U-haul mentioned me a truck in Winter conditions while it's snowing to go into the mountains to get my trailer and then go across the mountains with that trailer while it's snowing there's no chains causing me to get stuck and after paying an extra $85 for their insurance .. When I called for help they wanted another $325 I said whatever it's not my fault it's yours that I'm stuck... So they're lack of preparing their vehicle for the season of the weather while that season is happening cost me 2 extra days I turned in the truck 2 day is late and refused to authorize any further payments or any service fees or anything fuck thatChain laws required On commercial vehicles and this is a Single axle highway tire from arizonas I'm trying sliding back down I 70 in traffic fucking thanks a lot all your anxiety gave me and cost me 2 extra days to get here is bullshit

I had rented a 15ft truck and I prepaid the $700 for a trip from Boulder,CO to Grand Junction, CO (about 250 miles). I was supposed to have the truck for 2 days. Since I had prepaid and I was running late… I didn't think I needed to change my reservation. When I arrived at the location 2 hrs after my original pick up time, they had re-rented out the 15ft truck. They did not have any 15 ft trucks left. The only trucks they had were 10ft trucks. This truck was too small to fit all of our stuff. We had to drive a friends large SUV to get everything. The cost of the 10 ft truck was just $40 less than the 15ft. But I had to spend extra $ on gas for my friends SUV. Not to mention… I had a hard time with my credit card because I had already prepaid the $700 and then my card wouldn't process for the new amount (over my limit). In total… I spent about 1.5hrs on the phone and trying to work things out at the gas station (my pick up location). I NEVER received an email, or a text, or a phone call when my reservation was cancelled. When I spoke to a customer representative from Uhaul they told me that the customer is responsible for their pick up time. Absolutely RIDICULOUS when they already had my $$$. Overpriced and Poor Customer Service!!!

The check-in information was incorrect - there was no lock on the back of the truck. There were also two different trucks and I didn't know which one was mine. Checking in took a long time and customer service was not available via phone to help (and the person working the gas station had no clue what to do).

I heard horror stories from other parents renting moving trucks the prior weekend and was expecting a long line and perhaps not being able to get a truck. However, my rental at New Boulder Gas was perfect - no line and truck was there, clean and ready to go. The staff on duty were pleasant and efficient and I was able to gas up on return right there! Will definitely use this location next time I need a truck in Boulder.

I rented the 9' cargo van to help my child/student move. I rented on-line in advance and the pick up/ drop off process was smooth. I always click on the box to rent/return in person, and the attendant indicated I should be returning remotely/using the app otherwise I could be charged extra. I really didn't understand bc I chose the in-person option for returning during regular business hours, but in the end I did not get charged extra for returning during business hours at counter. The van was very clean. My only criticism was that there was a warning light indicating an oil change was needed. I brought it to the attention of the person in the station who indicated it was fine to drive. Overall, very good experience.

Originally I didn't make a reservation for a "self-pickup". I realize that this location only seems to do pickups that way, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that that was the only option!

Have a u-box when a customer reserves one. Not having one made me have to find a driver for a rental van I had to reserve which then he had to drive an extra hundred miles, have that driver miss 2 days of work, and make me leave all of my belongings before I knew it was even going to be taken care of. Which then put me 2-3 days behind schedule of when I expected to receive it. Which has hindered greatly my ability to search for jobs or continue school. A $500 discount on the trip for it to get to me would be greatly appreciated for these problems that were completely out of my hands.

I had a very difficult time with the process. I had selected an actual U-Haul store days before my move and was shifted to one of these pick-up locations the morning of. It threw odd my expectations of the day and 45 minutes of my first hour were spent navigating the rideshare system, downloading the app, and speaking with a, very kind, but uninformed, gas station attendant. I loved the truck I used and renting the hand-cart was incredibly helpful, but the situation?? It was the single-most frustrating piece of my move.

I waited here for an hour trying to get someone to move the other uhaul van out of the way so I could back mine out. Was on the line with customer service for 45 minutes. Absolute shit show. Horrible experience.

The on line check in and check out was slow, hard to do on a cell phone in the daylight when it's hard to see, cumbersome and confusing. Plus, there was no way to adequately communicate the fact of the missing dolly. I don't yet know if U-Haul will credit my account for the missing dolly. I will never again rent from any location that doesn't have a live agent on site. The van was fine, thanks for asking.

