When I booked I was told that I was reserved for a certain location. However the day before that Â´ location changed the morning prior. I wasn't happy. Booking agents need to be more careful with what they tell clients.STEPHEN D.
Not a great experience to pick up. Truck was not located where my reservation said it was supposed to be. Had to go from Paris street location all the way to Chelmsford 35 mins away. I even asked Cal Gilly the So called Manager why he or someone else not go go and get it for me when I checked the day before pick up? He kept saying he couldn't do that and to me that is totally unprofessional. What if I worked all day and couldn't get to new location? Then there was a wrong address for Chelmsford location and the smallest sign to let us know it was a uhaul rental office. Stall there was curteous but the truck was all around back of building and windshield was iced up with snow. And no scraper. Truck was in great shape mechanically and very clean. After returning from trip after hours had to Drop off key at Paris street location. Had to walk up to a dark unmarked corner office to drop off box. Wouldn't want my daughter going there late at night. Overall not happy with pick up or drop off. Truck was great and very clean. Was contacted later in day before pick up and was told they would not charge me for the extra miles to go pick up the truck in Chelmsford. I was elated!! To improve the service. Need to have better handle on equipment needs for reservation pick up locations. Offer a different size truck! Maybe go pick up truck for customer. That's customer service. Find a way.MICHELE F.
The payment machine was not functioning at this location. I had to call 1-800 number and was on hold for over 20min. Then when I finally got through I was put on hold again and finally reached someone else who could help. She took credit card payment (I had wanted to use interact at store). And when I went inside it still took an inordinate amount of time to get keys and be on my way. I was there 1 hour 20 min. That is unacceptable. The blankets I reserved were also not there. Please refund those charges.. You can make sure all agents have functioning equipment or allow online reset of checkin so customer can revert to pay field. Reimbursement for my time lost would be appropriate.Kent M.

Had to pay 2 different moving company for nothing. Was supposed to get uhaul on the 1st was stuck paying 55$ for an extra day to stay at my old appartement. Then when I moved 18hours away the movers here were booked cause we were late 2 days cause the uhaul situation then we are stuck paying for an extra 2 days for the truck for nothing -_- Just for down-payment of the movers cost us a leg and a arm and they couldn't even help on the 2nd cause there were booked i was stuck paying them for nothing and also moved a full 3 bedroom house alone with my bf with a 6 months old baby that took us even longer:(jeseanne L.

Prepare the truck for the rental. I had requested moving blankets and an appliance dolly. After opening the door to the truck I discovered it was empty an when I went to see the clerk he had to scramble to find the dolly and told me he had never heard anyone ever using or requesting moving blanket before.Jason K.
The lady a the store did not know how the system worked, I got doubled charged and when I call the customer servie line, After an hour of waiting, the oyounf lady on the phone lied and did not send me the confirmation I wanted by email. This is the worst location to rent, caution guys. They WILL rip you off. But It's the only one in Northern Ontario, so they DO NOT CARE how they treat their customers. I am still waiting for the email from the Call center, CAUTION when deaing with u-haul in the North.raymond M.

I was not impressed with the idea that the only way you contact people is with Email. I rarely use Email and was expecting a phone call is any changes happened. I found out that what I had reserved was not available that very morning because I called the rental place and they told me that they did not have a trailer. Will not use again.Gaston T.

You can stop ripping people off with your gift cards!! This is twice now! First time I had a gift card I tried to use and was told had to present it at time of pickup, which makes no sense because that is not when you pay for it. The second time I presented at the time of pickup and the dealer called U-haul and tells the dealer the gift cards are redeemed when truck is returned, I said I was told it had to be presented at pickup and said no its when you return it. I return the truck and present the gift cards and tried to redeem the gift cards and then gets told they have to be presented at pick up. Nothing but a total scam!!! Sell gift cards and don''t let your customers use them. No reason why they can't be used when the truck is returned, just a method to screw people that's U-haul policy. Kasia was very helpful. Uhaul was having technical issues that day.. whoever Kasia was dealing with at main office was not helpful nor would I want to deal with that person again. Your new policy of uploading pictures of driver's licenses should be double checked to see if it is legal not to mention that people like myself and older do not do a lot with their cell phones such as upload pictures. I do not have data on my phone nor do most older people. If you want pictures uploaded then provide that service from Uhaul people when the client arrives. To be told that I cannot rent the vehicle because I cannot upload photos makes for a very stressful time considering you are loading a truck to move. I was not a very happy person that day.helmut H.

People where really nice but, Thursday night i was there for 40 min to an hour, Friday morning the same and booked it over the phone. I went to pick up the truck at 1.45 friday and stayed for an hour still couldn't pick up the truck up, so I had to go run errands then got a call at 4 saying that I could pay for the truck now. People working tried to be as helpful as they could and where great but should take three visits and over 3 hours to pick up a truckMatthew L.

