I initially made my reservation with this location and they were very helpful, however upon drop off I found them unfriendly a bit Kurt and not very communicative.Douglas M.
They didn't give me the truck with a full tank of gas. When I returned it with a quarter of a tank more then a got, the u-haul representative said to bad. They should provide a full tank so you just give it to them back that way and you know it's all fair. This was I lost approximately thirty dollars in gas and no refund or credit. The first thing to do is actually be prepared before you promise your customers that their equipment will be ready and waiting with the vehicle when they arrive. We ordered an appliance dolly and 1/2-dozen furniture pads. Neither item was on the van when we arrived to pick it up. Since there was no one around who knew what was going on, I had to walk over to the back of the building, grab a dolly, lug it over to the van, and hoist it in there myself. As for furniture padsâ€”there were no furniture pads, but we got charged for them anyway. When we returned the van, the idiot who runs the gas station actually had the gall to ask â€œwhere are furniture padsâ€? Ummm, I dunno. You tell me. He also wouldn't let me leave until I'd swept out the back of the van, even though it wasn't any dirtier than it had been when we picked it up. All we did was pick up a refrigerator and slide it in the back of the van. We'd done nothing to dirty it up. A ridiculous, inconsiderate waste of our time. Finally, we got an alert on our credit card that an additional $10.90 had been charged to our account, but have still not received an answer on what this charge was for. My experiences with UHaul over the years have generally been positive, but I would avoid this particular location like the plagueâ€”unless you like doing their jobs for them, or being charged for items you don't receive.Joshua O.

Excellent customer service and fast pickup (less than 10 minutes). Vehicle was newer and in excellent shape and clean. Drop off was done in about 20 minutes. Gas prices below average so reasonable to tank vehicle up for return. Hundreds less than Enterprise van rental. Will use this outlet again and recommend to others.RAYMONDJ K.

We were supposed to pick up in Poughkeepsie. However, we had to go 37 miles to Brewster, NY. We were supposed to have a hand truck but they gave us an appliance dolly. Once we finally finished getting the truck we then had to go to another place to get the trailer!Donald B.

Quicker check out service. I filled everything out on line and my brother still waited more than 30mins to check out, even after I put him down as the person picking up, just because I was listed as the person renting it. Why have a location for a driver if the contract needs to be in the drivers name. I did however misread my contract and thought I rented for 24 hours and only rented for 4 hours, so I do apologize for being angry and yelling at the gentleman during drop off.ANTONIO F.

The guy there was really nice, so this rating should not reflect him. The problem is he is the only person working in a small gas station so he has to help customers AND do uhaul rentals and returns. It took me 2 hours to pick up my rental and I didn't specify this location in the first place. My order was switched to it.DOUGLAS K.

This location was fine.. I had a horrible experience where I originally booked my uhaul truck at the 12 main st location in Brewster.. I ordered a truck and when I arrived to the location at 7am the truck was not even available.. I had to book a whole different reservation at the new location.. it was a horrible experienceSean D.

I'm not sure who's at fault here, but it ultimately ended up being my problem. The sales agent was very very nice and super helpful. He was pleasant to deal with from beginning to end. I would return here because of how easy it was dealing with him. Unfortunately, the van was dirty inside and because I was short on time, I neglected to report it and left the U-Haul site. When I returned the van, I was told that If I didn't clean out the inside, I'd likely be hit with a cleaning charge. My move contained nothing to dirty the inside of the van at all, so I didn't contribute to the dirt in the rear cabin. I don't know if the person before me returned the van and did not clean it and the sales agent did not check or not. I'm also not sure if it's the sales agent's job to clean the van if it's left dirty. Either way, I had to clean the inside of the van because the perception was that I returned it dirty - this is because I did not report it initially. No big issue, but just something I thought to mention.LEONARD B.

The check-in system is flawed. I was unable to upload my driver's license and the sales person had to do it manually. No fault of his own, but the whole process took way too long and I was over 30 minutes late for an appointment with the cargo van. I appreciate his help and he did his best to remedy the issue, but the automated process bed fixing.Robert P.

can't think of anything. SO much BETTER than the self service place I used last time. The self service was unnecessarily long, difficult and confusing. When we needed help, the phone was never answered. I will never use self service again. Mystik Gas, on the other hand was helpful, clear and easy.Adrienne F.

I was a little surprised that a brand new truck (227 m) would have mechanical issues. The transmission was grinding in lower gears, but once we got to highway speeds it ran like a champ. Anyone who spent 1 minute in the driver's seat with that truck in gear should have heard it. I drive it more than 500 m with no problems, but I would say UH QC could use a review if they are sending out new vehicles with driveline issues.Gerald M.

It took me four hours to pick up this 5x8 trailer. The guy working at this small gas station had computer problems, the owner wasn't there, the blankets they gave me were wet and the there was no way to attach the safety chains to my hitch. I did everything myself with no help whatsoever and UHaul sent a tow truck from Connecticut to the gas station to attach new safety chains. It was a terrible experience and UHaul should not do business with this gas station. While waiting another man picking up a van had many of the same problems.Michael M.

Original drop off was to be 566 rt 6 Mahopac NY. Although speaking with them on the phone about drop off time and hours of operation. Being told they were open till 2pm, Today 1/23 drop off day, we not only could not find the destination but also could not get any one on the phone, it was around 1pm. After driving around and continuously calling with no success the wonderful gentleman at the Brewster location, accepted our uhaul drop off. He went above and beyond for us after such an exhausting move and experience with the Mahopac site. We not only had to incur mileage and extra gas costs because the Mahopac site were not open at the hours that was stated and posted. 2 Hours wasted! Truly disappointing Also why is the Mahopac destination not clearly marked? Does it actually exist? When we goggled it to try to figure out where it was... it comes up as an office business not a auto/ Uhaul destination. Any way, Feel free to reach out this was truly disappointing! But again the Brewster location was superb! So thank you!Susan L.

Guy was not really friendly. I told him I filled the gas tank and he still charged me with out my consent. Also was telling me that if I did not fold them blankets I would be charged 35 dollars extra. The blankets were very dirty I guess from previous users. So if he is asking me to fold them it means that it was not disinfected which it is wrong due to COVID. The guy was not very friendly and also did not speak English very well so it was hard to understand.JORGEA C.

Dirty, non-sanitized(during a global pandemic), covered in snow, didn't have the truck that was reserved for me so he made me get a 20 foot, took about 45 -1 hr to even get the truck because the guy didnt know what he was doing, not to mention he was eating and taking other customers while I was waiting.
