JAIME SLock on back door was difficult to unlock and lock. $30 fuel service fee is deceptive. Unless I read the fine print, I was not made aware of this fee. There should be a notification when I pick up the vehicle AND it should be a sticker in the vehicle! There is a sticker to drive slower to save pennies but not to refuel to avoid $30!

The u haul rep at the location that I worked with could not have been more rude and the location is very narrow and not all paved. I will never go back there, you should work to find better franchises.
TODD GIn terms of location to pick up and drop off the van it was very close. It was very confusing when picking up the van as I did not realize there was no one at this location to help. Just key pick up. The van was clean and well maintained and drove well. The only issue was the side sliding door did not always unlock and took several times to open even when all other doors were unlocked and opened even after following the instructions to pull on the handle a couple of times to open and slide back. The other difficulty was using the U-Haul App and the link which did not work when trying to access and provide information. However, given that, Roger was always available to speak on the phone, text and email very quickly. Roger was so very helpful, patient in helping schedule and explain the process, costs etc. I only said not the recommending this location due to the "no contact or staff" as I had never rented a vehicle without a customer service rep at the location. Again, thank heavens Roger was available remotely to help.

Elisha TThis is a self checkout only location, and apparently 50% of customers arrive not knowing / not prepared for the process, which then precipitates a call to the franchisee, who must grudgingly come out and assist. OK, I should have read the text notifying me the location was self checkout, but if half of your customers fail to get the picture maybe there is an opportunity to improve the process / communication.

Muqing LSo, Roger, the guy who manages this UHaul location, was AMAZING!!! I have never had the opportunity to use a totally virtual UHaul rental. I did have to reach out to him a couple of times by phone, but he was soooo patient with me and helpful to me. It was a perfectly seamless experience!!!! I have already recommended it and told my family and friends in the area that this is the place to rent UHaul!!!

Jose EI will never rent a U-Haul from an unmanned location ever again. It was the worst experience I have ever had. There is no reason it should take 45 minutes to get a vehicle and 30 minutes to return it. No one mentioned when I made the reservation online with a live person and this was an unmanned location and that I needed to download an app and spend 45 minutes taking pictures of a vehicle on my personal phone and sharing my personal location so that at some point, you might possibly be able to locate my phone again even after I've returned the vehicle. I will never ever rent a U-Haul from an unman location and possibly not even from a man location again.

Kimberly CThe mobile checking is a good idea, but it's executed poorly. Both the checking and check out were confusing. I think the right tools are there, but it's not explained well. Nobody wants to watch a video. There's enough technology in the world for things to be built that are used intuitively. The check in owner?? Or whoever, was 20 minutes late, and would have been later if we didn't call the 800 number. The vehicle worked as expected. Which is good enough.

JAIME LSite was unmanned and U-Haul app was very confusing and unintuitive. I am a computer engineer by trade and the app is very confusing and did not work properly when I dropped off truck. also, U-haul staff called me the day before I picked up the rental and changed my contract from a local to a one way, even though I told them I was using it locally, they also moved my pickup location from just 1.5 miles from my home to 7 miles. when I returned the truck and spoke with someone to fix drop off issues the contract was changed again from one way back to a local contract, without my permission or informing me, which resulted in extra charges. I will never use an unmanned site ever again and this experience has made me rethink my use of U-Haul in the future.
James BWorst experience ever! Manager is an absolute jerk. This is a truck share location without an actual counter or person. The U-Haul app assigned me a rental and then told me to go to the counter to get the keys. Well there isn’t a counter. Spent forever on hold with U-Haul until they tell me check the truck for a key inside. No key anywhere. They call the location manager who I talk to. Rudest guy ever. Tells me in the most derogatory way possible that the key is in the truck. Search again and no key. He cusses at me, hangs up, shows up at the location, and gets a key out of the interior of a truck that is NOT the one I’m assigned to. Throws the key on the floor and tells me that’s my truck. I show him my reservation is for a different truck but he is too proud and arrogant to admit that U-Haul screwed up and assigned me a vehicle without a key available. It was probably in the return lock box. Anyways he is yelling at me to take the other truck even though I can’t complete my online pick up because the truck doesn’t match my reservation and speeds away. What a total loser and the most unprofessional “manager” I have ever encountered. Will never go back to this location and if you have to deal with the site manager, Roger, because U-Haul screws up I feel sorry for you. Best just to drive to different location and avoid this place like the plague.

