I followed the drop off instructions, had at least 4 phone calls, and was on hold for 45 minutes. It was Picked up Friday May 16 in Brandon, MB (everything was easy and went well) then it was dropped off Saturday May 17 at the Calgary location and it took till Thursday May 22 for U-Haul to clear it through my account. It should have been cleared off my account Tuesday morning at the latest and U-Haul should have called me Tuesday to confirm it was done. Having done everything according to instructions, I should not have had the concern that I would be charged extra or late fees.
PATRICIA TTruck check engine light was on and a bunch of service required messages were on the dash. When bringing it up to the clerk he just said it’s fine.

Michael AWhen I’ve rented in the past in the winter , the vehicle is warmed up and feee of snow and in this case it was not. Also, there was an issue with the mileage and fuel level from the previous renter and when I returned the vehicle, I had to haggle with the manager to make sure I want not over charged. After some discussion with the manager, the invoice was corrected. In addition, the U-Haul app is quite possible the least user friendly app I have ever used.
Robert ZThe truck I reserved was not available and I was not notified prior to arriving. They took a “deposit” with my credit card and did not reimburse me. The deposit was $130 while the cost of renting the truck was $40. I have been robbed.
Thomas BWhen I arrived, the person at the store had compications since I had an out of province driver's licence. However, I was able to sign in with the app and was on my way. Half-way down the alley, the check engine light came on, I let uhaul know to find out at that time I was impossible for me to add the issurance after the fact. It is what it is, but it's bullshit.. Later when driving it to my final destination the Stabitrack Error came on the dashboard.

Trisha DAbsolutely horrendous service. Im absolutely appalled at how bad it was trying to communicate with the person who was supposed to be helping us. He didn't speak English and couldn't process the return of the truck, did not explain certain things to us, primarily the requirement for a deposit after we had already paid in full and then had to pay again a second time and then go through customer service on our own just to try to sort out the mess. Just really bad and I am so surprised that this convenience store is allowed to have the uhaul name attached to it. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Illia YThere were leaves in the back that I had to sweep. Also, the gas was below 1/4 tank, so I had to gas up even though I only drove 3 miles cause I didn't want to risk the $30 surcharge.

AMBER MCheck in process lengthy and complicated. Store staff not affiliated with uhaul. Uhaul staff did not provide any warning about the complex check in process. I thought I was going to a uhaul store. It was a convenience store with 2 trucks parked in the alley parking. Had to call uhaul for help.

Gabriela NService very good at the counter. Fairly new 9' Cargo van rented, clean and in good shape. Needed for short haul; gas gauge had not budged so offered to pay them extra cash just in case at the counter to cover our minimal gas usage. They refused our offer which was exemplary, going the extra mile. Online reservation was smooth with relevant details up front. Pick-up and drop off was smooth, courteous, well managed. Location is good since convenience store has available snack provisions. Parking off the street and lots available with little or no restrictions. I will definitely put this location at the top of my list for future rentals.
Spencer BThe truck was not prepared for the 24/7 pick up option so we had to wait for the store to be open since the keys were not put in the lock box and the additional equipment (furniture dolly) also wasn’t ready in the uhaul.

J LWorst behaviour by the owner and zero support. My truck got stolen right from the store location. I had picked up just the keys earlier evening as I needed the truck at 6 AM and had nowhere to park. CCTV at the store location were no help as they were not working. Which the store owner did not inform about till the police arrived. Zero support from the location which really turned down my opinion of UHaul as the support teams were also no help as first I had to convince them that the truck really got stolen. The truck was found later on but I am charged for the time the truck was missing. Pathetic customer experience.

