I used this company to get a U-Haul and did not expect the experience I received. I expected to purchase a clean 10’ Box Truck with all its proper amenities. The first bad experience started when I met with Elliot’s little brother and he withheld information about the Box Truck itself. The key ring had a key to a lock with no lock on the truck, so I took it the lock had to be in the glove box or the cabin. This Box Truck was dirty, mirrors had bird poop, and maybe behind on a tune up. The truck’s cabin was really filthy and had a stench so bad I had to drive with the windows down. Or, sacrifice passing out for that luxury smelly A/C. But, still no lock. One thing I can say for sure, the Box Truck did not eat up gas, but had a mean jerk as you slowed down to stop. I called Elliot’s little brother to inform him about the missing lock and why didn’t he inform me, he laughed. Literally, laughed at me over the phone. He did not apologize, but told me how the lock was cut while a different customer had the Box Truck and the company (U-Haul) would not replace the lock. The return was no better, I met Elliot! Better outcome, right? Nope, he was worse than his little brother. He lied to my face after a talk about past customer’s experience with not filling up the truck or at least bringing it back to the point it was received at, this is the gas I’m referring to. And, about me receiving some of my funds back after putting extra gas and using 65 out of the 80 miles I paid for. Instead, Elliot decided to charge me $30.02! What a refund! I spent a total of $253.94 based on the total charge after adding an extra day. When I looked over my receipt, I noticed the total amount charged after my use of the Box Truck was $231.07. I still believe there is a dilemma with my receipt on the account of how much I paid and then the charged amount given. I did not even want the coverage/insurance in the beginning, I said no.

The vehicle was dirty inside and smelled of urine. I reserved a furniture dolly but it was not available. I was also a reduced daily rental of $10/ day but was charged the regular $10.95 rate.

The only thing I found a little misleading. Is the whole rent and reserve everything online. I wondered if there was a safety box or somehow another able to get the key myself and go from there. although I understand that literally that wouldn't be smart. Other than that I mean it was smooth transition and I'm definitely renting from there again Mystery Shop in Oxnard on South A street