Parvaneh MThe return of the trailer was a little confusing, had to make sure it was safe to leave and hoped it wasn’t stolen, no security, only a few cameras It was during open hours but was closed before the stated time, there was no one to check you out. I took pictures just in case.

I was expected to remove the dolly and my car myself. I had no problem backing my car off the dolly because I drove it up there when they hooked it up. Who was going to remove the tow dolly? After being frustrated with situation that I found myself in, I went door knocking on nearby doors for assistance. Finally, a man responded and agreed to help me with two of his employees. They released my car and the tow dolly from the truck. They were my saving Grace. I went to my destination and unloaded the truck. I returned the truck later that evening. I again called the number listed and no one answered. I called U-Hauls 800 numbered and informed them of my drop off and took pictures of the equipment at the location. I even returned the equipment a day earlier than expected. The next day U-Haul calls me looking for the equipment that I had already returned. I explained what took place and that I am waiting for my receipt of clearance. I again called the number at the drop off and a man named Roger tells me that they will check the lock box and I'll have my receipt emailed in about an hour.

APRIL BRoger the owner was so nice, helpful & knowledgeable. Thank you Roger. Our circumstances for needing the car hauler & truck weren’t the what we’d hoped for on a mini vacation but you made it much easier in the end.

Cynthia LFranchisee should make sure customers understand that the pickup location (a dirt lot next to a highway) is not attended. Rather, the customer is expected to do entire hookup by himself or herself, even if inexperienced. I called and requested assistance, so somebody did come over at my request from their physical office (wherever that is). Then the somebody informed me that he could not physically help us with the hookup for liability reasons. This was memorable, because I am a lawyer and would have thought the company would want to make sure their equipment was being prepared/used correctly before being taken out onto the road. The somebody who came to the site seemed irritated about having to come. This could explain why he answered discourteously to my foreign-born wife who politely tried to ask him a question about the equipment in her limited English. My wife is a good-natured foreign-born US citizen who has never been in the US illegally for even a single second. She immigrated lawfully. She is the mother of a TX National Guard infantry veteran, and wife of a Navy veteran of Iraq and submarines. I will never return to this Uhaul location.

Narce SThe truck I was assigned had a cracked windshield and several dents. It sounded weird when I drove it. The gas tank was not on full when I picked it up. The location is odd. It’s a strip of U-Haul trucks in the same lot as a moving company. It’s a confusing set up. If this was my first truck rental I wouldn’t use U-Haul again. Very disappointing experience. The one thing that got 5/5 stars was the representative I spoke to on the phone. He provided great customer service before renting the truck.

I called the posted number, and we were able to pick the truck up no problem. Great clean truck. Sad we couldn’t get a furniture dolly, but we weren’t charged for it when it wasn’t available.

Sabrina GI recently rented a truck for a few hours and I wanted to inform y’all of the unsafe condition that it is in. The passenger side mirror is locked into an angle that is pointed at the side of the vehicle which does not allow for any view to the right side of the vehicle. This is incredibly dangerous and could cause serious injury to person and/or property. That vehicle was in no condition to be rented out when I was given the keys and it absolutely should not be rented out to anyone else until this is resolved. I was very displeased by this experience and I do not feel safe renting a U-haul in the future or encountering them on the road if this is the condition they are being kept in.

Conner HI usually love using uhual and this was my first time using a self service. The app was not working so I was unable to get my truck, the first truck had no key, the 2nd truck was locked, finally got a 3rd truck that was super difficult to get out since it was parked on a hill. I lost 30 minutes of movers trying to get the truck. I do appreciate how easy it was to get someone in the phone but the process did take awhile.

Jesus EI had to travel to two locations to pick up my rentals. This location had the trailer needed to move to my destination that was further away from my home than the pickup location that was closer to my house. Once both rentals were picked up i passed a nearby U-Haul office that had both the vehicle and trailer which didn't make sense why i was sent further away when one spot could of done both rentals.
