Need a u-haul personnel to be present. No paper work was given. Took way too much time to conclude the deal and hand over the keys. The shopkeeper was kind though but he was not a u-haul proffessional.

upon arrival the store associate was less than helpful. he asked what trailer we were getting and then proceeded to tell us to hook it up and then pull to the door so that he could take a picture (which he didn't do). He offered additional coverage to us but couldn't provide the amount for insurance nor what it covered. Overall this was a horrible uhaul experience.

I had to hookup the trailer myself and check turning and breaklights. It's heard to check by yourself. Also had to unhook myself. I just got my receipt 24 hours later.

Needs more help at the gas station/food snack location. I had to wait 45 minutes for someone to come in because the clerk would have had to temporarily close and lock up to come outside and help attach the trailer.

This truck was in an unacceptable condition. The shocks were terrible; the brakes were terrible; the steering wheel was crumbling in our hands; we were unable to adjust the side mirrors as the knobs were broken off so we had no way to adjust them and/or see adequately before switching lanes; we had to drive through a very bad storm and the wipers were in very poor condition; and the cigarette lighters were both broken which wouldn't have been a big deal except for the fact that we would have liked to been able to use our phone for music and to charge while driving over 700 miles. This truck was essentially a death trap. I no longer will recommend U-Haul.

Was told ahead my truck with 3 dozen blankets and a dolly would be all ready for pick up. This sight had no equipment. The guy then sends me to another U-Haul site to get the blankets and upon arrival they had no blankets. This site sent me to another site and I finally got the equipment. Unfortunately the first guy had no interest in helping me and assured me the second U-Haul site would have my equipment without checking. I wasted miles driving the truck all over town as well as packing time. What a waste.

This place is a gas station. Had to go back twice because vehicle was not checked in when we were told it was. UHaul customer service was no help at all. Waste of my time and frustrating. Will not use uhaul again.

After having checking the vehicle out online to supposedly reduce time in the store, I arrived and was told by the agent, "Wait 10 minutes. I can't give you the keys. I have to text the person can." "Is that person not here?" "He is at home. Uh, he is out of town. Just 4 minutes." Several minutes later.... "Okay, you can have the keys." The back of the truck unswept and had several cardboard boxes full of trash. The cabin also had trash in it. I had to clean the vehicle out myself, making me even more late. What gets me is that in the end, instead of receiving a discount for doing UHAUL's job for them (cleaning out the truck), UHAUL profits off of me reporting the problem by collecting a fine from the previous renter. They make money by being lazy.

There was no one to help hook up the 6x12. The guy running the gas station didn't even want to come out to check for scratches. Not sure why I didn't get the furniture blankets I ordered. I wish you hadn't changed my pickup location from the branded Uhaul place in Vestavia to this gas station.

Admittedly, I arrived earlier than my scheduled pick-up time, but there was no record of my reservation in the gas station (!) attendant's Uhaul laptop. Though the van was there and ready and I had a confirmation email as well as a reservation number, he claimed there was no way to rent the vehicle unless my name was in his computer. He asked no questions, had no answers for my questions, apparently had no resources, and was generally unhelpful. I really feared I might be stuck paying for a van I was unable to use. It wasn't until I found a phone number for Uhaul online and was waiting to speak to customer service that my reservation magically popped up on his laptop and he could process my rental. It would have been worth a trip to the Uhaul store to avoid this hassle.

I had ordered a 10" truck but had to take a 15" truck which uses more gas in turn costing me more. The pickup location was changed to further away and the extra miles cost me $44. If a customer has to take a larger truck then planed and the pickup location is changed, I feel the customer should be compensated.

The rental is handled inside what is a corner store/gas station but the people were very friendly and helpful. The vehicle was in excellent condition and the entire process was very easy. I would rent from this location again.

While I understand the rationale behind reserving the right to "upgrade" a truck, going from a 15' to a 26' foot truck unexpectedly meant that it was almost impossible to maneuver it into the apartment complex, it used more gas, it was harder to drive, and I can only assume the insurance was more costly... basically a pretty hellish experience. The Palisades location refused to even try to help, telling me that I had reserved a 26' foot truck (a big fat lie). When I showed him my earlier email indicating a 15' foot truck, he suggested that I had made two reservations (another big fat lie), pointing to the different pickup location (which you guys changed, too). The online assistance was even worse. Fortunately, the site on Montgomery Hwy 31 did everything they could to make the situation tolerable.

