The app for booking U-Hauls is incredibly bad. It was a frustrating experience and placed extra stress, time, and burden on us. I would never recommend anyone to use the app. The only saving grace of the experience was the helpful woman at this location.

The location was good but office was chilly. The app was horrendous, however. I gave up after an hour of providing multiple contacts to validate my identity. The staff member at the store could not overcome this problem, opting to create a new order for me instead. She provided excellent service, however, and I’ll be using this location again, just without the app.

It would be helpful to inform the client of the finer details. I was not told that I had to send vid/pics of the vehicle before I dropped the keys in the after hours box. I don't have the option on my phone to do that, therefore, I would have made arangments to save the $20 fee.

Okay look the LOCATION was fine, but the overall experience was such a disaster that I've sworn off U-Haul for good, so thanks for letting users review the service as a whole, not just the location. First, it was my first time using the truck-share and I couldn't find any information anywhere on what to expect. I showed up at the pitch-dark parking lot in the freezing rain and tried to use wifi to connect to figure out how to pick up a truck. No wifi. Walked several blocks until I found some wifi at a Subway that was still open, spent FIFTEEN MINUTES crouching outside in the rain, trying to fill out info and take photos of my license, review the condition of the truck, read through contracts, etc. Was prompted yet again to sign up for services I had previously declined. Shivering and wet the entire time. Then I walked several blocks back to the depot, scrambled around in the dark using my phone as a flashlight trying to find the key lockboxes, which were hidden behind a TRUCK and a garbage can, and tried to open mine using one hand while the other shone my phone at it. Again, all in the freezing rain. Then once I had retrieved the key and we were ready to pick up the couch (nearly half an hour late) I had to drive across a city that was literally all black ice because of the freezing rain. I discovered then that the truck still had summer tires on. All in all one of the worst experiences of my life. Go fuck yourself U-Haul. 0/10 stars.

Your staff is not very knowledgeable. I was initially booked for the wrong date by your staff. Another staff later fixed the mistake and was very helpful. Although I was later charged for things I didn’t want, need or even request, after returning to the store unhappily I was refunded the extra charges. There were charges for dolly rentals, furniture pads, etc that I didn’t want and didn’t see or even know of. There were extra false charges for fuel as well. I’m very dissatisfied with the dishonest and poor service I received. The fact that your company adds on false charges to unsuspecting customers is disgraceful. This is not the first time I have experienced this and I’ll be using a different company in the future. I’m disgusted that I would be quoted one price and later charged for a bunch of random false things without my knowledge. That sounds like fraud to me.

The area was disgusting - garbage, dirt, messy unkept area. There was no lighting. You required additional information from me when I was booking the truck, but didn’t request it until I arrived at the location. It took 25 minutes for me to get the keys to the truck. The verification took too long and what you were requesting from me didn’t need to wait until the last minute. Also - it is not appropriate for you to charge someone who is doing everything themselves the same amount as you would for someone who went in and spoke to a U-Haul representative to rent a vehicle.

Get well maintained your vehicles. The fuel of the Van that we rented was running out faster than usual. They are in bad conditions. Also, I was charged for a cleaning service plus tax. I went today to claim. They told me that 2 Vans were rented and that 1 of them was totally dirty with flowers. We rented the van because we bought 2 mattresses not flowers. The lady there told me that may be she could get me a refund of $20..... I am really really mad. Why only $20 and may be? Check well first before charging who was the one who rented the van to carry flowers. I can prove what I bought. So I told her I want the $35 of cleaning services back.

As the website said, I have already finished the check in process, and I can skip the line to get the key. But at first, they donot have the key when I arrived. Next, when I saw a man put the key on the desk, I said I can have this key, I have finished check in. But she just ignore me and let me go to the end of the lane. They said they need do the process for me, so I have to wait at the end of the line. At the end, they didnot do any process for me, just give me the key on the desk. It waste me about 30 minutes. And any other customer think me a bad guy not follow the rule, not follow the line. I won't choose this location, and also advise my friend be away with this location. Good luck for that lady.

I appreciate the location of this Uhaul venue, HOWEVER, I had booked a 9 foot van at this location because it was within walking distance as I am here without a vehicle. During the check-in process the day before, I discovered I was supposed to pick up said van at a location in Dartmouth, not doable and not convenient and incredibly frustrating. I went to the Green Street location to inquire as to what was going on and was told that they had no control over this since someone had booked a 9 foot van prior to my Saturday pickup. Fortunately, the gal who works there week days was able to secure me a 10ft truck for my move on Saturday the 28th, however when I attended to pick up the vehicle, there was a half hour wait due to the technical difficulties the Uhaul employee was having with the system in trying to check vehicles in and sign vehicles out for people. The gal who works during the week came into help with the backlog, I believe, and thank goodness she did as she was a huge help in helping things move along more smoothly and helping in sorting things out with using her phone and/or someone's iPad. The booking system has got to improve. It is part of why I have been reluctant to use uhaul in the past, and why I will probably look at other options in the future.

Figure out a way on a way way trip to use padding or at least warn people that you are not able to rent blankets on a one way trip.We had no complaints or issues and found the people involved pleasant and helpful. We understood why we couldn't get padding and luckily we managed but it certainly would have been better to have known ahead.

My trip ended in Amherst NS, I was supposed to drop off the truck in Amherst, for I don't know what reason, the drip off location was changed to Sackville NB. What a hassle!

Would not answer their phone when I was trying to confirm that it would be open on the holiday Sunday. Does not show up as a possible drop off on the system used at pick-up office. Very convenient location, though. Saved me a lot of time and wandering around unfamiliar city streets.

you fucked up my order so many times I thought I was at a McDonalds Drive through. The worst service, and did even have the right destination, some location on the other side of the province from where I was headed, and now you want to charge me extra for that. IT's bull shit, the whole situation was especially since I booked over a month in advance.

