When I arrived, the vehicle that was assigned to me for my reservation had two men sleeping inside. It was just before 6am and still quite dark. I was retrieving the keys and finalizing the pick up via the mobile app, when I opened the rear door and stumbled upon two men sleeping with their belongings. There was a fair amount of cigarette smoke inside the cargo area. I backed away to a safe distance and asked the men to leave the vehicle so that I could take it and begin my day's moving. That said, you never know what state a person is in when they don't have a home, and another customer retrieving a vehicle might be much more startled or unlikely to continue with the reservation. I would suggest that, if a vehicle is assigned to be picked up early in the morning, that the day before the rear cargo area is locked and an additional lock combination or key is provided in the lockbox to open. This way you can guard against stumbling upon a more serious situation in the early dark hours. Thankfully, in my case, the two men were very apologetic and polite and vacated.

MANUEL SParking sucks. The lady at the counter, albeit very nice, didn't actually check me in. She just insisted I leave the keys on the counter and I'm "all set". Later in the day, Uhaul called me to ask if I returned the truck.
ABDALLAH TI turned in the truck when the drop off location was closed so I just dropped the truck key in the U-Haul drop box, it's not that the personnel was not helpful they just were not open yet when I dropped off the truck.