Well I had 2 diffrent reaervations because when I meedes truck I live in guntersville was moving mom from Birmingham the first one they sent me to Birmingham had us waste a whole day plus gas then gave us a pick up order out of huntsville cost me 275 cause we were late getting truck to move them they told me they had a truck the next day sent me to another location and didnt have a truck had to go all the way across town to finally pick up a truck and was 5 hours late that day y'all said u eas gone give discount to off set cost but can't seem to get that either

Pickup appointment was at 8:30am, nobody was there, called uhaul to get in touch with manager. Manager stated that they don't actually open until 9am. The employee finally showed up at 9:10ish, slow and unsure of what he was doing. I told him that I would like the $14 insurance with my truck rental he charged me $42! This is the worst uhaul experience I've ever had!

I had two issues: (1) My pick up location was changed from what I selected during the online reservation process. This is very frustrating because there is a reason I select a specific location provided to me during the reservation process for pickup. This has happened in the past and I KNOW this can be avoided with proper logistics management (2) I had specified an Appliance Dolly in my reservation which was NOT available at my new location. I was told I could drive to another location and pick up one! Completely unacceptable and avoidable!

give the customer a signed contract, explain all fees upfront, whoever handles the uhaul renting should be at the facility to handle the transaction instead if the customer being told to come back the next day

The guy behind the counter never came out and walked around the truck with me or anything. He gave me the key and said the truck number is on the key. I went and found it and there was mud all over it. He didn't give me any paperwork at all, the mileage, the gas level or anything. He s as I'd it would be in my email and I never got it. I had to remember where the gas level was so I could refill it. This is the second time in 2months I have rented from uhaul. The first time was excellent. This time I was disappointed.

Reserved a small trailer for rental. When I arrived I was told that they were unable to rent a trailer that day from that location. I was told that I would have to go to another location to rent a trailer. U-Haul offers a $50 money back guarantee for rentals. They did not give me $50. I had to go to a separate location and rent a trailer. I checked my credit card bill today, and noticed I was charged for both trailer rentals. Apparently, they charge me for the original reservation even though they refused to rent the trailer to me when I arrived to pick it up. I wish I could assign them negative stars. This is the second time in a row that I have attempted to rent a trailer from U-Haul and had a significant issue and ended up having to pay for the consequences. The $50 guarantee is bologna.

This was the worst experience next to the last time I rented a uhaul, never again. No one to walk around the trailer with me there was damage to the trailer, he collected personal information over the phone.

While it worked out, the remote personnel check out by phone and self-serve nature was initially awkward. This added to the inability to reach the u Haul location based upon contact info provided in a single text message from this location the day before my rental to confirm details was a source of anxiety since I absolutely had to move on the given day of the start of the rental.

This was the worse customer service that I’ve received in a long time. I rented the truck on Friday evening, here it is Sunday and I’m still upset about what took place. I will never be renting another uhaul if this is the service I will be getting. The representative was not informative, neither did he listen to my concerns about what was going on with my rental. That cause me to over charge for something that could’ve been avoided had he just done his job.

The rep did not speak English, he did not give a contract, or provide me with a copy of the receipt or give me a specific amount I would be charged. He never communicated with me to ask any questions. He simply took my debit card and my ID. I later checked my account and was charged more than expected. I am a very unsatisfied customer

I would not recommend this location to pay from a credit card. The owner booked my rental through phone and gave my credit card info on phone. Within 24 hours, my card details were compromised and a fraud happened. If you are paying cash, this is a good place in general.

The window on the left side of the truck was broken. The attendant did not verify my ID, and he ordered the wrong equipment. Earlier that day, I verified on the phone with Uhaul's customer service that I needed a car tower, where all four wheels are off the ground. They said everything would be ready for me, and this was also in my reservation. At the Palisades location, there were only tow dollys that pull the front wheels, so we had to waste at least a hour going to another Uhaul location to get what I requested. The attendant was on the phone for at least half an hour to make arrangements. When we arrived to get the car tower at the address I was given, the attendants there had no idea about it. I was very unimpressed with my customer service and wasted valuable time on a day I was driving across the country.

Poor customer service when I returned the truck. The clerk had me to do his job by asking me to take a picture of the mileage on his phone so he would not have to get in the truck and check for himself. Then he was very curt when I asked him about getting a paper copy of my receipt. He kept telling me that I would get an email and would not explain further.

They did not have any idea about my reservation made days in advance. They didn't want to immediately help me since it's run out of a gas station and their incoming customers were more important. They did not have any hand carts like I specified on the reservation. The truck was given to us on empty. It was not a great experience overall.

The Uhaul business owner who runs it out of a convenient store was 45 mins late from the time I had scheduled my pick up. I was scheduled to pick up at 10:00am and he didn’t show up until 10:45am. Unacceptable and very unprofessional. The gas tank was completely empty when picked up.
