I drove between 70 and 80 miles. They charged me for over 130 miles. When I brought everything back and mentioned this he said "well do you have proof of the odometer before you left?" - I didn't realize I would need to do that but I will never again rent from a Uhaul and be scammed this way. I also was unable to upload any of the photos and had to take them all on my phone to ensure I don't get additionally charged for damage that I didn't do. This place was a complete scam.

It was tricky to maneuver and park the trailer here, as it is a lot on the side of a gas station full of other rentals. The ground also has a slight slope, so when I uncoupled the trailer, it rolled several feet to the curb and ended up uncomfortably close to portable bathrooms, where I had to leave it since no one was around to help with repositioning. Also, as the lot is unsecured and the trailer is unlocked, what prevents someone from taking the trailer and/or its contents (furniture pads)?

The man running it was a gentleman and actually took care of the situation, but whoever rented the truck before me left it dirty, I found .22lr bullets all over the driver cab and the last couple lied about the mileage and no one checked to make sure the mileage was correct and I was almost charged for 140 miles I didn’t use. $350.00 for 117 miles? Are you fucking serious….

Warn customers that they will need the Uhaul app to return the rental. The gas station attendant couldn’t help at all, most likely because it was Sunday.

The staff were really great at the location but there was water in the back of the truck they looked like it was coming from the roof and rain. The heat didn’t work for most of the trip. It kicked in for the last 30 minutes of the 4 hours we had them.

I am a frequent renter of UHaul equipment and even rented from this location in the past. I made the reservation online and times I've even uploaded my driver's license photo to make the process faster when I pick up the equipment. However, this time it was very frustrating!! I was required to download an app from my phone and register with UHaul in order to complete the process. I REFUSE to have apps on my phone! I work in Information Security and know that apps are nothing more than information grabbing programs. Someone not familiar with apps would have a difficult time during the rental process. I finally got through the process and then had to take photos and submit using the app again. Again, adding 15 minutes to my return time. I deleted the app after the return and WILL NOT rent again if I MUST use the app. I'm under the impression it was this particular rental place and I will not use again (even though the gentleman was patient and helpful). I will use a bigger store and if I cannot use the old fashion way of renting; I will find another rental company. NOT EVERYONE USES APPS!!!

25 minutes to check the vehicle back in uploaded pictures and it wouldn’t finish then cut out. Rented a few times before no issues just not with the digital process. Bad service connection at this station, went inside and he said I just need to wait. So poor

Being forced to download and use your app was obnoxious. You should be able to maintain and inspect your own equipment. I'm tired. I don't want to wait for a download in spotty reception and take a dozen photos of your stuff.

The enclosed trailer was dirty on the inside of the bed. The guy at the U-Haul place did not know how to hook up the trailer and didn’t have the tools. my brother have to have a tool So we used our own. the paperwork was a mess and took forever, even though I booked online he told us to return it in Berlin, Maryland and they charged six dollars for returning it into the wrong spot This is not a difficult transaction. We just needed a enclosed trailer for a day It was the worst experience I’ve ever ever had at U-Haul If you have an operator taken care of a facility, they should definitely be trained on how to hook up the trailer and they should have the proper tools and the paperwork should be in order When we turned the truck in after using it, the paperwork wasn’t there so we got charged again. The second operator was good, but he did not even have the phone number for U-Haul for us to call about the overcharge he said to google it Pathetic experience overall. Zero out of five

The person who is in charge of the UHAUL section of the gas station was not very helpful, after asking several times for assistance in parking the trailer (which was attached to a 26' truck) they did not offer help and just kept telling me it was very easy. After several frustrated attempts and a short yelling outburst from myself (very out of character, at wits end after a taxing 15 hour trip and poor travel conditions) the attendant finally relented and parked the trailer (and it took him 15 minutes to do it himself). Def wont come back to this location if I can help it.