There was no trained employee to do my return. The attendant even refused to come outsider to check the mileage and gas gages. At first, she even backed away from the counter when I tried to give her the truck keys as she did not know how to do a return. I asked to speak to the manager/owner. He refused to come out of his office! The young employee wanted me to go back three days later when the ONLY trained employee would be back from her days off. I had to get the young lad who was pumping gas to go to the truck and write down the information. When I asked the employee to at least sign off on the information she would not do si. Nor would the manager/owner. I insisted on leaving my telephone # for the trained employee to call me back when she returned to work. I never received a call so I returned to do a follow up. At first, the trained employee could not find my contract. When I gave her the truck number, she gave me the name of another person and asked if I'd rented the truck under that name. This guy was a total stranger to me. She was finally able to find the paper with the information I had left. Somebody had printed out a receipt with an amount charged to my credit card without my knowkedge of the outstanding costs or without my signature. Having to move for medical reasons is stressful enough without having to deal with this type of incompetence! What kind of company are you Dunning? I strongly advise you to make a more indept study before you allow someone to become an agent. Also, if they are going to become agents, they should have one trained employee on shift at all times; Furthermore, the managers/owners should have the common decency to speak to the customer. NO, I am NOT satisfied or happy with my U-Haul experience! Remember, you asked!Monique A.
Requested a 15' truck and a tow bar. Received a 26' truck and a trailer. Truck and trailer were covered in snow. Was supposed to pick up at 9am on Thursday morning. Not ready. Did the paperwork and returned at 1:30pm, truck was cleaned off but not the trailer. Truck had not been used in a very long time! Very apparent. Returned the Friday morning at 6:30am to pick up the trailer- it took us TWO HOURS to clean off the trailer from snow and hook up to truck and put on our van. There were no lights working outside the location and it was -20 degrees. The tire straps were frozen solid and not bendable. We stopped four times to tighten then straps en route. Horrible experience. Also, was given the wrong drop off location on my paperwork. When I arrived at that location, I was advised that I could not drop off. Owner of that location reached out to the u haul Supervisor of the area. The u haul Supervisor spoke to me condescendingly on the telephone, threatened to charge me more for dropping off at that location which was clearly written on all of my paperwork- his name is Jeff Desilets (name that he gave me-would not give me a telephone number). He was supposed to reach out to me by end of business day on Friday to offer compensation for the extra gas that I had to pay - for extra large truck and trailer- as well as for the 2 hour morning issue and for not receiving the truck and trailer in a timely manner as well as the drop off location being wrong on all of my paperwork. I never heard from him. Also, I returned the truck and trailer in less than 24 hours and was billed for two days. At drop off location, I was advised that I would need to call for a discounted rate. The attendant was very nice. The inside of the cab of the moving truck was dirty. The back of the 20" truck, upon stepping into it we started sliding, the bed was full of liquid laundry detergent, we had to clean and wash the floor before loading the truck.Lorie G.

I ordered the Uhaul online from a specific location and then the morning of pick up I was contacted and informed that the location did not have my rental and I would need to drive 53km each way from my home. This delayed my move over 1.5 hrs in total, caused extra wear and tear to my vehicle, and cost extra in gas. I shouldn't be able to order a trailer or truck from a pick up location if they don't have it. I was also double charged, the initial online booking was charged to my visa and I had to pay a larger amount 143$ as oppose to the 125 I paid online at the pick up location. As a result I was doubled charged and expect a full refund for one rental and to be compensated for my wasted gas, time, and wear on my vehicle due to uhual errorsJamie H.

When I arrived with a contract that showed 7 days + 1 hour for $374.00 + $40 protection + tax ($467.82) and I was within the time limit, they said it was supposed to be 3 days and I had to pay for 4 additional days + fees ($126.56). My total cost for the trailer rental for 7 days was $594.38. MAJOR RIP-OFF!!!Alan L.
The entire process was absolutely awful. Between the extremely long wait time sorting my rental out, having my vehicle damaged, an uneducated dealer, being put through over 10 people on the phone before I could get help etc etc I could go on for days ! The lady I booked the Uhaul with had good customer service, unfortunately the guy who I dealt with to pick up the uhaul was useless. He said we had to wait for someone to arrive to check over the uhaul before we could take it. He couldn't tell me how many miles I could go before I would be charged extra. He kept putting the expected mileage in wrong, trying to over charge me by $150! I went out to check the Uhaul before driving it away, and when I came back in to grab the key, it was like he didn't remember I was already renting it, he thought I was a new customer. We spent 30 mins waiting for someone to show up to check it over, and then he told us we didn't have to wait. When I dropped it off, it was a different lady, and she hadn't been trained to deal with the rentals. I will never use the Chelmsford location again, and I definitely won't recommend it to anyone.melissa S.
When you rent it's first come first serve. There was a truck beside where i was on the Friday in Hanmer and they said it was reserved. Well hello so did i before him i picked mine up further in Chelmsford and the closer one was still there Saturday. Don't think it's fair.MARCEL C.

Get staff that are trained properly. I had to call everything in myself. They reported the wrong starting milage, did not inspect my rental with me, put the wrong drop off location, could not process my return of the vehicle. Absolutely avoid this location if possible. Was a nightmare for me, and all the others renting U-Haul from this place.Yvon C.

The issue is not with the location it is squarely with U-Haul. What an absolute horrible company and I will never rent from them again and I will work hard at encouraging others to book with a better company.