The license scanning didn't work and I was out in the rain for over half an hour, the agent support didn't help me at all and response time was slow, and my bill was almost twice the estimated. The car was fine but getting the car was a big problem. I also felt robbed by all the unknown charges that raised the cost of my trip.

Please send out the confirmation that the truck has been returned more quickly. I had to sit around for another 30 minutes after returning the truck to get a confirmation email, and this was after asking for it via the chat feature on the website. You should send this out immediately.

We picked up the Uhaul and drove it to our first location. When we got there the back was open, there was a blanket, beer and a joint in the back. Seems like someone had been sleeping it there the night before..... It was pretty gross and we had to dispose of the things that were in the back. Pretty smart homeless guy as it was snowing where we picked it up... If we can get some of our $ refunded to the credit card that would be great.

The app did not work, nor did the browser version! So I was unable to do a contactless pickup. Thankfully, the gas station attendant was very nice and helpful, but without his assistance I would not have been able to pick up the truck!

The truck was in the mud. Not fun to deal with. No explanation about the truck number which made me have to go back in and ask which one was mine. The paperwork indicated a 7/8 full tank, but the gauge clearly showed only 3/4. The blankets that I rented were not in the truck and I almost drove off when I saw the guy bringing them out. They should have been in the truck before I was given the key. Upon return, there was a gas tanker completely blocking access to the pumps on my side of the entryway. I had to go around to park it, and the back pumps had trucks on both sides and I didn't know there was any other access to the pumps, so I had to leave it unfilled. I called the following morning to explain the situation, and I was told they "didn't know about that". That was their response to every comment and question. A 'U-haul' man would take care of that. "I don't know about that". My total rental cost for a 10' truck for less than 10 hours amounted to $216 and change. I'm really disgusted with U-haul and will look for a different solution in the future.

The cab was dirty, I took trash out with me and left it otherwise how I found it. It also reeked of cigarette smoke. I hope they get cleaned especially in between uses during a pandemic.

I told both Uhaul and the merchant that it was impossible to return the uhaul with the roads in the condition they were. They agreed they would take care of the charges and I would only be charged for one day. Not only did they charge me for THREE days, they charged me for full insurance on those days. If this is not resolved I will be contacting my bank and will never use this service again

The truck I was given did not have cruise control. This made a 9 hour drive very difficult. This is the 2nd time I have rented a truck with this company and had to drive more than 15 miles to pick it up! I will not use U-Haul again and will not recommend it.

The uhaul self checkout is horrible, buggy, and time consuming. Then when we finally got the truck and drove to where we would be using it, there was a lock on the back. The rental place wouldn't answer, and the number in uhaul's website had a thirty minute wait time. We keep trying the rental place, finally got through, and spent ten minutes trying different codes because the guy didn't know which one was correct. It was a nightmare. What should've taken 45 minutes tops turned into a 2 hour ordeal. The self checkout should not be available to the public yet, and clearly a place using self checkout shouldn't LOCK the back of the truck without providing a way to unlock it.

The online system is cumbersome - get all the driver info when they request the rental- then just confirm the drivers license at the time of pickup- getting multilabel thins done was cumbersome and took longer than expected.

We rented the truck for a one way cross country move. When I picked up the truck , the UHAUL agent could not find a UHAUL dealer at our destination. There are at least 10 UHAUL locations within our destination zip code. He picked instead a UHAUL location about an hour and a half from my home. He did not seem to know how to work the rental application and had to ask questions from the gas station operator. When I got home, I tried to change my destination location on line but could not and had to call UHAUL to make the change. The UHAUL webpage clearly states the destination address is a preference, not a requirement. Yet I was told if the destination change was not made by a UHAUL manager and I returned the truck to another location, I could be charged up to $500. Thankfully, when I did get to the manager who could make the change, she was very friendly and made the change quickly, for which I am grateful. This was an unnecessary hassle and marred an otherwise successful trip.

The guy at the Boulder Gas location was being very rude. He kept cutting me off as i was trying to explain my situation to him and said that my reservation was never placed.. After trying to show him the confirmation message, he threatened that i go somewhere else. Him and his coworkers would look at me and then tell eachother things in their language and then laugh. i'm never going through those guys again

I struggled to. check-in via the app and the guys inside had to help me. This made me late and although the truck was in working order it was not clean outside or in the cabin. The back was fine. It could be cleaner and the vehicles are parked in the dirt. Would prefer it to be a paved area.

