Kalamazoo, I recommend considering a different location to avoid a potentially similar experience.
Nathaniel BVan had broken antenna , crack in the windshield and a weird smell and the tire pressure light kept coming on so I stopped and checked and the tire was absolutely fine . Maybe because I booked at the last minute it was all they had , but could have been better , could have been worse , overall 7/10 , U-Haul employees were really nice and helpful!!!
Lisa WWipers did not work and I had to drive through rain and snow. Pricing was not as quoted.
Elaine SIt took two calls to get someone to come out of the building to take my trailer. Once it was taken the person said my receipt would be available in a few minutes. It came TWO days later and my trailer was checked in two days later than when I returned it. The personal at Portage could be more responsive and do what they said they would do on time.

Thomas KI would not recommend this place. And honestly if a higher up from uhaul would come here, they would see how run down this place is. It’s a office run in a house. Gate is always open with storage units. Lady that runs it was never around had to call her to show up. I would much rather go to another location and will recommend that to others.

John JThe U-Haul person wasn't there. we had to wait 20 min for her to arrive on site. 4 other people showed in that time frame waiting too. when she got there she just handed me the keys and paper, circled things with a crayon and said here you go.
SHAWN MHad an appt at 3pm to pick up a truck from Lover’s Lane location in Portage MI. Got there on time and there was a line waiting out the door. No one received a call or notice that the owners weren’t there or that they were running late. I called and owner said they were “very close”. 15-20 min later they showed up. No apology, nothing. Will be using a different location next time we need a U-Haul.

Lin WThe location was incredibly dirty. There was trash everywhere and just crap all over. While the renting equipment part went okay, we will never rent from that location again due to the above. The office was dirty and smelled terrible, the yard was completely trashed, etc. For a business, it should be a little better taken care of.
Rodney DFirst of all, the closest van or truck available to me was many miles away which I had to pay for extra. The woman at the desk when we signed papers seemed to be annoyed to have to explain things to me. The man who gaves us the vehicle either spoke very little English or pretended to, so my questions weren't answered. They weren't friendly by any means but I guess I was not there for customer service. Too bad my area doesn't have many options. When we dropped off the vehicle, the before mentioned man didn't want to get us a receipt nor did he want to look over the vehicle. We insisted on both before leaving and didn't receive the receipt. This is more about the establishment and not u haul itself I guess. What happened to customer service, it's all "All we care about is your money, goodbye". Bad customer service experience! Van needed oil change and was in bad need of a bath in the outside.
Megan BNever received the final bill. No one was available when I returned the trailer about early, about 12:45 PM. Trailer was in acceptable condition, and access to the parking area was good. I called and let the proprietor know that I dropped the trailer.
David TThe uhaul rent on lover's lane has very good rental equipment and has flexible rental lease equipment. Very nice employees that work there and respectful. I would rent there again in the future and renamed them to other people. Thank you Joseph Starks.

Trisha PI brushed the snow off the windshield, and scraped the frost from the mirrors. The guy prepping the trucks saw me do that, and he did that on other trucks. Way to go.
Duane HYour parking lot is definitely tricky to get around with the largest truck.
