the automated system is a failure if all people are not trained on it. I had a previous reservation at the same location and received a text informing me that an agent would call. no call and no reservation. Had a crew I paid for a half a day but got no work from. On the morning of my second reservation the clerk had not been trained and even though myself and another customer had both completed the automated requirements (or so I thought) an agent had me go through the whole process over the phone before I could actually leave with the trailer over an hour after my original pickup time. When I returned the trailer, the clerk came out and checked the trailer and told me I could leave. Later I got a text informing my that I need to take a picture of the triler before I left the yard. Poor communication, poor practice, poor results.

AT PICKUP THERE WERE COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS BETWEEN U HAUL AND THE DEALER DELAYING MY WHAT IS TYPICALLY A FAST AND EASY TRANSACTION. U HAUL WORKED IT OUT WITH THE DEALER AND AFTER ABOUT 1/2 HOUR I WAS ON MY WAY. THE DEALERSHIP STAFF WERE KIND AND HELPFUL....THE NEXT MORNING AFTER I LOADED MY VEHICLE ON THE AUTO TRANSPORT AND DEPARTED I EXPERIENCED A NASTY VIBRATION WHICH AFTER CLOSE INSPECTION WAS FOUND TO BE A BADLY MISSHAPEN/WORN TIRE WHICH DIDN'T OCCUR WHEN THE TRANSPORT WAS EMPTY. DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, WE DROVE TO OUR DESTINATION SAFELY AND RETURNED THE TRANSPORT ON MONDAY MORNING. NOT THE BEST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD, BUT REMAIN A DEDICATED U HAUL CUSTOMER AS YOU REALLY RUN A PRETTY TIGHT SHIP. OVERALL, MY SATISFACTION WITH U HAUL IS WELL ABOVE AVERAGE. YOUR U HAUL LOCATION STAFF IS ALWAYS EXCELLENT. SOME OF THE DEALERS MAYBE NOT SO MUCH.

Went to Marios to get the tow dolly. Tried to get one in Chino, it's always something so you can't get anything. Was told we could drop the dolly off in Chino . Was told by Chino it would cost 2 x more for dropping it off there. Will not try to use the chino location any more.

U-Haul service has been declining over the years and this experience has confirmed my fears that U-Haul, not specific people, has become disorganized. I gave 1 star for the nice new truck, and 1 star for a couple people that helped as much as possible. I hope things change because the low bed loading is why we use them, but that isn’t enough anymore. 1. Pickup location was moved to another town. 2. Mileage offered was not even enough to pickup, load, unload, drop off. But I called twice and they gave me a max amount that would work. 3. No counter pickup at new location, U-Haul website was down, no key in lock box. 4. Another customer came in to pick up as we were leaving (30 mins for us to check out) and there were no more trucks at location. I felt sad for them and thought… that easily could have been us instead.

Although its a small parking lot they are trying their best to manage it, so have patience. I was disappointed in the fact that the employees were not trained on the system. ( They are a new dealer I understand) the area field rep had to come out and do our contract, when returning the equipment the next day a different employee didn't know how to check in items, didn't have the equipment. She had to call the 800 number and have me do the check-in manually. I suggest before launching dealers adequate training is provided to the staff, I felt bad for them, they were trying all they could to help, but were never trained they stated.

I had to do it over the phone from the location. The girl helping me was totally lost. It took 45 minutes to get it done. The young mar at the rental place was ok.