Jacek SPer mileage charge is very expensive. If you truly value customers give them a flat rate for the first couple miles.
Esther NAt the end of the day I got what I needed, but the pick up store was not professional and they charged me twice for the extra insurance, even though I specifically declined it when placing my online order. It wasn't until after that I noticed the add on. This is behaviour of crooks and not a professional company as I expect UHaul to be.
Tho NKey was hard to remove and once hard to turn on. Previous renter return it with fuel garage just below 3/4. Gal at counter suggested I return it just over 3/4. Why should I have to pay more. Lastly, I was charged for the extra insurance when I did not pick that option. I never do as my car insurance covers so it was either the 1-800 number that scammed me or the location itself. It took her a very very long time to book me in and get keys. I have a claim in for the extra insurance. U-Haul Reference #4571230 Hopefully they find out who did it.
Brett LVery uncomfortable. It was goverened at 120/kmhr. Would lose power when going up the hills. Seats were horrible. Steering wheel had a horrible wobble. Might want to do an oil change, as it's way past due. According to the computer. Worst experience I've had. Never again. OH! FYI! When you have a reservation! You're suppose to keep the damn truck. NOT SEND ME ELSEWHERE!
Shawn JWas billed CDW coverage when I did not select coverage when reserving the truck. Also, continual service warning on the dash about traction control and tire pressure. When trying to sign the vehicle out through the app, it wouldn't scan the back of the DL.
Clayton LPickup store not well organized, girl had difficulty processing my rental on the computer even though I had pre registered. After a day I still have not received my final bill with refund to my credit card.

Kate EI booked my vehicle advance, but for some reason someone changed my booking and sent me information that I am late on picking my vehicle. I was confused and called, but lady on the line was telling me that my reservation was from day before, which was not true because I have confirmations email telling that is for today for 2p.m. Lady was telling me that I don't telling the truth, so I wanted to send her my confirmation email like proof of my story, but she was ignoring my suggestions and just without my authority changed my reservation to another location, which I was telling her that is not going to work and that I want to talk with her supervisor. She ignored again my request, so I lost a bit temper and tell her to find someone who can explain uhaul mistake to me and someone who can make sure that vehicle will be on my location on time. She just sent me confirmations on changed location and hang up on me. After I vent to the location and make another booking and contact again customer service to cancel my first reservation which they did. This is the worst customer service experience in my life and the worst part is that is not first time. Itt seems that you don't care,just saying that you sorry but you don't do anything about that sorry, so I don't believe you because there is no ethical and honesty in your company and your employees. Thank you,and I hope that I will never use your services again. I will definitely try to avoid you in any cases
Anto JI was quoted $60.18 and charged $129.31 I had to clean the back of the truck before I used it and the coffee holder has mold in it.

Liem TThe initial amount deducted from the credit card is placed on hold until the equipment is returned. After the return, the real price is calculated and adjusted. I didn't understand the process initially, but figured it out in the end. I believe it should be highlighted somewhere for customers to understand it more easily. Other then that, we had a great experience at this location where the agent made a good effort we could really appreciate.
martin vMy reservation was canceled without notification. It is unfortunately my only complaint but it's a big one. Shouldn't have happened but luckily we were able to re-reserve for an hour later

Sandra WAfter returning the rental truck before its scheduled return time (and handing the key to the owner of the location, who promised to email me the final invoice within the hour), I received a call from U-Haul Corporate 4 hours later asking when I was going to return the rental, since it was now "3 hours past due". I explained the situation, the agent apologized, and I received the emailed invoice shortly after. No biggie, but could have been handle better by Corporate as well as the rental location. Otherwise, no problems. U-Haul is always my go-to for any short-term hauling requirement.
Steve GStraight forward truck rental. Made arrangements through a U-Haul business in Westbank, BC. for the Truck to be picked up by my Daughter in Calgary for a local move. Staff was really good to deal with and was able to pay with credit card over the phone.

hubert hUnderstaffed location, keys were not ready and had to wait an hour for forms to be filled out. The truck was 1/4 full, and even after re-fueling the used amount I was charged fuel fees. Equipment that was told to be included with cost was charged extra. As friendly as the owner was, having to wait an hour for things that should have been completed before is unacceptable. His disregard for my time after being constantly reminded that I had to go made this experience undesirable, expensive, and extremely frustrating.
