MALCOLM BI parked my car in the parking lot in front of the store with the assumption that it would be okay to leave it while using the U-haul. I received a 100$ fine (essentially doubling the cost of the experience for me) for using a "private parking lot". Perhaps I missed an obvious sign (although I deliberately didn't leave my car in the neighboring parking spot because it was explicitly labeled), but it would have been nice to be warned about not parking at what I believe seemed to be an obvious place to leave my car.

TONYA MThere is a flood at the Green Street location in Halifax. I rented a vehicle and the smell of mold and cigarettes inside the vehicle was appalling. The vehicle was filthy inside and had never been cleaned. I had to return it right away as it was unfit to drive. Customer service has been awful. I had to drive it back to the location myself after sitting in it for 3.5 kms. I wasted 2 hours of my time as I had to go and order another vehicle from another location.

JOHANNA CVery poor communication and customer service from this team which surprised me, as I have been impressed with UHaul in the past. They did not set up for a 9am pick up and did not open until 10am, causing unnecessary delays which had a financial impact. The location did not take accountability or even make an apology for their error. She instead blamed UHaul and said that they call people who book before the store opens, and when I said I never got a call, she confirmed that yes they didn't make one to me. I also have major concerns over the billing as I received a receipt for $74.51 but my credit card has been charged $147.37. Be cautious with this location

sanghyeong cYour dispatch system is terrible, I booked my truck well in advance and selected my location for the vehicle pickup @ Maroon Hill location in Middle Sackville as it was the closest location to my home. I was called by a Uhaul rep a few days before my reservation date informing me that a truck could not be provided to me from the maroon hill location and moved my pickup location to Green Street location in Halifax which is 30 km from me (ridiculous). I called after receiving this information I called the Green street location to confirm a few things only to be told once again that they too could not provide my requested truck as the customer that has it extended his booking. Back on the phone again (extremely frustrating and pissed off at this point) I spoke to dispatch again and was told I was to pickup my rental truck from the windmill road location ( a little closer but not the location I wanted) Again back on the phone with the manager of the windmill road location only to be told I was changed back to the green street location(FML) In my opinion I should of had a FREE rental. The management/dispatch system is poor at best and caused me undue stress and anxiety for no reason. Get a grip please
Shawn JThe personnel allowed me to park over night based on spot availability. However the parking lot was worse than an ice rink. I slipped 2 times while returning truck.
SHARJEEL KI showed up to get my truck at 430 and there was nobody there, but their business hours are until 5. The parking lot was a skating rink and there was nothing salted or shovelled in the lot or near the doors/key boxes. After waiting 20 minutes for the online check in to go through I got the truck and it didn’t have the dollies or furniture pads that I requested. I then had to drive 15-20 kilometers to another uhaul location to get Dollie’s and pads, which I had to pay for again. They then informed me that I had to bring the Dollie’s back to that location the next day but I had to bring my truck back to the location where it was picked up (which was still a skating rink). When I went to check back in I was charged $80 for mileage (I moved 2.3km, and only did 2 trips) because I had to drive out to the other location. Overall a horrible experience.

vinith vThe van was rented in February which is typically snowy/icy in Halifax. The tires were summer tires and they were balding. The tires were extremely poor for average winter weather conditions and made driving unsafe. The van did not come with a window scraper or snow brush to get snow off the roof and windows of the vehicle, which seems like another major oversight. The van also had low air in one of its tires when we picked it up. The location was fine, but based on vehicle condition I would not recommend renting from this company to a friend.
Hana HNone of the equipment I rented was in the truck when we went to pick it up using their online rental system. It was a snowy day and there wasn’t a snow brush in the vehicle either, which made it difficult to clean ice off the windshield. There are also no snow tires on the vehicles, which makes the truck quite hazardous to drive.

GOUTHAM RNo window washer fluid. Had to stop and get some because the windshield was filthy, and I couldn't see driving on the highway. Very unsafe.
CHLOE ATruck did not have the mats and items we paid for
Misha MThe property was not plowed, hence we needed to wait for one man (only one available for multiple waiting for pick up) to clear out the snow. This was really slow. The snow on the windscreen and windows of truck also was not cleared, we had to do this ourselves. In the end, we ended up requesting for another truck that seemed to have just been returned so we did not have to wait to clear off the snow. Also, the tires were all season tires which is not the best with a lot of snow on the ground.
VICTOR AThis is not the location’s fault but I find the U-HAUL policy of not starting with a full tank of gas VERY annoying. It is very difficult to get the gas gauge exactly at the random spot on the gauge. In this case, I paid you extra gas to rent the trunk. If I rent a car, it starts full so I return it full, it’s easy. Ridiculous.

Megan JClean the rental after each use. The van I picked up had dirt all over the seats and floors. Also, garbage on the floor and someone’s glasses were on the console. Definitely was not cleaned before I picked up. The business was not open so I had no choice but to use it.

RONALD HWhen I got the Uhaul it was very dirty in back. Some animal shit or mud was there and smelled so bad. I had to sweep the back and put some grabage bags below my stuff.