We were sent to Mt Airy Exxon because our original location had no record of our registration. It took us two hours for you to sort that out. So you owe us $50 for that FUBAR. The Exxon attendant had no record of our trailer, so he gave us the only trailer he had. He did not log that trailer into your system. So when we arrived at Portsmouth to drop it off, they had no record of it. They had to hold us up and and we had to wait until the trailer error was corrected and put into the system. This was another 30 minutes of our time.

We had to use the app to return to this location. The app was a horrible experience - it took over 30 min to check out using the app bc it kept bringing us back to some sort of home screen and wouldn't continue the process. If the app is the direction of uhaul, I will not be using uhaul again.

There is always a problem with this location. Took over a half of hour to pick up the truck, clerk was clueless. The app is horrible, I expect more from U-Haul. Paid for movers, who were fantastic, but they were waiting while U-Haul tried to figure out how to get me the truck. The return process was even worse.

The truck was awful - the AC did not work, the interior was shabby, the handling was terrible. I can't blame the location for the fact the truck was so bad, but we did find a pair of glasses and an old invoice in the cabin that ovbviously were from previous users. I don't know how much is the location's fault but the truck was not in good condition and I was very unhappy with it.

Did not get my receipt in email. Truck was just a little dirty on the floors in the cab and truck bed but otherwise was clean. The air fan only worked on the lowest 2 settings but everything else was working fine.

Mr. Andy at the Mt. Airy Exxon, 4400 Mill Bottom Rd station, was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable in providing me with all the information I needed to secure the equipment. The transaction went smoothly, and I would highly recommend reaching out to Mr. Andy for any service they require from U-Haul. I am exceptionally grateful to Mr. Andy and would use this facility again for my future needs and will recomman others to do the same.

To return the vehicle forced me to use the app which doesn't work well. Poor internet service at location. Passenger side mirror was very loose causing it to be useless. After using U-haul for years, I will try very hard never to use them again. Terrible experience.

The truck was dirty, the customer service was ice cold, the initial quote was $94; after I returned from my 4 hour trip-108 miles, I was charged $190 + $23 in gas. Doesn’t seem appropriate. Additionally, rain came while I was on my trip and I attempted to use the vehicle’s wipers- they were completely unserviceable.

People always make the difference. The manager on duty today (August 14, 2023) was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend this ExxonMobil station because this gentleman works here and has a high standard of excellence.

Don’t allow for mobile pickup if the place doesn’t do mobile pickup. Reserved the U-Haul for 8 couldn’t get it till 9 because of this. Pretty stupid if you all not to know what services your dealers offer

Have the website ask for all the information up front instead of arbitrarily waiting to ask for driver info after I click the check-in button in an email. At the pickup location it was difficult to back the towing vehicle up to the trailer because of the trucks that were parked across from it. When returning I quickly gave up trying to back it in and resorted to pulling it into the parking space by hand. The man at the counter seemed to be stuck for a while just waiting for his tablet to work. There didn't appear to be any way on the website to switch to a different drop off location without starting over completely. The pickup and dropoff locations had separate edit buttons next to them, but they both were for the pickup location.

The parking situation was absolutely terrible. The people returning trucks can’t drive so they took up multiple spaces leaving it extremely difficult to park and return our truck. I’m also frustrated and disappointed with the app. My papers clearly stated we could return anywhere and the folks at the pick up location were helpful and helped with that because we didn’t know where the closest spot was. When we arrived at DDM to drop off, the app the populates and says we have to drop off at the Exxon now. Which is an additional 20 minutes in the opposite direction thanks to traffic and another $20 in expenses. Then we arrive and no one has policed or organized the parking situation. I get it, not a ton of folks know how to drive larger vehicles well, but the trucks should be parked up by whoever works at that spot so six trucks aren’t taking up 13 spots, leaving next to nowhere to return a 15 footer.

Had an early check in and there was no truck key in the lock box. Had to wait an hour for the location to open but once I went inside found out they were open the whole time. The customer service at the location was bad as well from pick to drop off.
