Reserving our trust wad quick and easy. The location for pick up was also fine, no complaints. However, we did not receive any of the equipment we rented which was a big annoyance for the ease of our move. I had to speak with 4 customer service agents over the time span of 3 days and fortunately was issued a refund for those items. But the problem of getting items was never solved so we had to go about the moving process and without the tools and items we had planned for. Also the app was EXTREMELY slow during the check in process. It took triple the amount of time compared to similar experiences just waiting for the pages to load and having to redo certain sections multiple times without explanation. Overall, uhaul is a useful company for people needing to rent equipment to move large objects quickly. But not, it is not the nicest or cleanest vehicles, and the process may not turn be stress-free.

JEFFREY SThe worst customer service ever! Truck was not cleaned. No appliances dolly on site and no blankets as I paused for. Lock box did not work, after an hour they figured out the code, there key would not open the box. The app would not let me take before pictures, back of truck probably had 1/2 bag of leaves. I was told I would not get my money back for the dolly and blankets…Really! No option. I asked the the facility checked the outbound order and asked if anyone verified that my order was ready…like a clean truck and all supplies were there that I paired for…apparently NOT! I will be using someone else in the future. And I honestly don’t expect a satisfactory response from this.

Rob MBetter communication between service desk personnel. I dropped the key to the rental truck on the same day that it was rented (Sat, Nov 18) per the instruction of the person at the desk Saturday morning. Then I received a call the following Tuesday from another person stating the truck was two days overdue. When I informed the person that I had returned the truck and dropped off the key on Saturday as instructed, this new person looked at the paperwork and 'discovered' the instructions. It was a minor aggravation.

Karl ZLet renters know where the container for the key is. All I got from the app was the code but there were no directions for where you enter the code. I spent 30 minutes on hold with two departments before I got an answer about how to access the key.

David VService reps were great. Vehicle was very good. I made the mistake of not verifying the pickup/dropoff mileage. I have been charged for 50 local miles when all of my google maps calculations of my trips total no more than 40 miles. The issue has been referred to the Regional Area Rep.
MICHAELPATRICK MIn regards to 26916274, I was heavily dissatisfied with uhaul’s service and equipment. Upon picking up the vehicle, I took photos of how dirty the interior was, with sticky residue all over it. I had asked about making it a one way, but the clerk seemed too overwhelmed to answer my question, at which point, I called customer service, who told me that I could switch from round trip to one way at any time, and that it would reflect in the balance. I didn’t have time to ask for more information, as I needed to get back on the road, but something felt off in the vehicle, and I drove cautiously despite trying to reassure myself of the standards the vehicles have to be maintained at. It wasn’t until I arrived at the location and unloaded the equipment that I was able to call and attempt to switch to one way. The kind customer service operator then informed me of the actual policy, that once something is dispatched, the trip cannot be changed. Although, that was a costly misunderstanding, especially since I would then need to drive back to Yorktown, I didn’t want to make a huge deal out it. It was then that I was asked if I still needed the vehicle, and was confused. Apparently, this location had never dispatched me officially, which means that for half of the trip, I was completely uninsured, putting me and everyone on the road at risk should I have gotten into an accident. It only got worse from here, as when I told the customer service operative which piece of equipment I was in, I was then informed that it was down for service, and not cleared for use. The customer service operator was not responsible for this, obviously, so I did not express it at the time, but I was livid. Not only was I uninsured, and being prompted to continue driving an uninsured vehicle, and “just be very careful”, but I was in a vehicle that was potentially dangerous in high traffic over a long distance that I would have to repeat. I feel that I, through the negligence of Uhaul’s staff was put in danger. On the way home, the check engine light came on, (I took a picture of it at the next gas station and a video of which vehicle it was, TM 1998 E) which led me believe that their claims that it had already been repaired were misinformed, and that although I had allowed myself some reassurance when they said this, I was wrong to trust their reassurances when it came to this location. No attempts were made to correct this error outside of telling me that they had, after I brought this situation to their attention, contacted their superiors, cleared the vehicle remotely, while it was still in my possession and without the ability to be inspected by a professional, and then sent a new contract that was still a round trip. In the end, the card was still charged as though they met the standards of service and equipment that they guarantee. I do not believe that an organization has ever exposed me to this much risk before through its negligence and miscommunication, and I feel as though the situation is something that is being brushed under the rug while they are making a profit off of me.
Michael MI did not know I would need to send a picture of my military LES, so I had to drive back home to get it. I wish this requirement was communicated before I went to get the truck.

Mason RReserved a utility dolly. They didn’t have one but was told I had to purchase one for 49.00. The dolly was scuffed and scratched and looked like it had been used but I was desperate. When I noticed that the truck I reserved did not have a ramp I told them I could not use the dolly and wanted a refund. He said he would give me a truck that did have a ramp. It was not until after I left the lot and got to my location that I noticed that I was charged 10 dollars more without them telling me. I feel like I was ripped off. The mileage was not correct. The gas marked was not correct. I will not use this location again.
Jacqueline TPlease make sure the hood of the vehicle is closed all the way before renting to a customer. The hood popped open while I was driving.
MARK KThis truck had a lot miles and ran very rough and was difficult to start. Foretunately I only drove 15 miles. Otherwise my experience with U-Haul and Ocean Storage was excellent..

Jil WWe reserved a hand truck and furniture pads a month in advance and were told at pick up they didn't have any available. This was day of the move. She acted like she was doing us a favor by noy charging for it. This impacted entire move and nothing further was offered. Very disappointed.

CHRISTOPHERJOSEP AI rented an appliance dolly because the reason I needed this vehicle was to move some appliances. The location did not have the appliance dolly and so this made the job of moving the appliances extremely difficult. This is the second we rented from U-Haul and they did not have what I rented. The first time I had to drive an hour away to get the trailer I rented.
Roquemore SEquipment desired not available. Reserved additional equipment in the form of dollies and they were not available. Truck ran poorly customer service was excellent at the location however.
Robert MInform customers what the rules are for weight stations. When we were traveling, we were unaware if we needed to stop at any of the stations.
RONALDS KEquipment did have trash behind the seats but wasn’t too bad. One of the staff members was really rude and a few of us were waiting outside before they came to unlock the doors.

Priscilla aGreat experience. Reserved trailer and checked in online before arrival. I arrived earlier than expected but the trailer was there, it took only 3-4 minutes to check in, the staff hooked up my trailer in the pouring rain and I was on my way in less than 15 minutes. The nice lady at the desk was friendly and interactive. Masks were required as well as distancing. Hand wash/spray materials available. Definitely a great place to rent a U-Haul. I even completed the project and returned the trailer a day early and they issued me a partial refund!!! Great experience overall!!!

David DI used a van to move a tv. Had the van hours. I was charged 25 dollars for cleaning. How unclean can a tv in a box make a van driven with no passenger. I dont recommend this location. The van was returned as checked out. They are waiting for the next guy to charge extra for renting out a van
