The facility is nearly always closed, has no assistance, and you are completely on your own to do anything. Returning this truck was ridiculous. Your 800 number hung up on me several times and when I called at 3:30pm to change my return location to Munster Stor All (as the employee at the renting dealer in Schererville told me to do), your call center employee told me that the truck was returned and that all I had to do was drop my keys in the box. I confirmed that I was to drop my keys in the box now and he said yes. So I did. 4 hours later, my truck still showed as active. I drove back to the facility and manually returned my truck through the link in the e-mail as it now showed Munster Stor All as the return facility. Earlier it still showed Schererville. Though without the keys, I could not take a picture of the odometer. I knew we had only done 36 miles, so I input the contract miles plus 36 as the correct return mileage. I then had to just submit a picture of the truck since I had no keys. Terrible return process and service, and I will never rent a truck from UHaul again. I fought to talk to someone for longer then I actually used the truck!

The online check in process is unforgiving if you make a mistake or miss a box - you have to start the process all over. Wait time is understandable given Covid19. The staff person at the location was not pleasant - got a lecture. More importantly, she was not wearing a mask. I was - you may not have input over these independent locations. However, given current CDC guidelines, proper protocol is important whether you agree with them or not. Sorry. Just being honest. I have to recommend the location because the premises were really clean as was the van. Service over the phone was very nice.

With the $29 insurance cost, it was too expensive. 65 miles instead of 50, because we missed an exit. $126 too expensive for a quick jaunt from Munster, Indiana to Chicago and back. Great service, however. But this should have been under $100. Won't ever purchase insurance again.

I specifically requested a cargo van and went thru the process to rent it. Then it would not start. It was a brand new van and the battery was dead. I had to then switch over to a ten foot truck. I was not happy about having to drive that to my location. I had reserved The cargo van a Month well in advance. Did not have time to drive to another location. To get another cargo van.

They asked me to pick up the truck at the location not where I reserved and even asked me to go to the other location (20 mins away) to pick the car dolly!

We had asked for a dozen pads and they only had 6 pads and I had some damage in the move. The clerk was nice and they had the equipment but we were charged for the dozen pads they didn't have.

The only issue is I was unable to use the mobile app to pick up the truck. When I tried it said that the GPS showed I was at the wrong location. I had to go inside and have the person working assist me. I was at the right place. Had they been closed I would not have been able to get the truck.

This wasn't the location that I set up to pick the truck up at. I live 1 mile from the Schererville, IN location and that's where I wanted to pick it up at. Munster location was not as convenient.

We were charged more that what the bill says in our actual bank account by .81 I don't understand this. Also, the bed of the truck was dirty and should have been swept. I swept it before putting out things in it.

Seemed rude and bothered that I did the order on my phone. Made a big deal about having the van and that if they weren't open I wouldn't have been able to pick it up. I live less than a mile away. I saw online there was a van close so I booked it and walked over. I was still a paying customer and just felt I was a “burden” by doing it the way I did.

Regular vehicle supplies should be inside the uhaul. Customers should not have to pay for supplies that may be needed during travel.

The day I had to pick it up, pick up location and drop off location all got changed and then your trying to get me to pay extra for 7 miles over the limit.

Maintain the truck. For example, The passenger's side door rattled at any speed over 35mph. The driver's side door rattled over 65mph.

The van I rented smelled like cat litter. It needed to be better maintained. I had to spray the interior so my items did not smell like cat litter. The gas gauge was at 7/8 full, but I had to return the vehicle at full. I would not use this location again for a truck rental

Took about 40 minutes to check in. Was told I was "lucky" to have a rental this weekend as they were very busy with rentals and that the van I was getting was the only one available. When I opened van the door to get in I was STUNNED by the horrible smell coming from inside. I figured maybe it was just closed up for a while so I rolled down the windows and went home. By the time I got home I was thinking this van smells like a petting zoo. The odor was terrible! Needless to say, when I opened the back doors there was dirt and sand on the floor, pieces of hay, and animal hair/fur. I called and complained and got an apology from the office. Was told to call the owner on Monday, which I did, but was told there was nothing he could do. He suggested I call customer service. I feel like I have wasted enough time and energy on this company. After a day of manure smell, attempting to clean the van myself prior to putting belongings in it, my kids allergies off the chart, and this owner telling me theres nothing I he can do, Im done with them. Its unfortunate that in my area Uhaul is pretty much the only moving company available. I may be forced to use them in the future, but not before I exhaust all other options.