I wouldn't recommend U-Haul to a friend or any of my do it yourself clients again (I am a realtor). Wait times on the phone, your U-Haul app ineffectiveness and the difficulty in getting a hold of someone, I will recommend another company where I don't have these issues going forward.

The app and Uhaul website were very bad. I spent over 2 hours to get things to work. Our reservation was at 6 and after hours support was terrible. I spent over an hour calling customer support but got no help. The only people who were responding then were the online chat folks. It took a long time to find the site to talk to them but they were only slightly helpful

The lot was dark as we returned it at night. It was difficult to find a parking spot. The app was difficult to use. Overall this rental went well. Very safe vehicle and easy to drive . The price was steep but we had no other choice.

The gentleman was trying his best. ONE person that was running the gas station and the Uhaul?! Homeless people that were hanging out inside and out of store. Really scary!! Was change 9.80 for gas?! I only drive 15 miles!! I just wanted to get out of store really fast because of the scary homeless person standing next to me in the store. Never came out to look over the truck and see if I even returned the dolly. I don't blame the gentlemen he was trying his best! I blame Uhaul I think you guys need to do better!!

Truck had water standing in the upper forward compartment and in the front of the main box. The worst part of the rental was that the rental location was changed to a location 10 miles away from the original rental location adding 20 miles to my move because I was doing a move 7 miles in the opposite direction, which should have been a 14 mile move instead of a 35 mile one. Will be renting a truck every week for the next month, will be trying Penske and Budget.

When I arrived they said I did not have a reservation even though I showed them the email confirmation. They did not have the 6-foot truck that I reserved. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate me with a box truck. Next time I will rent a truck with Home Depot. I trust them more than this location.

I turned in vehicle within 24 hour period. The staffer was only one working and asked me to park van in back because he couldn't leave counter. He then checked my vehicle in 45 minutes later which meant I was charged another day rental an insurance. I then had to call Uhaul for refund. This call had me wait 45 minutes before a rude person answered and took another 15 minutes to process refund!

We came from the airport via Uber and arrived an hour early, a rude convenience store clerk that kept ignoring us to take care of customers. This pick up was out of our way, we understood because of truck availability. Then says he can't give us the truck till 11 the time on the contract. I had uploaded our id's, but he needed to do again. Then goes over the contract when I had already prepaid. At 10:45 he locks up the store and takes us to the back, unlocks a door removes the blankets, and gave us the key to the truck and we had to care to the truck ourselves. In the store he tells me to look at the photos he sent and approve. Terrible service.

Took 1.5 hours to pick up, had to cancel the original reservation and make a new one because I couldn't access the first, couldn't contact the call center, and didn't get furniture pads I wanted because I had to make a new reservation. Very frustrating and a waste of time during a stressful moving weekend.

The truck had a major problem with the fuel tank. It wouldn't take more than 0.09 gallons at a time, which meant I had to constantly "click" the gas trigger over and over and over again every time I filled up. This would also require that I go check the fuel gauge mid-fill to see what the level was at. Overall, the trip took me at least 4 hours longer than it would have otherwise, as each gas fill up took close to half an hour. I was very upset with paying such a high price for this broken truck, which Uhaul must have known about from previous comments. Also, I discussed (over the phone with Uhaul) about being comped for an extra 100 miles (the route I took was longer than the route Uhaul provided) but upon returning the vehicle I was charged extra, and there was no note about my conversation with Uhaul prior to my trip about the extra 100 miles. I meant to send this feedback earlier but it slipped my mind. Thanks to Uhaul's spam email, I just remembered. So...thanks?

Make sure there is lighting at this location. There was homeless people behind the lot and where I returned the truck. It is unacceptable to be scared/nervous during a truck dropoff.

Clean the van adequately. The cab was dirty--traces of mud on the floor, lots of dust and small debris on the floor and in stairwell on driver's side. And, worst of all, a Covid mask left on the floor to right of the driver's seat. It was a dark color and matched the black rubber mat so I didn't see it until I had set my backpack on it. This suggests to me that the van was not cleaned at all between the last renter and myself. I have no confidence that anyone wiped down seats, steering wheel, etc with sanitizer. Not acceptable from UHaul or any other vehicle rental company. Too hard to access the location by car! I drove around for almost an hour trying to find a way to get into Boulder Gas on 28th street. It was really difficult. Just look at a map and you will see why.
