Vehicle was dirty and reeked of marijuana. When returning the keys and trying to answer it was dirty the system was going to auto charge me. Before pick up there was no indication that it was a self service. This delayed pick up. Gas was less than indicate upon pick up. Will not return to this location. Unsure if I'd do U-Haul anytime soon.

MATTHEW FThe location and the equipment were excellent, however I had major problems checking the vehicle in and out. I feel like the app could use a rehaul. I had problems with the app and had to call customer service to check in and to check out, not so great when the location is very dark at 10 p.m. The problems? Check-in could not read my ID after uploading multiple times and I had to wait 10-15 minutes to reach an agent to verify multiple times. Also, upon checkout, the app would not let me complete the return and again I had to contact customer service. In the end, I was told to just drop the return key in the lockbox and that the location would figure out the rest and send me a final bill. My recommendation is that if you are going to rent a vehicle, go during the day when help is readily available, I will rent from U-haul again, but not so sure about after hours using the app.

BERYL SMy original pick up location was 5 minutes from my apartment and then changed to 1 hour away at Hayward. I was notified only the day before my pickup date that my equipment was no longer available and even after having to change my plans to accommodate a 2 hour journey just to get my U-Haul to my apartment, I still was charged to fill up the gas tank. Thankful that I was given extra miles but I specifically asked about gas charges because extra miles do not take care of that. This issue was handled extremely poorly by Uhaul. I expected that the inconvenience would have been documented and shared with my drop-off location but they were not helpful there either.

KENDRA CQuick & relevant vehicle was available, only thing i felt rate per mile is high, Though the rental is 20$ mileage cost is much higher, I have driven 70 miles & the cost for that was 110$ +20rental +insurance +tax

Not only did I have to pick up the truck from a different location than I reserved, I also had to drive to 3 separate locations which was a big inconvenience. I probably won't be using uhaul again.

Mark HThe truck’s blower motor is squealing really loudly. I had to listen to it the entire time I was driving, it was terrible. The UHaul website didn’t work, I had to reach out to customer service and speak to 3 reps and a supervisor due to the website gave me a rate of $115 at my preferred drop off city, but the computer would only allow the rep to give me a return city 40 minutes away! The female Reps were great, the male was snippy.

Not happy :( Get that there is small sub print on the van and yes the customer service representative told me about the charges prior to taking on the lease but by that time it was already too late, I was at the location in need of a truck. Now, a few bucks or perhaps up to 20 or 30 dollars I could understand, double the money, feels like a rip off.
BANSI CWe rented the U-Haul truck at the Maaco Collision Repair at 1942 National Ave Hayward, CA 94545. I called the office and Raquel answered the phone. Raquel did not listen to me. She did not explain the check-out process, was quick to direct me to an email that I would receive, and hung up on me 2 times. I called back and asked for the manager or owner - Raquel told me she was alone and I would need to speak with Orlando. So I asked for Orlando’s phone number. She said his number is the number I called. I asked if I could leave him a message to call me. Raquel quickly put me on hold and Orlando took my call. In the beginning of the call he put me on speaker. I explained my frustration and shared my experience with Raquel. I let him know, this is my first time to rent a U-haul truck. I would like to be informed of the rental check-out process, and I wanted to know if the keys that I dropped off were found. Orlando was professional, listened, and answered my questions. Feedback: Please train Raquel on customer service, listening skills, how to properly put someone on hold, how to end a call, and to be nice.

Ricardo AI originally scheduled to pick up at Alcosta restaurant supply in San Leandro where the front desk and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I think they deserve 5 stars. However my location was moved to Oakland and from 10 am to 4pm. This would have been very inconvenient as I was riding my bike and on a tight schedule. The front desk helped me and was able to move me to Hayward by calling Uhaul. The San Leandro staff was not responsible for any of these changes. UHAUL did not provide any communication to me. Another customer before me had the same problem, we did not receive any notice until we arrived at the facility. This is very unprofessional and inconvenient to customers. The actual neighborhood dealers themselves were fine. However UHAUL needs a better system to communicate with customers or else they will lose a lot of people because we are depending on quality communication to be able to handle our needs.

GUSTAV PThe agent doesn't know the business hours where i was supposed to pick up the truck! The place closes at 12 Noon but I was scheduled to pick up the truck at 12:30 - 1:30 PM. I almost missed our move-out date, and almost didn't make it before the Uhaul location closed! i had TO BEG the person in Uhaul to wait for me but he didn't want to wait, so i end up running around like a fool just to make it before they close!! I had to pay Uber just for me to make it before closing. I was only given 20 MINS to make it to the Uhaul location or else i won't be able to get the truck! I would like a REFUND/DISCOUNT for the inconvenience and insult i got!!
Have access to express lanes/ FastTrack with truck rental. Living/moving in the bay area, it's almost essential.

ERLINDA LI have used this location twice. The first time great, second time there was a miscommunication regarding my contract if it was a one way van or an in town. With my original reservation I had an online special. Long story short when I picked up the van it my reservation was switched and then had to pay full price for storage. I contacted the owner of this uhaul business and uhaul customer service. I was frustrated by the mistake made in the system. But the owner got right on the mistake and was able to get the price back to the original reservation. Although I was very disappointed and frustrated, the customer service was helpful and superb! On all ends, MAACO collision repair/ uhaul, Thornton storage, and customer service through uhaul. Thank you for hearing my frustration and giving great customer service!

david kThe person there had never done a uhaul rental before. Could not print out an official rental contract. Had to contact another person on the phone who usually does uhaul and had me talk to them to try to figure out how to fill out the paperwork. Used a cell phone printout obtained from email, not an actual printout of the rental contract. Person at Maaco did not know how to attach a trailer. Person did not have any idea about the wire used to connect the trailer brake lights/turn signals to the vehicle. He could not tell me if they had any kind of adapter or where to get it from. Went to Grimmer location in Fremont to get lights checked and double check trailer installation. Grimmer location did not have the proper electrical connectors and said it would be a 3+ hour wait to have installed. Went to Thornton location to get trailer lights working. Was told they would not be able to help due to heavy workload. Finally able to get trailer lights connected properly after waiting 2.5 hours at the location.
