I had a lot difficulty picking up the uhaul rental, but once I got to the S 6th St location the rest of my experience was pretty. The uhaul attendant was great. My only complaint is that the vehicles are not gassed up when you pick them up. I don't think you should have to pick up a rental truck and immediately have to pay for gas. It's an inconvenient and costly process for the renter.

The cabin of the van was quite dirty, cigarette ash was visible and it smelled like it. The check-in and check out process is simply awful. It takes 15 minutes! It should take no more than 5. The app is slow, uploading photos is slow and requires more clicks than necessary. Take a look at the Zipcar check in process and optmize yours. I have used Uhaul several times, why isn't my drivers license stored? I shouldn't have to upload it and wait for approval every time.

Less vehicles for easier access, dedicated staff for retrieving and preparing vehicles for rental. Separately the app forced me to re enter all Of my reservation detail after I spent time checking in. App is glitchy as well.

The staff at this location really tries hard to accommodate. And they do! Vehicles function great! Pick up and drop off’s of trucks are smooth and hassle free. I really like this location because all of the men here are super professional and they problem solve extremely well. They make it nice, quick and easy to rent their vehicles. Thanks!

This whole experience was terrible. The van was extremely dirty and the windshield was so smudged, I couldn’t see through it. The back door didn’t close completely and the right blinker didn’t work. The questionnaire upon returning asked if the van needed cleaning and so I checked, yes. Then it charged me $25! The guy I rented the van from was extremely unhappy and angry and very unpleasant. This whole experience was terrible.

Fix your app! I got stuck multiple times submitting pictures, had to call support that sent me a link to a webpage to get the process completed. It was super cold and windy on the waterfront and having to deal with your bugs was a real pain in the butt. Also, inflate your van tires!

Regarding my previous rent, I am still waiting to receive $160 that was taking from my bank account for an insurance I never asked for. For this rental, the truck hasn’t been cleaned: papers everywhere both in the cabin and the back space. Also, the driver’s door would not close properly unless closing it very hard. Not good. Last but not least, this location employs people that are like sleeping attitude asking dumb questions while everything is already in the Uhaul system. It is certainly not the first time that I have a bad experience at this location with employees. Uhaul should do something about it.

I returned the truck at 2:45pm when I pick it up at 3pm the prior day, but they recorded it as returned at 6pm which allowed them to charge me an extra day. Not a very honest practice

The system was down so despite showing up before my reservation we were not able to leave and get the keys until over 30 minutes later. When we got the van there was the last persons garbage in it. The van was also blocked in so we had to move carefully get it out of the parking lot. There was also barely any gas in the vehicle. 1/4 tank is not enough with the consumption needs of these vehicles. The workers also were not very helpful in getting the check in and check out complete.

Before the customer service here was awesome, friendly, and you would ask guestion and there was an old man (he passed)and he would walk you to your truck..now the new mens they have working there just brush you off with attitude (if you don't want to work don't work) I ask which is my truck and the man said look for the number outside..I told him you have alot of trucks and he said it's outside finds it with the number on the key..so disappointed compare to the Spanish mens they had before...

I was told by the staff at Pittsfield that U-Haul would give me a location for drop off in Brooklyn, and I was given a number to call. I called the number to get the drop off address and was on hold for 30 plus minutes and the call would either be dropped of an option to leave a message was given. I called back same. Then I called the other 800 number and after hold of 15 plus minutes someone finally told me they would check if this location was okay. The call was put through to a hold and finally someone I had to explain everything again to, who then said I had to call the other number again. I explained that it put me on hold and then dropped or waited for message. They said it was the only way. Finally I simply went this this location (after 2 plus hours of hold and run-a-round) and I dropped it off. The worker was gruff, unhelpful and would not give his name for me to write an email saying who I had dropped the vehicle off with. I called and spoke to Cathy (Kathy?) and she made note of my drop off apologizing for the insanity of this red tape to drop off a U-Haul, saying she would mark it dropped off in the notes and that I should be good. Next day I got a phone call that the U-Haul was late and where was it? I explained. It was not until the following day that I was told my U-Haul was dropped and my extra day charges would be removed. This was single handedly te WORSTE UHAUL experience in my life.

I’ve rented from this location before and it’s never been great but it’s never been this bad. The truck I picked up was at just less than 1/8 of a tank which I didn’t notice immediately so we had to stop for gas ASAP. I’ve always picked up relatively full trucks before so this was a nasty surprise. The drivers side mirror was constantly drooping. I would adjust it and keep looking out to see pavement only because it had drooped again. I ended up driving with the window down to continuously adjust it. Luckily it wasn’t a long drive but this is super unsafe when there’s no back view. The door was also super difficult to close fully. I would pull quite hard and every time the door open light would come on. So open again and SLAM until it worked. Not crazy but The man who got me the keys in the morning 8/4/2024 at around 9:30am was deeply and profoundly unhelpful and slow. Like nothing I’ve ever seen. Luckily not a danger.

There was trash in my uhaul from a previous user and the truck itself was pretty beat-up. It was extremely low on gas so I had to go out of my way as soon as I got the truck to get gas, adding mileage to my bill that would otherwise have been unnecessary. When I asked the attendant about switching trucks, he led me in circles for over an hour, and ultimately I left with the original truck. I've had many seamless experiences with Uhaul over the years, but this was frustrating!

The UHaul van I rented was clean and fully functional, which I greatly appreciated. This rental pick up location was *extremely* slow to process orders, get people keys, and move vans/trucks so that others could access theirs. The man helping us, Jesus, was way too slow. It's unclear to me why I used an entire mobile check in process just to wait nearly 45 minutes to actually get keys and drive away. Too, the rental van was given with approximately 1/8 tank of gas - I would expect it to be at least a little more full so I can actually get to my destination without concern or further delay.

Worst experience with U-Haul that I’ve ever had. Actually, one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in my entire life. Will never rent from U-Haul again, this was the worst and most inconvenient time killing experience ever. Made the moving process even less enjoyable than it already was, woul never recommend this location to a friend, ever.

Truck had an engine light on and 2 holes in the roof. I drove the truck 9 miles and was charged for four gallons of gas. Looking elsewhere next time I rent a truck.

Make sure the vehicle is returned,as it was, before it left the location. In my recent rental a dirty, gasless, document lacking van was released to me. Now I can't get reimbursed for the 40.00 I returned the Van with. However, your policy is charging marked-up gasoline charges when a van is returned with less fuel than before leaving the location. I will await a response to the several folks at UHaul I brought this matter to their attention. My employer has a contract with your entity and I made her aware of the unfair issue I find myself in with U Haul. Proof of my grievance was submitted to U Haul's unidentified office via cell fone photos. Thank you for reviewing this email.

I was charged for a bunch of things I didn’t use, I had to come back to get the dolly and blankets that I had asked for at first, no one was there when they opened (I had to wait 30 minutes), though there were 10 foot trucks I had to rent a 15 foot truck because the employee at the time couldn’t understand me.

Van was not available at reserved time. Employees were unapologetic and inattentive to our timely needs. One particular employee was asked to use restroom due to my wife being pregnant and was dismissive. Van was disgusting. Would never rent from this location nor recommend. I’d consider another company for our needs. Staff needs training on sense of urgency and customer service immediately!!!
