I was set up to do the rental by mobile pick up which didn't work at all which sucked. I was lucky to find that the store was open and I could do the processing with them in person. I was not happy that $100 was taken for a rental that had an est of $65 and in the end it became a problem with getting my receipt and credit back from the $100 which was processed. I've spent the last 4 days dealing with this to a end of U-haul having to write me and mail me a paper check for the refund from the rental cost vs the $100 taken. The store was helpful with pick up and drop off, U-Haul not so much.Kheley R.

U-Haul does trucks well and the person behind the counter at Pawn Royale was helpful and friendly and had a good sense of humor. FUTURE customers should have NO CONFIDENCE any guarrenteed rented items (movers, dollies, etc.) will actually be available/show up. I reserved an appliance dolly, 2 furniture dollies, and a regular dolly for boxes, and furniture blankets, as well as 2 movers the day of my move. There was NO box dolly. There were NO furniture dollies. We had to drive across town to Skyland to secure a last-minute appliance dolly. THE MOVERS NEVER SHOWED UP. My brother and I were left to move a 2BR apartment in 98 degree heat by ourselves because the movers never showed up. We moved furniture by hand down 2 -- TWO -- flights of stairs with multiple turns. Do not use MovingHelp.com and definitely DON'T use Hasty Hauling and Moving. When I booked mover/truck loading services over the phone, Scott told me to expect a call from my 2 movers the day prior to the move. That call? It was a barely audible cell call from IDAHO. There was NO ONE actually in Tuscaloosa answering the Hasty Hauling and Moving Co.'s phones or communicating clearly w/me. The individual Tuscaloosa-based "movers" never called or answered the phone. When the movers had not shown up by 10:30 am. the day of my move, my mom had to call to cancel. She stayed on the phone with U-Haul/Moving Help for over an hour trying to pin someone down. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT count on anything other than the truck if you move with U-Haul! My brother had to stand in a 100+ degree metal truck loading and arranging heavy furniture and boxes. Because of U-Haul's unfullfilled promises, a loading that should have taken 2 hours took 6. We should have left Alabama by NOON (at the latest). Because the movers never showed, we left at 3:30. U-Haul sent email after email promising all of the above was "guarenteed." If your company cannot guarentee your products or services, don't offer them to customers!sarah C.
I got shafted on the fuel. They indicated it was half full but when I got in the truck it had an 1/8 less. They also had a flawed odometer reading. I put 2 gallons back in after driving less than 20 miles. I got charged like $30 extra for gas.Daniel S.

Hello, I needed furniture pads in Tuscaloosa, AL. so I looked up a Uhaul location. I found one, but it was located at a pawn shop. I went there on Saturday 04/16/22 and rented 36 furniture pads. I only needed the pads for 6 hours and then I wanted to return them the same day. The guy told me that he didn't want them back until Monday 04/18/22. I was told the price would be $30. After I returned the pads, my card was charged $90. I was told the price would be $30. I tried to return the pads the same day within 6 hours of renting the pads, but the UHAUL location within a Pawn Shop would not allow me to return the furniture pads until Monday 04/18/22. I would like the amount of $60 that was overcharged to my card refunded. You will also notice that I never signed a contract stating that I would be charged $90 to rent 3 dozen furniture pads for 6 hours. I wanted to return the pads on the same day but I was not allowed to do so.Mark M.
Poor location to get in and out. Charged an extra fee to drop off early and the location was not even open on the Sunday I dropped it off. All other Uhaul locations allow early drop off. I will not be using this location again.Ronald S.

We showed up a few minutes earlier to look at the trucks (never rented from Uhaul, so didn't know what to expect). The location opened on the hour a few minutes later, but the employee was out there reviewing trucks. Lori asked him a question and was met with a rude response, and when they opened he was extremely short with me and responded to us as if we were stupid. Never going to that place again. The lock was hard to open. I had to get the owner to open it for me. Upon returning the truck, the uhaul website was down and I had to call and hold for over an hour for the lady to say â€œ okay I put it in that the system was down. They will check your truck in n the next business dayâ€.Kristie T.

This trip in the U-Haul truck was terrible! The truck overheated and we had to pull over several times to let it cool. The truck also got more difficult to start on every crank up. Then towards Dallas a traction control warning also came on. We then got to Dallas Texas. The car wouldn't even crank at the gas station. We called the emergency road assistance. The service man was over an hour away. This was at around 11pm at night! He got to us and did a decent job that turned out to be a temporary fix. He said the truck needed to be serviced, he said they don't build good trucks anymore. He said the nut connected to the starter was coming off and thats why the car wouldn't crank. He tightened to nut and fixed the start up issue. He then told us the oil pipe going into the engine wasn't connected and oil was coming out causing the truck to overheat. He said the car wasn't inspected and needed servicing. We got to our hotel. Then had to leave 5 hours later to make the trip in the time we needed. We barely got any sleep due to the faulty truck. Unfortunately, the truck overheated an hour into the trip while we were idling. We had to pull over a lot of times to let the truck cool. I ended up missing my job interview. I also had to purchase oil to put into your faulty truck. The rep at the drop off location says that the people who gave us the truck need to offer reimbursement, and I agree.Kara P.

The truck was acceptable. As most, it had its quirks. It had a pretty bad shake while driving, but all in all, it was fine. The online checkin was nice, beside having to wait for them to call an â€œalternateâ€ number before letting me rent. This made no sense at all. They called my wife and hung up on her and then let me get the key. All in all, great location and good experience.Mark B.

We could not get the truck size we wanted at any location in our city. The truck windshield was so full of bugs you could barely see out. We had reserved pads and there were none avaliable. The employee said the customer ahead of me rented them all.Kim Y.
Website said store opened at 830. It wasn't open when I gave up after 9. I tried using u haul.com to leave the keys and iy wouldn't work. I was charged a convience fee for my not being able to communicate with uhaul.com. Also the truck would not allow me to see the correct mileage. I took a pic of it as asked and it tild me it was less than when I started.Otherwise truck was good and when was able to see them the employees were OK. One other thing, the gas tank was on 3/4 full making it hard to know how much gas to put in.Barry R.

I love using Uhaul! I've moved several times and the service has always been excellent!! I just want Uhaul to know that the truck had not been washed on the outside. There was mud splattered down the sides. This will not keep me from renting from Uhaul in the future. When I filled out the online return, one of the questions that I was asked: "is the truck clean for the next customer". I answered "no", because it was dirty on the outside when I picked it up. I have called and tried to fix things about 5-6 times through the last 3 days. Friday I was supposed to get my Uhaul at 9:30, I called the day before to confirm and make sure everything was good, and I was told the Uhaul would get to the pickup location at 9:00 and I was good. At 9:30 am (pickup time) my driver was called and said it would not be ready until 5 pm. That didn't work for me because I had already made all my plans around getting my Uhaul at 9 am and the driver was already an hour down the road on the way to pickup. I then rescheduled to Monday and reserved it for two days. My driver got there Monday and didn't get the furniture dolly or the blankets I paid for. Then I ended up retuning Uhaul after 12 hours of use (paid for 2 days). Then, in total, I get charged 150 extra just for the gas. We put more gas in and it was right around where I remembered the gas was at when I picked it up. I also got a $60 charge for missing/ damaged, I believe they were charging me for dollies and blankets that I never got! So I need to be refunded at least the $60 for â€œmissingâ€ dollies and for the original purchase of the dollies and blankets, I forget the exact price. I believe the gas being $150 extra was also too much considering we did put more gas in it. I know am currently on hold, and have been on hold for the past 45 minutes. PLEASE help and provide me with some assistance.Ryan K.
