The guy at the shop was very indifferent and unhelpful. It took a bit to realize I could leave the keys with him and walk away, I think he was trying to maybe have me do the self checkout so he didn’t have to do it? I don’t know.

They didn’t know how much the cost would be when I dropped off the vehicle. We discussed whether I should clean some mud off the truck they said they didn’t think it would be an issue. I have yet to receive a receipt yet my credit card has been charged $562.73. This figure is beyond ridiculous. Please contact me to explain. I will be putting a complaint in to my credit card company.

everything went well, the only real issue that came up was I had just renewed my licence and had a temporary licence along with photo ID and the system just couldn't figure that out, whole thing took about 45min when it should have taken 10. The gentleman at the desk was very professional and did everything to try to help. Anyway, lesson learned, don't rent anything with a temp licence

No one was there to provide me with keys and had to wait for them to arrive. Booking was for 12:00 I checked in online ahead of time. Why was no one there to help me when I arrived. I did not get on my way until 12:40. No one who could support was there at drop off either. I also am not sure I was charged appropriately.

Half of my issues was the app, which did not deal with low light conditions at all well and failed to indicate to me that the low light issues were a problem until the end of the process when it was very difficult (and in one case impossible) to make changes. I had to redo the registration process 4 times! The second half of my issue was the organization of the truck hosts. The person at the desk said they didn't have the key and they had to ask some else to drive over (it took 15 minutes for them to arrive, I had to wait outside in the dark for this to happen). When I expressed my incredulity to the person with the key when they arrived, I was met with no compassion or understanding, only a black stare as they gazed at their electronic device. Customer service goes a long way, and I know full well sometimes stuff happens that you can't control. But it helps _a lot_ to express compassion and understanding when that happens. In the end, I drove out 1 hour later than I expected. I would never use this location for a rental again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

The vehicle was so dirty and a bad smell coming from the seats. Also, the caretaker came late to the place, our pick-up time was 2.30 and she came around 3.20 pm.

This was probably the worst experience I have ever had with a company - not just with a rental company, the worst experience with any company. I booked a very basic pick-up truck. I arrived to pick up the truck in Victoria BC at the stated time and I was given a long-distance phone number to call to check in. I called the number and was put on hold. For nearly the next 30 minutes I sat on hold as I was passed from Manitoba, to Alberta, to Surrey BC then back to Alberta. To add insult to injury, I had hired two assistants to help me at $70/hr ($35/hr each) who were just sitting and waiting. Each time a UHAUL agent answered, they said they couldn't help me and put me back on hold. As mentioned, I was transferred back to Alberta from Surrey BC. The Alberta office once again said I had been transferred to the wrong place. However, probably sensing my growing anger, the Alberta agent said she would try to help. Miraculously, she was able to do that. The Alberta agent checked my in and told me she would notify the Victoria agent that I was approved to take the truck. (To give credit where it is due, the Alberta agent - the one I spoke to the second time - seemed very competent.) Unfortunately, the notification never arrived in Victoria. We waited longer, then phoned back, were put on hold once again, then finally sorted it out. Nearly 40 mins had gone by. The matter for which the truck was needed went better than expected and the truck was turned many hours early with only 20 kms of mileage. The is the second issue - UHAUL says that I shorted them by 11 liters of fuel to go those 20 kms. 11 liters - to go 20 kms - are you serious UHAUL? That works out to 55 litres/100km. Wow - that is horrible mileage. Canada EnerGuide rates the fuel consumption for a Silverado King Cab at 12.9 liters/100km (the UHAUL truck was a regular cab so should get better mileage). UHAUL charged me $2.25/l when the price in Victoria was $1.83/l. I took a picture of the gas gauge when I returned the vehicle - it shows that UHAUL misstated the amount of fuel left in the tank... although also stating that I used 11 liters to go 20 kms clearly misstates that fact too. Nine days ago I emailed UHAUL for an explanation on this latter point - I have heard nothing back so far. I am not holding my breath. Totally disappointing experience.

I was charged for items that I did not add when I made the booking. I was not instructed to take photos of the vehicle. The convenience store owners claim that I damaged the vehicle, and so badly that the front bumper needed to be replaced. I used the truck for 1 hr and didn’t not even come remotely close to damaging the vehicle in any way. Now I’m wasting time trying to be reimbursed - I would highly recommend NOT using the Mega Mart location for pick up and drop off as they may try to scam you as well.

The door was locked, no key drop box. Waited five minuet until someone showed up. And ask me to wait so he can call his boss. They talked in unknown language for quite sometime before taking my key.

They actual service from the owners of Mega Mart was very good. The problem was the extremely poor service from the uHaul people who delivered the truck late, did not tell me the truck pickup location changed or communicate with me whatsoever. Frankly despicable and unacceptable.