The location was okay where I picked up the vehicle but the process of renting a U-Haul was absolutely disappointing... a representative from Windmill Road Dartmouth call me at 10 a.m. the day before my reservation to tell me that I could not have the vehicle that I reserved 3 weeks prior and I could not have the time slot that I also reserved three weeks prior... The reason I reserve a 15 foot truck is because I have a very steep driveway that I could not get a bigger truck up they offered me a 26-foot truck which would be no use to me.... it took me taking off 3 hours of work and driving from three different U-Haul locations to finally get a hold of a manager and ended up getting a 20-foot truck for 10 a.m. instead of 7:30 as I requested... and also had to Lug a lot of stuff down to the truck because of this steep driveway grade..... when I try to talk to your representatives over the phone at the Windmill location all they could tell me is that policy and they can't do anything about it... One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a big company I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone else nor will I be in any hurry to use your service again if something is not resolved when I hear back from a manager in 3 business days I did file a complaint the policy of calling somebody in less than 24 hours before they pick up their piece of equipment that they've already put a down payment on and reserved is absolute foolishness and probably one of the worst policies... I have ever heard the Green Street what location was average the experience was absolutely terrible

There was water running out of the store on the floor. Damage to the roof from a fire and it was raining when we arrived. The poor woman working was walking around in a flooded room. She was nice and pleasant given the circumstance.

I tried using my smart phone to check out my vehicle while I was in the parking lot. I don't rmember being notified before starting the on-line process that I needed futher proff of who I am like my passort or a rental agreement. Entering my employer didn't work and I don't carry my passport or rental agreement around with me so I had to stop into the store and wait in line for assistance. I had originally planned to pick the vehicle up after hours. If I had have waited, I would have been stranded because I couln'dt complete the on-line registration without the additional identification. It should be made very clear to people when they make the initial reservation that additional varificaiton is needed for on-line pick ups. When I returned the vehicle it was after hours and the key didn't fit in the key drop-off box. Luckily again, the owner was there outsided of ours so I handed him the key. Had he not been there, I would have had to risk leaving the key outside of the box or in the vehicle and ultimately I would have been leagally responsible if it was lost or stolen. Please fix the drop off so the key faubs fit through the slot.

Booked online, checked in online. On inspection the tires were worn with chunks of rubber out of them. I picked another. At pick up my son was told insurance fee was due, if I wanted it I would have added it to my cart when ordering. My vehicle insurance covers what I'm towed. Difficult process getting refund. We turned in a day early expecting refund but that didn't happen. We booked three days in case we needed it and would never bring back late. We expected refund when returning early. The English link for this survey doesn't work, in Canada I expect French English options but filled the Spanish one out as no other option. This has been a negative experience and if another company is available next move I'll try them.

Advise renters that large U-Haul vehicles cannot go across the MacDonald Bridge to Dartmouth. Cost me $200+ in fines...

Store was closed , literally chains on the door . The folks at pick up confirmed this drop off locale and an online check just prior to my arrival confirmed that the store was open. not so.. I called the main number and the individual I spoke with was quite helpful and allowed to me to drop the trailer there, thus allowing me to resume my other commitments.

we had a 7:30AM pick up so had to do the process through a smartphone. It took 45 minutes, glitched and kept being told to go see a representative eventhough the place was closed (hence being reassigned to the smart phone process) - we had already checked in online the night before so 45 minutes was extremely unreasonable.

This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. The problems and screw-ups are too numerous to comment on. The online system is bullshit and does not work. The website is also not updated. My vehicle was not even there and according to all the various staff I talked to every issue I had is a common one that they have to deal with every day.

The business hours stated on the website did not reflect reality. The store opened 45 minutes late and kept myself and 4 others waiting. The store was supposed to close at 5:00 pm, my return time was 4:00 pm. I returned the truck at 3:30 only to find the store closed. While I was putting my key in the drop box, a family desperate for a truck rental showed up to find the store closed 1-1/2 hours before the stated time. A lost business opportunity in my opinion.

By not overcharging me. I submitted the photo of my odometer online. When I wanted to see that photo, It was not shown and after that they charge with some absurd random kilometer numbers. When I ask for correction instead of providing me with service they make me go in circles with different phone numbers those no one picks up. Only one word for this type of behavior "Thieves"

My pickup address was changed 5 times in 2 days. You didn't have my vehicle there when you finally did settle on a spot and time. I had to wait outside for 45 minutes and was finally offered a different vehicle. I originally booked by phone just two days before. You said it was a guaranteed deal. I booked a vehicle, you took my payment. You failed to provide the vehicle I ordered, you failed to deliver it at the time we agreed on and then FURTHER failed to have it at the time you switched it to and you failed to provide it at the location agreed to on the phone. You wasted 3 hours of my time and failed every contract obligation you made with me EXCEPT for the date. It's almost impressive how progressive you've become in butchering customer service. You're operating at corporate greed levels that are 50 years ahead of your time.

The Uhaul system softwear was very slow and insufficient. The location staff was exellent. They were very patient although the uhaul pos system was glitchy and did nit work properly. I would go back to the location because of tge service. But i would concider not ising uhaul because of the glitchy pos system.

They systematically rob customers for fuel money and U-Haul never cares. Returned the truck with exact same gas, even took pictures before and after but charged me 16$ for fuel and when complained just said computer does that, it’s out of our hand!

The office hours are not convenient . One must use the online app to pick up the rental. The camera on my phone would not work with app. I would suggest a different process for pick up with direct voice contact with a Uhaul rep in the area.
