I used the self-checkout feature of the U-Haul app. After going through the process I picked up the unit. I noted that the lower set of rear lights failed to work and took a photo of the unit number. I needed to pick it up earlier than the 10am opening of this franchise. At 9:37am I got a call from there with a threat that he was calling the police and report the trailer as stolen. I told him what I did and was told that it was a reservation only, there was no payment, and he was still calling the police. I told him that I made the reservation by phone and I gave my ID and credit card info when I did the self-check. I even offered to return it. He then said he'd check something, came back a moment later and asked for the phone number and name of another adult. After giving that he said that he "fixed" it and that I was good to go. He was extremely rude to me. He could have called to confirm that I had it and not accuse me of theft right away! I think he didn't check the U-Haul system until he put me on hold, then found that I did indeed pay for it yet he never apologized to me. I checked with the U-Haul center I returned it to and he said that unfortunately it happens too often with non-corporate centers.Aaron C.

I spoke to a Uhaul manager named Devin (female) on the phone who was extremely helpful and made sure to correct my reservation. 10/10 recommend her to anyone ! Very polite and professional best customer experience I had in a while .Brittany B.

This location had a sign on the door stating that everything was contactless and that check-in should be completed on one's phone. We had trouble with check-in on mobile, and after thirty minutes called the store. We told them we were standing right outside and they said 'please come in -- not sure why we have that sign up anymore.' Which was confusing and cost us quite a bit of time. After we returned our rental, we were charged for Insurance even though we denied it at every turn.Katie F.

I placed some bedding high on top of a 5 tier shelf and placed shelf in middle of unit, a mouse still found its way to my stuff and made camp. The thing died in my bedding and all of the bedding was ruined including the down pillows. I ha:e rented outside storage 3 other times and did not have any rodent issues elsewhere. I had no problems with making a reservation for a unit, however when I went to sign the paperwork for it, I was not told that the units located directly next door were not the units belonging to the office. It took two phone calls to get directions from the office to the storage units. Furthermore, when I called to report moving out of the unit, a note was made but I was not removed from the system and I received an invoice charging me for another month's rental.ALISON J. | Overall Experience

It would be great if there is a person actually available to speak to a customer when the horrible app does not work (for Android). The app needs to be improved. I ended up having to get a third phone for the pick up. I then had to spend almost 40 minutes trying the app with 2 different phones for return. We had to finally give up on the app and use the website which finally worked. Very frustrating!John B.

The 24/7 truck share experience was inconvenient. My pick up location had changed more than once. The time time it took to pick up truck set us back 1 whole hour. I was very disappointed.Marie N.

I was just kind of disappointed to find four huge rats in my belongings like you know in the unit and there was quite a bit of feces that I was kind of nervous about trying to clean it up just because of the health concerns and stuff so hopefully I didn’t get charged for any kind of cleanup fee or anything like that I mean other than that definitely was more than satisfied with me and now their service every time they were quite helpful when I called them paying our monthly payment and everything ha ha I had a good experience either other than the rats thank you very muchMark B. | Overall Experience

I was given a location 16 miles away from my location to drop my U-Haul off at. When I picked my U-Haul up the guy in reidsville stated that he was leaving my drop off at customer preference, because i was unaware of the area. This location had all the signs that he was a uhaul dealer so we dropped it off and I called the next morning. He was very rude and upset stating he was NOT doing the uhaul stuff anymore because of Covd-19, and that he couldn't help me with anything. He was rude.. i am very dissatisfiedCheryl H.

Don't try to upsell I came in there for a trailer hitch to pull a car and I end up with something totally different than what I asked for just so I could be charged an additional $10 when I tried to explain it to the agent he going to tell me that based on the size of the truck this is what it said it neededAngela F.

Somehow the online system set me up for a 1-way rental when it was actually in town. Nick thought that was odd and corrected the contract, saving me money and time. Corporate needs to investigate why I was not given the option of returning the vehicle to the same location from which I rented it.David S.

At Nick's, the man was helpful while we were there, but he did not put our return in the computer. We turned it in on the 16th when we weren't due to turn it on until the 19th. We received a text about turning it in on the 19th - called Nicks, the man said he would fix it and have it as turned in on the 16th - we then called the 800 number later in the day and it still had not been taken care of - after speaking to her, (she was amazing), we received a receipt saying it was turned in on the 19th instead of the 16th and it mentioned late fees. I have not seen them charged. It was just added stress we didn't need with the move.Jonathan G.

Absolute nightmare from the day of online reservation, to pick-up day, and return day. Nick's Storage in North Augusta was awful to deal with!! Aaron was rude, condescending, and not helpful whatsoever. He had absolutely no â€œpeople skillsâ€, nor was he interested in trying to help solve any of the problems at hand. Aaron insisted I go somewhere else and call 1-800-GOUHAUL because my problem was with them, and not his concern. His unwillingness to do his job was infuriating. He attempted to overcharge me the day of pick up, and again the day we returned the truck; even though the balance IN FULL was paid online the day the truck was reserved, and proof was presented to him. My contract was changed around numerous times in the computer system. Had I not screenshot the original conformation email, I would've clearly been taken advantage of. I will NEVER do business with UHAUL or any of their affiliates again, and I would advise anyone looking for storage or truck rentals, to avoid Nick's Storage.Carol B M.

Poor customer service. I asked him to change my drop off location and he said it was handled. Once I got to my location, I had to call the 800 number to get it changed since they didnt get it right at pick up. Then he sent me out to get my trailer with no help. The trailer was located in the woods and I had to hook everything up by myself. SORRY!Luther H.
