My entire experience was unprofessional from start to finish. The staff showed little regard for my valuable time. While processing my order, they spent time socializing with friends and taking several phone calls, which caused unnecessary delays. There was also no walkthrough or discussion about the condition of the vehicle. Instead, I was essentially told to go out and find the truck myself. At other rental locations, staff typically walk customers to the vehicle or trailer and review everything together, including an inspection before departure. That did not happen here. I eventually located the truck in the back lot, but only after climbing into another truck first and realizing it was the wrong one. Once inside the correct vehicle, the first thing I noticed was that the cab was dirty and reeked of cigarette smoke. I have allergies, so this made the ride especially uncomfortable. There were wrappers, debris, and even the previous renter’s receipt left inside. When I started the truck, I discovered the mileage was incorrect. Either the vehicle had been driven more than recorded or the previous renter reported it inaccurately. It appeared that no staff member had verified this. The gas gauge was also lower than what was listed on the receipt I was given. After arriving at my destination, I found even more garbage, papers, bottles, and general filth in the back of the truck. I had to sweep it out myself before I could load anything. One of my helpers even joked about whether I planned to wash it too. Trucks I have rented elsewhere were always clean and properly maintained. This one clearly was not. I also had to call Maurers twice regarding issues with the truck. In addition to the smoke smell, incorrect mileage, and fuel discrepancy, there were two dollies loose in the back. Maurers claimed they were unaware they were there. Overall, this was a very poor rental experience.

We had a lot of snow the couple days before we rented the truck. The first truck the gave us was plowed in so I went back in and asked for a different one. The snow was still piled up behind it but after working it I got it out. There was also several inches of snow rhat needed cleaned off the truck. It was just disappointing but we got the truck and did what we needed to do.

Dale ANot until I got home and started loading did we notice that the cab over area was full of water and roof leaked somewhere. had to use multiple of my furniture quilts to soak up water but my items still got wet in transport from leaking roof. Shown nothing about the truck was told to follow instructions on the app that I had to install on my phone. Not her fault, just poor on Uhaul end I feel. Was changed to a 26' truck over my reservation of a 15'. Told on phone cost would be the same but it was $100 plus more as insurance for larger truck was more than smaller one....they only made base rent the same and girl had no idea how to over ride. Total BS on company.

WILLIAM LWhen I made the reservation it said it would be $56.00 I picked up the truck and my card was held for $99.00 when I got the truck I found something in it that shouldn't have been the manager was very good with the whole situation but then I called to let them know I might be late and they said that was fine as long as it was returned that day which it was but my card was charged another $35.00 at that time so a $56.00 truck cost me over $140.00 when everything was said and done and it wasn't the best experience with what was found in the vehicle

DEBORAH TThe only item would be the phone app where you are taking photos of the trailer. I would be better to specifically tell that you need to photo the trailer and not your vehicle. I was a bit confused about it and a simple statement would resolve the confusion.

MICHAEL LExtremely disappointed with the customer service experience while trying to rent a U-Haul truck at Maurers Trading Post. We arrived on time with a reservation, but ended up waiting over 45 minutes because the staff prioritized walk-in customers who were there for an in-store promotion. It felt like our time didn't matter. On top of that, the internet wouldn't connect, which just added to the delay - but there didn't seem to be any urgency or effort to resolve it quickly. Renting a U-Haul should be a smooth and timely process. Instead, it was frustrating and poorly managed. Definitely rethink this location.

BRANDON CtHE EQUIPMENT WAS CLEAN HOWEVER The truck's brakes felt bad and the engine light came on. Alos the man I got it from when i went in he was very creepy and gave me creeper vibes He forgot to give me the utility dolly so I had to call and when I opened the truck door and was waiting for him to bring it out he oh look at you all sprawled out when i was just standing on back of truck holding on to the hand rail. Not to mention the last uhaul truck I got from there last year I fell when i returned it because mauer keeps his parking lot where he keeps uphaul a sheet of ice. and it was this time also making it hard to get in and out of the truck and take pictures of them.

AMBER MTruck displayed massive vibrations consistently around 35mph and then again at 65mph. Cargo bay was not swept prior to my rental. I requested a 20ft truck but received a much larger 26ft truck. U-Haul regional office relayed to Maurer’s Trading that I requested a one-way rental which was incorrect. Because of that statement I was not given the 20ft truck as it was reserved for local rentals only. I requested that the pickup and drop off be the same location. Upon arrival when I inquired I was told of the mistake but someone else had reserved the 20ft truck for the following day. Due to the size of the 26’ truck I could not park it near the front door of the location I was delivering to. This caused a major inconvenience and hassle.

Michael BI called this location to inquire about services, I was given information and I did as asked. I called a week before the move, to schedule the pick-up. This is a busy location, without a dedicated U Haul representative, so I was told to go to the website and schedule through there. I scheduled and someone from Maurers Trading Post called me back later that afternoon. He said that they had not gotten email conformation, but that it would probably be there later that evening. I called the day before the move and there was no record of my reservation for the next day. I had gotten a text message to upload my driver's license that day, but there wasn't anything on their end. Kelly from Maurer's got my reservation changed to a different location and on our way there, we saw that Maurer's had a smaller truck on their lot and stopped to get that instead of driving 26 miles, out of our way, to get to the other rental place. They didn't have that truck available, but someone brought back a truck, so it all worked out well in the end.

WILLIAM WI had no problem with mauers. But I had a huge problem at Chippewa U-Haul and storage. Guy at the counter quoted me 3 different prices because he didn’t know what he was doing. Dispatch screwed up my initial reservation and wanted me to pay an extra $350 because dispatch put my reservation as an in town rental when I first reserved it at a one way. Terrible experience with dispatch and Chippewa U-Haul and storage.
